“Corsonia” the new YA paranormal book by Susan Berliner

Can two teenage girls save a town? When Loren Cofton and Tracie Martinez visit the remote hills of northeastern Nevada on a cross-country drive celebrating their high school graduation, the fun vacation quickly morphs into a perilous adventure.
After photographing an abandoned gold mine, Loren swipes a bottle of water from an eerily robotic man stocking bottles in the only occupied store of an otherwise deserted shopping center. The water’s effect on Loren leads the pair to investigate the strange little town of Corsonia—despite threats from the local sheriff. And when Loren and Tracie befriend a child named Boy 11, who tells them about his curious life and upcoming fate, the girls become even more determined to figure out what is going on.
As the relentless teens uncover a horrifying trail of evil, they put their own lives in dire jeopardy. Will the girls be able to rescue the people of Corsonia—or will Loren and Tracie become the town’s next victims?

When did you first know you wanted to be an author?
I have always loved writing. I think I’ve always wanted to be an author. I just didn’t know how to go about it.

What makes you passionate about writing?

I love the thought of being able to bring other people into my world. I want to make them feel the feelings we love to feel. (more…)

What do you mean The Urban Bike Story?

Wednesday, January 14th, 2015
Michael, what makes you passionate about writing?
That depends a bit on what I am writing! For my Urban Bike books, I think the passion comes from just believing in the subject. Bikes don’t pollute, they help you stay healthier and they let you be “out there” with your fellow humans even as they get you back and forth to work or just down to grab a few things from the local store! My passion comes from believing in that subject so much that I want to share it with others!

Do you have a writing routine?
Yes, my writing routine has changed once or twice, and might change again for 2015. I have plans to really get serious about the amount of work I publish this year so my current routine might need to change a bit to meet those expectations.
So right now, Because I commute to work on public transportation and/or by bike, I have found that for me, the Ipad is my best friend! It allows me to read relevant books, blogs or other articles wherever I happen to be. It also allows me to write most anywhere! Some writers complain about writers block or taking a while to “get into” the story. I understand that, but  also believe if you create a routine, weather that’s just writing at a certain time every day, when you do that a few times, you train your brain that her, it’s time to get to work! I find it very easy now as soon as I open that Ipad in a coffee shop or better yet in a quiet corner of the smithsonian, (What a great writing room right?) My brain is pretty much ready to go!

Sugarbabies and Feel Better for the New Year?

Saturday, January 10th, 2015

Sugarbabies” and “The Feel Better Book” by Andi E. Golub

What is your typical day like? My days are generally very long and varied. After taking care of my own cats and my boarding cats at CatNurse Cottage, I often go out and do house calls for pets needing in-home nursing care. If the weather is good when I return home, I often sneak in some gardening (even in the winter!) and finally settle down to try and write for an hour or two in the late afternoons.

This is the spiritual awakening of the author and not only his rebirth unto the things of God, but the acknowledge of God’s hand through out his life. It is a great journey where we are exposed to the choices, good and bad made by the author on his way to the light and God. This book is an inspiration to help us understand our value in God’s eyes and to help us to change and become what God has for us in faith and love. (more…)

How to Write a Book Review?

Sunday, January 4th, 2015

A review is a personal view of the story you have just read. Author’s love reviews; they sell books. So consider writing a review every time you read a book.

Always start with something good about the story.

Things like: “It is an interesting story” or “Quite fascinating reading,” even, “I couldn’t put it down,” will work well.

Always respect the creativity and the time the author took to write the book.

Never say that you would have done the book this or that way. If that is how you feel, then write your own book. (more…)
