Just Like Elizabeth Taylor a review

Just Like Elizabeth Taylor by
Lu Ann Brobst Staheli is a coming of age tale about a twelve-year-old  girl that is abused. It could be a really sad story but Lu Ann knows just how to make it uplifting and good. This is a topic that needs to be addressed by kids of all ages, so if it ever happens to them they will know what to do. The book is tastefully and clearly written to be understood by a young audience. A great tale writing by a master teller.

Elizabeth Taylor, was named after Elizabeth Taylor the actress. Her mother quotes the actress’s life quite often, which bother Elizabeth. Things start to go wrong when her parents begin to do nothing but fight. One day her father is gone. A few years later, her mother falls in love. All is ok until the guy and his son move in with them.

It is at this time that Elizabeth’s mom starts to be abused by the boyfriend, and Elizabeth can’t tell her that she is being abused by the son too. With no one to turn to, Elizabeth runs away because she doesn’t know what to do.

It is my hope that this book will get into the hands of all children in abusive situations so they can find the needed help. No child should be abused and “Just Like Elizabeth Taylor”, in the hands of the right adults, teachers, and family members could save the future and life of a child. It could become a source of knowledge  for adults and children. A very good book for all readers especially for kids from ten-years-old to adults.
