Red:
A Modern Fairytale Retelling
by
Jessi McPherson
Genre:YA
Fantasy

Everyone
has read the tale of Little Red Riding Hood… Such a carefree, naïve
girl who fell victim to the wolf and had to be saved by the Huntsman.
I’d like to set that story straight. It all began with a girl, a
curse, and wolf. We all have a hero inside. All it takes is to
believe. Cara knew the legends of her village but she never thought
she’d become one.

Hi
all, I’m
Jessi
Mcpherson
.
I live in a small town in Iowa right on the banks of The Mighty
Mississippi. I started writing when I was about 10 years old. Almost
every girl has a journal but I not only had fun stories of the day
but poems and short stories that popped in my head. I love fantasy
and romance novels and read almost daily. I like to find my
inspiration in everyday life. That’s one of my goals is to find one
thing every day that inspires me. I grew up an army brats so I have
traveled to a few places over the years. I have two amazing children
and a very amazing husband. They thankfully put up with crazy work
schedules because being a mom and a writer isn’t enough but I am also
the general manager of Sidelines Sports bar in my home town. No
matter how busy I find time for it all. I do hope you enjoy my books
and I look forward to writing more.

A DARK PATH
Series: Katrina Williams #3
by Robert E. Dunn
Genre: Mystery/Thriller
Pub Date: 8/7/2018
Sheriff’s detective Katrina “Hurricane” Williams confronts deep-rooted hate
and greed in the Missouri Ozarks in this riveting police procedural…
What at first appears to be a brush fire in some undeveloped bottom land
yields the charred remains of a young African-American man. As
sheriff’s Katrina Williams conducts her in-spection of the crime
scene, she discovers broken headstones and disturbed open graves in a
forgotten cemetery.
As Katrina attempts to sort out a complex backwoods criminal network
involving the Aryan Brotherhood, meth dealers, and the Ozarks
Nightriders motorcycle gang, she is confronted by the sudden
appearance of a person out of her own past who may be involved. And
what seems like a clear-cut case of racially motivated murder is
further complicated by rumors of hidden silver and dark family
histories. To uncover the ugly truth, Katrina will need to dig up
past crimes and shameful secrets that certain people would kill to
keep buried . . .
A PARTICULAR DARKNESS
Katrina Williams Book 2
Pub Date: 9/12/2017
From the author of A Living Grave comes a gripping police procedural
featuring sheriff’s detective Katrina Williams as she exposes the
dark underbelly of Appalachia . . .
Dredging up the Truth
Still recovering from tragedy and grieving a devastating loss, Iraq war
veteran and sheriff’s detective Katrina Williams copes the only way
she knows how—by immersing herself in work. A body’s just been
pulled from the lake with a fish haul, but what seems like a
straight-forward murder case over the poaching of paddlefish for
domestic caviar quickly becomes murkier than the depths of the lake.
Soon a second body is found—an illegal Peruvian refugee woman linked to
a charismatic tent revival preacher. But as Katrina tries to
investigate the enigmatic evangelist, she is blocked by antagonistic
FBI agents and Army CID personnel. When more young female refu-gees
disappear, she must partner with deputy Billy Blevins, who stirs
mixed feelings in her, to connect the lake murder to the refugees.
Katrina is no stranger to darkness, but cold-blooded conspirators
plan to make sure she’ll never again see the light of day . . .
A LIVING GRAVE
Katrina Williams Book 1
The first in a gritty new series featuring sheriff’s detective Katrina
Williams, as she investigates moonshine, murder, and the ghosts of
her own past…

BODY OF PROOF
Katrina Williams left the Army ten years ago disillusioned and damaged. Now a
sheriff’s detective at home in the Missouri Ozarks, Katrina is
living her life one case at a time—between mandated therapy
sessions—until she learns that she’s a suspect in a military
investigation with ties to her painful past.

The disappearance of a local girl is far from the routine distraction,
however. Brutally murdered, the girl’s corpse is found by a
bottlegger whose information leads Katrina into a tangled web of
teenagers, moonshiners, motorcycle clubs, and a fellow veteran
battling illness and his own personal demons. Unraveling each thread
will take time Katrina might not have as the Army investigator
turns his searchlight on the devastating incident that ended her
military career. Now Katrina will need to dig deep for the
truth—before she’s found buried…
Robert E. Dunn was born an Army brat and grew up in the Missouri Ozarks. He
wrote his first book at age eleven turning a series of Jack Kirby
comic books into a hand written novel.

Over many years in the, mostly, honest work of video and film production
he produced everything from documentaries, to training films and his
favorite, travelogues. He returned to writing mystery, horror, and
fantasy fiction for publication after the turn of the century. It
seemed like a good time for change even if the changes were not
always his choice.

Mr. Dunn is the author of the horror novels, THE RED HIGHWAY, MOTORMAN,
and THE HARROWING, as well as the Katrina Williams mystery/thriller
series, A LIVING GRAVE, A PARTICULAR DARKNESS, and the upcoming A
DARK PATH.

Their connection to each other is the only certainty

Tuesday, May 15th, 2018
“I kissed Edward Wolverton once. It
was everything it was supposed to be—and then some… maybe I’ll kiss him again.”

TV Producer Bea Douglas’s last confession to her former business partner and ex-best friend wasn’t meant to tempt the fates. She’s eager to escape the hypocrisy of the television industry and years of hiding her faith for the convenience of other people. Edward Wolverton may be hot, smart, and funny—but he’s also two steps out of rehab with a self-proclaimed allergy to Christianity.

But after a club night turns violent, Bea loses her sense of self while Eddie teeters on the edge of relapse. Their connection to each other is the only certainty. To
be together, each will have to let go of past pain and have faith in a love that never fades.

Off Script is an uncommon story of the power of love and resilience to bring people together in a society that does its best to tear them apart.

Liv Bartlet is the pseudonym for writing partners Becca McCulloch and Sarah McKnight, who have been building worlds and
telling stories together for more than a decade. They’ve logged hours of behind-the-scenes movie and TV footage and challenged each other in a friendly Oscar guessing game every year this millennium. Lifelong Anglophiles, their Monkey & Me world sprang to vivid life on a trip to London that included divine pastries, sublime art, and a spectacular pratfall in the British Museum.

Becca is a professor, a scientist, and a secret romantic who insisted their first order of business in London was a meandering five-mile walk to see Big Ben. She lives with her husband, children,
and an ever-expanding roster of pets in Logan, Utah.

Sarah is an Army brat, an Excel geek, and has a lot of opinions on the differences between science fiction and fantasy. She lives with her cat, Sir Jack—who is featured prominently on Liv’s Instagram —just outside Salt Lake City.

I
was born in Colorado Springs, CO as an Army Brat. I have lived all
across this country but unfortunately I don’t remember most of it
(hate that). What I do remember is growing up in Detroit and Highland
Park, Michigan, playing in my grandmother’s basement that was filled
with books my family bought for me and my sister, pretending to be a
singer, a news anchorwoman, and a writer. Of these, reading and
writing stuck.

When
I was still very young I moved to Arkansas with my father and sister
and have thus lived here for most of my life. I graduated from
Jacksonville High in Jacksonville, AR. I got my BBA from Philander
Smith College and my MSM from Kaplan Online University. And I have
spent the last 10 years working for the State of Arkansas. Yet all I
really wanted to do was have reasons to read and write. But not only
did I want to write, I wanted to share my writing with the world.

I
have not been more proud of a completed goal as I am of being able to
share #MeBeingMe with you. This story is inspired by my oldest son
(and my own) experiences with challenges, change, and middle school
(sometimes it really does suck).

I
still live in Arkansas with my three sons and our dog, Barker. I am
still finding every available minute to read, write, and share it
with the world.
