Just
Shut Up and Drive
by
Chynna Laird
Genre:
Coming of Age, Contemporary

One
teen, one cranky old man and the open road. What could go wrong?
Eighteen-year
old Wil Carter can think of more than a fistful of things he’d
rather do than go on a road trip with his ninety-five year old
grandfather. But when Gramps Wilf barks an order, you listen or get
an earful of grief.
Wil
lost his parents in a horrible car accident when he was five. Gramps
has been the only parent he has ever known. Now that he’s ready to
go off to college, the old man says he has things Wil needs to learn
to be the man he’s supposed to be. But the trip turns out to be
more than he bargains for.
Along
their week-long road trip across the Canadian Prairies, Wil not only
learns tidbits about his own life, but realizes the grandfather he
thought he knew has mysteries of his own. With each stop they make, a
new layer of emotional truth is revealed…for each of them.
Will
Gramps teach Wil what he needs to know before the journey ends? And
is Wil strong enough to hear it?

Essence Of Courage from the bible

Sunday, March 5th, 2017

As women we encounter multiple challenges, while simultaneously wearing
many hats. We need courage to face our challenges and commitments. In Song
of Solomon 4, Solomon ascribes the essences of his locked garden to the
courageous woman he has taken as his wife. This inspirational study will
provide an opportunity for you to discover:

• The secrets of the fruit, spices, and essential oils in Solomon’s locked garden.

• A deeper meaning of these fruits, spices and essential oil essences in Scripture by studying different women in the Bible.

• How others learn through their struggles and triumphs when you meet Cinnamah-Brosia and the women with whom she does life.

• Encouragement to allow the Holy Spirit to cultivate the essence of courage in your heart.

• Fun facts about the spices and essential oils, along with ways for you to
enjoy incorporating reminders of the fruit they represent into your life.

Pulled reluctantly into women’s ministry nearly four decades ago, Lynn Watson now treasures the opportunities that were provided to lead, encourage and mentor women through relationships and Bible studies. She wrote a few of the studies, too. Drawing from those experiences, along with years serving others professionally in the complementary healthcare field and her love for essential oils, Lynn delights in bringing her readers freshly inspired insights drawn from and focused on the many fruits, plants, oils, and spices mentioned in God’s Word. Married since 1973, Lynn and Steve call Bartlett, Tennessee home. Their home is filled with handmade treasures and lots of love for family, especially their five beautiful (of course) grandchildren.

The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control…
According to Pastor Lynn Watson, the woman described in Proverbs 31 is the absolutely ideal woman and she goes about to prove it in this book.
You will find Handy Hints for Using this Inspirational Volume to its best. I believe many people young and old will find a refreshing tale, mingled with scriptures. The story doesn’t start until page 27 and that is when what this book is all about became more clear to me. The book was a bit confusing as it jumped from one thing to another.
In between the story you will find a spices, fruit, and essential oils mentioned and explored totally–What its name means, where in the bible verse it was mentioned, how it was used and its role in the arts.
The story is so full of love, compassion and real care for all characters. and this includes the readers. I found it inspiring with warmth emanating from each page. The problem is, with all the explanations about the fruit or spices, it becomes confusing to me of where one ends (Fruit, spices, essential oils, and bible histories) and the other continued (the story of Cinnamah-Brosia).
The way it was written is quite different from what I am adjusted to reading and I am sure that is what caused my confusion. That said, I loved the story and I liked the history of the fruits and spices and where to find them in the bible. I just didn’t enjoy it mixed together. This book will be loved and enjoyed by all who have a bit of knowledge about God and His written word. Also those who love essential oils.
This is a Christian story, full of love from serving the only true God.

banner tour

Synopsis:
It was a match made in heaven. Or so everyone thought. Sadie Mae Cummings is all set to marry her childhood sweetheart, Kyle, when she is assigned to tutor Lincoln, the new college football running back. This sophomore phenomenon has all the girls on campus knocking on his door. But Sadie isn’t interested in his advances.

Lincoln’s overblown ego doesn’t take well to being shunned, and he resolves to make Sadie his own. He pursues her relentlessly, until finally Kyle finds himself shut out of Sadie’s life, with their shared future crumbling around him.

After two years, Sadie’s relationship with Lincoln ends, and she is left having to put the pieces of her life back together. She desires nothing more than to recapture her relationship with Kyle. He has stayed true to the dreams they had planned together, living the vision even without Sadie by his side.

When she moves back to her hometown, she labors to rekindle their love. But things have changed, and Kyle has moved on. Sadie quickly discovers how hard it is to rebuild burned bridges.

Follow Sadie’s story as she fights for a chance to restore broken dreams. Will love endure?

This inspirational romance by EC Jackson is book two of the Hope series and is a standalone book.

My Review:

In A Living Hope by E. C. Jackson readers will find faith in Gods plan for each of his children. The main characters are religious and faithful normal people that struggled to fallow what God has in store for them. A few verses from the Bible are quoted and use to illustrate what the character is learning or visioning as a message from God to them. It isn’t a preachy book at all and is a clean romance that will help you see yourself between the pages.

Sadie was engage to a wonderful young man and believe that they were pick by God to belong to each other…that is until she has to help a shallow student from flunking a class. The guy obsess with the attention he gets from the opposite sex decided to get Sadie just because she doesn’t care about him. When she abandoned her fiancé and family because of shame she stay with the guy and suffered much abuse from him that lasted two years. Finally she needs the support system of her family and she returned home right next door to her ex-fiancé. Now she want back in the relationship and have to struggled to get Kyle to see her as an adult with a different personality and strength than the confused girl he was engage to.

In all, I enjoyed A Living Hope by E. C. Jackson, for its entertainment and morals values. I would recommended to Adults as well as Young Adults the same. It could become a teaching tool for anyone who has fallen in love lately.

How do you know the idea is good enough to write a book about it?

You can do a lot of research for non-fiction and see what people are buying. Of course Romance always sells. I do my research and hope for the best.

This book was written because I had a business “Women Inspiring Women” and I wanted to (more…)

One failed marriage and one failed business and I am still standing on the promises of God. I am very passionate about my writing because of the challenges that I have overcame, from one failed marriage and one failed business. Now, I remarried my husband and I am an author. Therefore, I did not allow my past to stop me from rising again.

Good for you. Do you have a writing routine?

I normally write on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Each day I type 10 pages. The weekends belong to my family. Mondays are used to recuperate from the weekend.

Saturday, July 20th, 2013

Margaret, welcome. Where were you born?

I was one of the few people born in the capital of the United States – yep right in DC itself.  Maybe that’s why I think everything from zoos to museums should be free!

When did you start to write?

My writing all started on a Friday night at home with http://bored.com.  A few weeks before that night I felt God telling me He wanted to write my life on the Internet.  This was before Blogs were everywhere and any where.  I had a couple of websites and tried a new one with a few posts but quickly dropped it.  Too many problems, too public.
