Their connection to each other is the only certainty

Tuesday, May 15th, 2018
“I kissed Edward Wolverton once. It
was everything it was supposed to be—and then some… maybe I’ll kiss him again.”

TV Producer Bea Douglas’s last confession to her former business partner and ex-best friend wasn’t meant to tempt the fates. She’s eager to escape the hypocrisy of the television industry and years of hiding her faith for the convenience of other people. Edward Wolverton may be hot, smart, and funny—but he’s also two steps out of rehab with a self-proclaimed allergy to Christianity.

But after a club night turns violent, Bea loses her sense of self while Eddie teeters on the edge of relapse. Their connection to each other is the only certainty. To
be together, each will have to let go of past pain and have faith in a love that never fades.

Off Script is an uncommon story of the power of love and resilience to bring people together in a society that does its best to tear them apart.

Liv Bartlet is the pseudonym for writing partners Becca McCulloch and Sarah McKnight, who have been building worlds and
telling stories together for more than a decade. They’ve logged hours of behind-the-scenes movie and TV footage and challenged each other in a friendly Oscar guessing game every year this millennium. Lifelong Anglophiles, their Monkey & Me world sprang to vivid life on a trip to London that included divine pastries, sublime art, and a spectacular pratfall in the British Museum.

Becca is a professor, a scientist, and a secret romantic who insisted their first order of business in London was a meandering five-mile walk to see Big Ben. She lives with her husband, children,
and an ever-expanding roster of pets in Logan, Utah.

Sarah is an Army brat, an Excel geek, and has a lot of opinions on the differences between science fiction and fantasy. She lives with her cat, Sir Jack—who is featured prominently on Liv’s Instagram —just outside Salt Lake City.

The Christmas Switch by Laura L. Walker

Thursday, December 28th, 2017

Blurb:

STORM CLOUDS ON THE HORIZON

Having been the class clown through most of her teenage years, eighteen-year-old Ashley Sweeney is ready to leave her family, friends, and reputation behind and start a new life in sunny California. But Ashley’s determination to show her dad and stepmom that she can handle herself in the big wide world falls apart when she becomes the victim of a mean-spirited prank. To make matters worse, the one guy she never wanted to see again has come to her rescue.

Collin Nichols wanted to serve an honorable LDS mission from the time he was old enough to know what one was. But when the former high school football star’s missionary service comes to a crashing halt, he’s suddenly the most unpopular guy in Forest Meadow, Idaho. Now, to avoid his parents’ disapproval and awkward stares from people who used to be his friends, he gladly accepts Ashley’s dad’s plea to help him bring her home safely. If only he can get Ashley to see his way . . . and if only he can forget the electric kiss they shared back in high school.

But getting home is only half the battle. Ashley soon is caught up in the craziness of college life and Collin is forced to stand on the sidelines and watch as she receives attention from a returned missionary who seems like the perfect match for her. But when an unwanted visitor from her past shows up on her doorstep, will she need to be rescued once again? And when the storm clouds finally lift, will a new love have formed in the mist?

Teaser:

Ashley’s dad turned to the police officer. “What about it, officer? May I have my daughter back now?”

“We’ll need to fill out some forms, then your daughter will be free to go.”

“Great.” Her dad abruptly stood and followed the officer to the door, waving at someone from down the hallway. “She’s in here. Come and wait with her while I go sign papers.”

“Sure. No problem,” a deep voice said. Wondering whom her dad was waving to, Ashley stood and turned around. A ghost from her past walked through the door, and her mouth fell open. Standing before her in all his white-toothed, well-muscled, and tawny-eyed splendor was none other than football quarterback Collin Nichols, his thick dark brown hair hidden under a baseball cap. Missionary Collin Nichols.

It couldn’t be. Wasn’t he was serving his mission in New York? “Collin? What are you doing here?”

This was the last thing she remembered before everything went black.

A sinister plot has just been uncovered…

Historical Romance Series: Stories of Rebels, Adventure, and Mystery

The Rebel Series is a mixture of romance and adventure. Each book, set in the late 1700s, is a love story with mystery and suspense as a young couple and their rebel friends strive to help their country. The romance in this series can be enjoyed by young and old alike. For those who enjoy strong women characters, all three books have this in common. They are independent women who have an opinion and are not afraid to express it. The heroes in this series are rebels with a sense of justice. They are chivalrous and their feelings run deep for the young women they’re in love with.

In The Rebels of Cordovia, centuries after the legendary Robin Hood, a group of men and women find themselves fighting for the same cause. In this battle for freedom, a tender love story begins to blossom. Daniel, a rogue and a leader of the Freemen, doesn’t realize that the sweet feminine woman he has met and is falling for happens to be the leader of Robin’s Rebels. Realizing the importance of uniting all the rebel groups, Daniel tries to recruit Robin’s Rebels but they refuse. Now he has to find a way to convince them. When he finds out the leader is actually a woman, what will his reaction be?

My Review:

What a fun and interesting tale The Rebels of Cordovia is. A very good story to keep you glued all the way to the end. I really enjoyed the romance mingled with the fights. It is a well-paced tale to give you entertainment for a warm day on summer at the beach, or next to a warm fire in the rain. Linda writes a good, clean, and sweet romance, for young adults and adults alike. You will enjoy the story to the end.
Robin is a young woman whose father taught her all he knows about archery and sword fighting. Her strength is great in the art of the bow and arrow. As the head of twenty-five men and women, Robin is respected and has earned a good reputation for her group of rebels. She is strong and stubborn, yet a gentle and loving woman.
When she is challenged by Daniel, the rogue leader of the freemen, she accepts. You see, Daniel doesn’t know Robin is a woman—let alone that she is the same woman he fell in-love with. She expected many trials in her efforts to recover the throne from a usurper but, what she least expected was to find love.

In book two, The Highwayman of Cordovia, the people enjoy their new-found liberty but all is not well. One year after Cordovia gains its freedom, a group of powerful men plan to take over the small country and replace the leader with a king.

My Review:

In The Highwayman of Cordovia you will find secrets, forbidden romance, and a highwayman that merits a medal. This book two of the Rebel Series is an adventure that takes freedom to heart and the characters will defend it with their lives. It is another great historical novel from the pen of Linda Weaver Clarke.

In Cordovia, a man and his Kingmen want to topple the president of the country. They take away the people’s land and also their ways of life. He tries to make them believe that they will be better off if he is in power. Many believes him. Others don’t, like Christine, the pastor’s daughter, who writes an article in the newspaper about her opposing view.

Another who knows better is Austin, who, like Robin Hood, steals from the Kingmen and gives it to the poor. All seems well until he gets reacquainted with Christine and a romance grows between them.

This is a clean read full of patriotic fervor and blood. It is a great read for anyone who likes history and a clean romance. The characters are charming and well developed. I recommend it to anyone, young or old.

The third book, The Fox of Cordovia, has adventure and mystery along with a “second-chance” love story. A sinister plot has just been uncovered and its up to a former patriot and a young nurse to discover who is behind it. Caroline is engaged to the future mayor of Laketown, a man of influence and greatly respected. But all that changes when she overhears a conspiracy behind closed doors. After being discovered, she runs for her life. Caroline needs to report her findings, but whom can she trust? When she asks Jesse Conover for help, the adventure begins.

My Review:

To begin, I would like to say that I love the covers of the Rebel series, they look perfect for the era just like the story contained within its pages. This historical fiction seems to be taken from the pages of a history book. It is well written with good facts and is quite charming. This story will keep you up all night.

Caroline, the daughter of the doctor who helped the rebels through the other two books in this series is engaged to be married. All falls apart when she hears her husband to be plan a kidnapping of someone important to further his political campaign. The plotters see her and she runs for her life, falling into the hands of the Fox of Cordovia, though she doesn’t know it. They embark on a quest to find the truth and on the way they find love.

The Fox of Cordovia is the finale of the clean Rebel Series and is a great one at that. Mystery, treason and love is what you will find between its covers.

Snippet:
The door to the workroom opened and
the young princess entered. Her hair was as black as midnight and
adorned with a simple gold circlet. Her skin, the color of moonlight, appeared
even lighter against the dark blue fabric of her gown. But her most striking
feature was her lips the color of ripe strawberries.
“I heard yelling,” she
said.
“I dropped something. I didn’t
mean to disturb you, your highness,” Anessa answered.
“That’s a lovely necklace. Do
you need help putting it on?”
“Yes. I’ll ring for one of the
maids.”

“Oh, they’ll never come. They’re
too afraid of being turned into a toad by the Witch Queen.” She clasped a
hand to her mouth. “I’m sorry. You’re her. I meant no offense. They’ll do
anything you ask. They’re just afraid of magic after what happened to

A swashbuckling romance by Linda Weaver Clarke

Friday, July 28th, 2017

Bio: Linda Weaver Clarke is the author of 22 books: historical romances, period romances, a romantic cozy mystery series, a mystery suspense series, a children’s book, and non-fiction. She has also traveled throughout the United States giving lectures on writing techniques. All her books are family friendly. She lives in Color Country, which is located in southern Utah among all the red mountains.

Linda Weaver Clarke is having a Book Giveaway, which will last until Aug 21st: Every visitor will receive 7 EBOOKS FREE if they preorder the Historical Romance: The Fox of Cordovia. For these promotional giveaways, go to https://lindaweaverclarke.wordpress.com.

Linda, what book(s) have changed your life?

This may sound strange, but the scriptures have changed my life immensely. I can’t tell you how much they have influenced me in my life. I try to read them on a regular basis. In fact, one of my favorite stories in the scriptures is Joseph, who was sold into Egypt by his brothers. It always touches my heart when he recognizes them during the famine, as they ask for help. He doesn’t hate them for what they did but rather teaches them a lesson.

Also, the story of Captain Moroni, the Title of Liberty, and the Freemen has always intrigued me each time I read it. When they’re fighting for their freedom against the Kingmen, I feel I’m right there beside them. The fight for liberty has always touched my heart.

I too love the scriptures. Who are your favorite authors?

I’m probably prejudice, but my favorite author is my daughter, Serena Clarke. I absolutely love her stories. They’re fantasy romances, but what I love about them is that each book in The Isian Series is about the fight for truth and freedom, and the women in her books are strong characters. I like that. They don’t stand idly by, allowing the men to thwart the enemy. In one way, it’s a lot like your fantasies, Anna. Your women are strong and fight for what they believe.

I agree with you, Serena’s characters are awesome. Thank you fort he compliment…Tell us why you wrote your new book. What is it about?

I absolutely love stories that are page-turners, which have some mystery, romance, and suspense. I love a romance where the man and woman know they are meant for one another. Even though there are trials along the way, they never give up on the other. I also like strong women characters in a story.

In this swashbuckling romance, a sinister plot has just been uncovered and its up to a former patriot and a young nurse to discover who is behind it.

Sounds interesting. Where did you get your inspiration for The Rebel Series?

All three books in this series are love stories set in the late 1700s. The Rebel Series was inspired by the stories of the American patriots who fought to be free from the dictatorship and tyranny of a king. It’s a theme that is dear to me. Liberty is something that I cherish. It’s a precious gift given to us by those who fought so valiantly. When I read the stories of the American Revolution, my heart swells with gratitude for those loyal patriots. When I look at our flag and pledge allegiance to it, tears well up in my eyes. When I listen to The Star Spangled Banner or God Bless the U.S.A., I get choked up. Especially when it’s sung by a choir.

I too love those patriotic songs. Where can we find your books?

“Mine?
Why?”

Seventeen-year-old Emma Harris is drowning on dry land.

No one knows what’s happening to her, and she’d like to keep her evolution from
human to mermaid a secret, but the truth is getting harder and harder to hide.
From her adoptive family, from her friends, and especially from the irresistible James Phelps.

Her time in the ocean is spent dodging a possessive merman, while her time on land is split between caring for her special-needs brother and squeezing in every last possible moment of human life. She soon realizes falling for James is unavoidable when he constantly comes to Emma’s rescue and somehow manages to see through her carefully constructed icy facade to the vulnerability she lives
with every day. Everything about James makes Emma yearn for a life on land she just can’t have.

When Emma’s brother disappears on her watch, James is the only person she
trusts to help her save him. But even if they can save her brother, nothing can
prevent her return to the sea. Whether she likes it or not, Emma is
changing—unable to breathe without yielding to the tide—and it’s only a matter
of time before she’s forced to surrender forever.

Lieutenant
Peters made another note, then pocketed his notebook and stood, frowning. “What
are you planning to do about this broken window? It’s unlikely you’ll get a
glass company out here to replace it until morning. Is there somewhere you and
Keith can go for the night?”
“Keith’s
staying at the neighbor’s.” Emma took in the glass all over the floor, the cool
breeze blowing in, and had to swallow a lump in her throat. “I don’t know what
to do about the window.”
“I’ll
help her take care of it.” James reached across the arms of their chairs and
took her hand, palm-to-palm, an offer of solid support—friendship. “Do you know
if your dad has any plywood lying around?”
“Probably.”
Her head spun as the initial adrenaline rush wore off, but she squeezed James’s
hand, grateful. “Thanks.”
He
shook his head. “Don’t worry about it.”
Peters
leveled his gaze on James. “You planning to stick around for a while?”
James
hesitated, his eyes searching hers for approval. “As long as Emma needs. I’ll
help her clean up, make sure she’s not alone if the vandal comes back.”
Something
stirred, fluttered, in Emma’s chest, soft, like the tentacles of a jellyfish in
motion. She tried to push the feeling away, but James held tight, and the warm
sensation traveled up her arm and spread through the rest of her body.
Tread
carefully, Emma. Go slow. Don’t dive in just because it feels good to be
touched, to have someone worry about you.
James
moved her in foreign ways, from places no one else had managed to reach. By all
accounts, he should be forbidden territory. She couldn’t ask him to stay, but
tonight, she didn’t relish the idea of being alone, either.
Another
officer poked his head in the door. “Lieutenant, we’re clear out here.”
“Thanks,
Brown.” Peters handed Emma a business card. “Here’s my number. I’m on duty
until two a.m., but you can call anytime.”

“Thanks.”
She ran her fingers over the card as Peters strode from the house, closing the
door behind him. Outside, the cops got in their cars, turned off the flashing
lights, and one by one, drove away.

When a cruel prank
nearly claims Maura’s life, one of her classmates, Ron, rushes to her rescue.
Darkly handsome & mysteriously accepting, Ron doesn’t seem to want to stay
away, but Maura is reluctant to get too close, since her mother has announced
she’s moving the two of them to Vancouver…nearly 3,000 miles away from their
hometown of Indiana, Pennsylvania.

If life wasn’t already challenging enough, Maura begins to experience bizarre,
physical changes her mother seems hell bent on ignoring, compelling Maura to
fear for her own life. Vicious nightmares, blood cravings, failing health and
the heart-shattering loss of Ron—as well as the discovery of a tangled web of
her own mother’s lies—become obstacles in Maura’s desperate quest for the
unfathomable truth she was never prepared to uncover.

Snippet:
Maura being pursued in a dark alley
There weren’t any doorways in which to hide down this stretch of
alley, and I’d realized, once I’d started toward the restaurant, it was
deceptively longer than it had seemed upon first inspection. Every time I turned
around, the space behind me was empty, as it had been the last five times I’d
jerked my head around, certain I’d catch a glimpse of whomever I knew had
to be there. I was about halfway through the narrow, dark walkway now, my skin
consumed by the cold-running chill of fear.
Maybe I should call Caelyn? *No, Maura,* I stubbornly told myself,
*you’ll scare her to death. You’re probably imagining it.* I could envision the
near hysterics at the other end of the line and ruled that option out
completely. Besides, I was almost at the other end. If anything
should happen at this point, I was sure someone would hear me scream. Wow…I
really didn’t want cause to scream… I rubbed my hands over my arms in an effort
to calm, comfort and warm myself.
I tried to put myself at ease by telling myself anyone who smelled
as good as this guy could be no homeless drug addict. And if he meant me harm,
wouldn’t he have made his move before I’d gotten this close to the crowded
street? As I inched through the last quarter of the alley, I took in a deep
breath, just to catch one last whiff of whatever scent this guy was wearing. I
tried to store it in memory, so I could try to find some to give Ron—and
myself—as a Christmas present.
“You know I’m here, don’t you, Maura?”
My legs felt like cooked spaghetti, and it was all I could do to
keep from collapsing in utter fear, right there on the sidewalk. Though the
deep, male voice was smooth and beautiful…it still should not carry across the
night in the syllables that made up my name.
My brain fumbled around inside itself for a reasonable
explanation. One of the teachers must have been at the library? A far more
rational part tossed out the thought that even if one of the
teachers from my school was the mysterious, sweet-smelling man in the alley, he
had been lurking around, not allowing me to catch a glimpse of him. And I just
couldn’t propose any way that could be a good thing.
Then, my brain tossed out the oddity that this person, whoever he
might turn out to be, had stalked me, frightened me, made me doubt my own
perceptions, only to let me get so close to a place of safety? He’d cruelly let
me believe I’d soon be in a well-lit restaurant, only to take it away when I
thought I was home free. My ever-increasingly volatile temper flared white-hot,
burning away most of the fear I’d felt. I irrationally whirled to face whoever
he may be, infuriated by the twisted way he’d kept me rooted to the edge of the
darkness at the very last moment.

The summer Meredith turned eighteen was filled with romance and laughter – two young men sought her hand, and she chose the one she thought would make her the happiest. He certainly was the most handsome, and the wealthiest, and could offer her the most pleasant life. But that turned out to be a mistake . . . one she would regret for a very long time.
In a strange twist of fate, now she’s being given a chance to set things right. Will she be able to live down her past, or will her
foolishness keep coming back to haunt her and keep her from ever being happy
with the man she loves?

Snippet:
Luke ate a hearty
meal, but Meredith only picked at hers. The butterflies in her stomach had
turned into lead weights. She could hardly wait until she could excuse herself
from the table. As soon as the dishes were stacked and the water to wash them
was on to boil, she grabbed Luke’s hand and dragged him outside.
“What’s all the
rush?” he asked with a chuckle as soon as they were out of earshot of the
house.
“Don’t you have
any idea how badly I’ve needed to talk to you? You’re my best friend—I need
your advice.”
He leaned on the
fence that surrounded the property and rested his foot on the bottom rail.
“What’s going on?”
Now that the
moment had come, Meredith wasn’t entirely sure where to start. “Well, you
remember Mr. Bingham.”
“Of course. He’s a
hard one to forget. A fancy suit and a lot of bravado.”
“He’s more than
that,” Meredith protested. “He’s smart and attentive, and he’s . . . well, he’s
interested in me.”
Luke turned to
face her. “What do you mean, he’s interested in you?”
Meredith felt heat
coming to her cheeks. “When we were outside on the porch last night, he said .
. . he said he’d like to get to know me better. As in, to get ready for
courtship.”
“But . . .” Luke
shook his head. “I’m not quite sure what to say to that, Meredith. I always
thought . . .”
When he didn’t go
on, Meredith prompted him. “What?”
“I just always
thought that you and I would get married someday.”
Meredith couldn’t
possibly have been more surprised. His words hit her chest like she’d been
kicked by the cow. “Us? Luke, are you crazy?”
“Apparently I am.”
The muscles in his jaw worked, and she could tell that he was struggling not to
say even more.
“I don’t mean to
be harsh. I just never thought of us that way. You’re my best friend, a
brother, someone I can always talk to. I assumed you felt the same way.”
Luke shook his
head again. “Funny how two people can see the same thing in such different
ways. I’m in love with you, Meredith. I have been pretty much since the first
day we met. There was something about you that just spoke to something in me,
and I thought that someday, it would all come together. Maybe I should have
talked to you about it, huh? Made sure we were on the same page?”
Meredith leaned on
the fence and buried her face in her folded arms. This was horrible. This was
absolutely horrible. How much time had Luke wasted on her when he could have
been out with other girls, girls who could return his feelings? She felt sick
inside knowing that she could never give him what he wanted. All they could
ever be was friends, and this conversation might change that too. Everything
would be awkward between them now.
“I’m sorry,
Meredith. Maybe I should have held my tongue.” He touched her back, much the
same as he had so often over the years, but now it held more meaning. “I’m happy
for you—I really am. If Mr. Bingham is the right man for you, I’ll wish you
well.”

He’ll carve a melody from the solid wood surrounding his heart

Thursday, March 23rd, 2017

From the award-winning author of the bestselling novel The Soldier’s Bride read the story of a carpenter who gave a music box to a young polio victim, but held the magic of the melody inside his heart.

He hesitated only half a second before lowering his head. There was something there, behind his eyes, in his soul. Something that seemed familiar to Sophie. She didn’t know Leland, but she recognized that haunted look in his eyes. He had lost someone. He had weathered the storm and still manned his ship, sailing forward through life.

Here’s a little about this story:

World War II has ended but the scars
of the war have carved deep grooves in Sophie Wright’s heart. Now a widow with
two young children, she returns home to Aspen Falls and meets Leland Halverson,
a handsome carpenter who appears interested in her, but afraid of a
relationship.
Leland wishes he was worthy of the beautiful Sophie, and he adores her two children, but his past still haunts him. Sophie knows that Leland fell apart after his little girl died and his
wife left him, but she doesn’t know the real reason why.
Meanwhile, David Alexander, a decorated bomber pilot has returned to Aspen Falls, and Sophie catches his eye.
Confused by the two vastly different choices of men, Sophie searches for answers from a heart that has betrayed her before.
When Sophie discovers a message inside a music box that Leland once owned, the pieces start to fit together. The enchanting melody urges her to share the secrets of her heart so that she
can understand his. Leland knows the tune from the music box well and if he can find the courage, he’ll carve a melody for Sophie from the solid wood surrounding his heart.

Can a Princess be handicapped?

Tuesday, February 14th, 2017
Just in time for Valentines and for your favorite lady, a new clean, young adult, medieval fantasy romance hit the market today. “A Golden Princess,” book three in A Royal Romance Series of Anna del C. Dye is a stand-alone story. You will find an array of characters, fears, love, endurance and heroes, between its pages. Enjoy!

About the book:

Small for her age, Princess Nyala is determined to be noticed and someday rule with fairness and valor in Kaloma. All changes when she looks upon the stars and they predict her accident. After she awakens to a broken body, her father takes to his goblet and she steps into power in her kingdom at sixteen.

Her father said that no man would choose a half-broken princess. Is that how Prince Nicolao sees her after the accident? Her heart is unsure and out of fear she keeps him away to avoid a broken heart.

As soon the other kingdoms in the land determine the predicament of the Royal House of Kaloma, they too will prey on her vulnerability to steal her kingdom. She will have to confront new foes or lose it all.

What other said about the book:

Review by Roseanne Wilkins: A Golden Princess is a story about overcoming hardship and finding true love. This story is a clean romance suitable for pre-teens. I enjoyed the story of love and loss and finding love again through hardship. There aren’t many tales put in a medieval setting that involve strong female characters, especially characters who are physically challenged. Much of the relationship-building between the main characters is told in past perspective after Princess Nyala is injured. Moments are lived through her memories. When Nyala accepts her injuries and moves forward, the story takes off. It was good to read a story where the main character has to face a life very different from what she had planned. I love happily-ever-after’s, and Anna del C. Dye knows how to deliver.

The summer before we
turned thirteen, Aislin and I got to spend a whole month away at camp. It was
one of those all-purpose places that had a name worthy of Thoreau or a
retirement home. The camp had something for everyone, from hiking to skits, but
they stuck Aislin and me in different cabins and we rejoiced. Aislin was in
Bunk 3 with Jill and Bekah, who taught her how to sail and talk to boys. I was
in Bunk 9 with girls who wanted to try makeup and fawn over Derrick Ferrell.
They traded diving lessons for eyeliner tips.
New friends aside, we
couldn’t stand ignoring each other, so we ate dinner together and teamed up for
canoeing. We once swapped bunks and would have gotten away with it if Aislin’s
counselor hadn’t noticed that I had been cured of my hay fever.
Just after the Fourth
of July, disaster struck. Aislin’s counselor pulled me aside to ask where she
was. I hadn’t seen her and the same went for her friends and counselors. I
headed to my bunk after dinner in case my sister turned up there.
Shortly after dark,
Aislin started throwing rocks at my screen. I snuck out of the bunk and found
her hiding behind a birch tree. She was crying and naked and promised to tell
me everything if I could bring her some clothes and a tampon. I brought both of
them without asking questions and while she got changed, I sought out Nina, her
counselor.
Aislin told the
higher-ups that she’d gone skinny-dipping on a dare and someone had swiped her
clothes. Terrified that someone from camp would see her, she’d hidden in the
woods until night. Nina was sympathetic to the awkward teenager, but
skinny-dipping and going MIA were both against the rules. Aislin got kitchen
duty for her infraction and got told that the next time, parents would be
called.
Once we were alone,
Aislin told me that she’d spent all day with wings and the conviction that
she’d gone bonkers. I had no reason to doubt her, but I witnessed her
transformation the next day to prove that it wasn’t a hallucination. After
seeing my twin sister’s hands sprout feathers and watching her shrink to swan
size, I’d wondered if I was bonkers too.
When Aislin went
missing again, I knew exactly where to find her, but there was no way I was
telling Nina. So I shrugged miserably and said I hadn’t seen her that day.
The camp director
decided that both of us had problems with authority. My parents didn’t believe
that, but they didn’t argue when we were asked to leave camp early.

Can a human heart overcome a demon soul?

When soul-eating demons overrun his world, Kaelis, a young seraph warrior, uses the Queen’s ring to open a portal in space and flee with the infant heir to the throne, landing on earth. Unbeknownst to him, the demon leader, Nsark, follows through the portal, determined to devour the soul of every last seraph, especially the Queen’s heir. After Kaelis hides the baby, Nsark creates the ultimate weapon by fathering a half-human, half-demon: a soul-stealer’s child.

Sixteen years later, an awkward teen named James struggles to fit in with his peers. In a last-ditch effort, he joins the school play, where he meets Lucy. Something deep draws them together, and their friendship reveals their hidden pasts: one is an angel, one is half-demon. Lucy and James find themselves pulled into an age-old war between their peoples. Hunted by relentless enemies, and grappling with deep-seated instincts and strange new powers, they must fight for their lives, their souls, and each other.
