Valerie
Willis, a sixth generation Floridian, launched her first book, Cedric
the Demonic Knight,  at the start of 2014 on Amazon.com. Since then,
she has continued to add to The Cedric Series, a high-rated
Paranormal Fantasy Romance Series. This series features an anti-hero
who finds himself dragged away from his revenge on his maker by both
love and the onset of a larger threat. She pulls in a melting pot of
mythology, folklore, history and more into her work with a remarkable
amount of foreshadowing that makes reading her books a second time
exciting. Rebirth is the first book in her Teen Urban Fantasy, the
Tattooed Angels Trilogy, where the main character struggles with
social issues with the complications of turning immortal. And if
fantasy isn’t your cup of tea, head over to her Blog for some “Val,
Tell me a Story” posts featuring true, hilarious, and sometimes
bizarre, life events from recent to old.

I´m
Cyci Cade and I write urban fantasy and fiction novels for young
adult.

I´ll
never forget the first time I wrote a story; I was in fifth grade.
That experience enchanted me. What should be an insignificant
composition became a four pages flash story. My teacher didn´t like
it very much, but who cared? She did.
Well,
I had to shorten my compositions. However, it didn´t discourage me;
on the contrary, it made me try harder. I like a good challenge. I
like to try new things; some of them don´t work as I expect, but it
doesn´t matter. I always learn new things.
I
started writing articles for magazines, newspapers, and blogs. I
wrote my first book in 2010 and published it in 2012. It was so
amazing that I didn´t stop anymore. Writing makes me happy.
I
have received 5 stars reviews from professional websites, and
remarkable comments that have encouraged me.
During
my free time, I like reading, watching TV series, and movies.
I
live in Brazil and I have a cat named Angel. I love cats too.
Welcome
to my world!

Magic, unique creatures, strong characters

Kevin, well us where you were born and where do you live now.

I was born in Lehi, Utah and currently live within a stone’s throw of where I was born.  However, that current residence came by way of Arizona, North Carolina, and Brazil before coming back to Lehi, Utah again.

What makes you passionate about writing?

Coming up with new and interesting worlds, ideas, and creations is what keeps me passionate about writing.  I’ve been writing novels since I was 11 years old and it is the one thing I still do now, 16 years later, that I did then.  Writing fuels my passion for writing, which in turn fuels more writing.  It’s one of the reasons why I have so many different projects going at any one time.

How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?

The first draft of my most recent manuscript, STORMS, was written in 72 days.  Its predecessor, SANDS, which is the first book in the Sharani Series, was written in about 96 days, if I remember correctly.

Who or What inspired you to write this book?

Two things.  The first were two people at the LTUE (Life, the Universe, and Everything) Symposium on 2014.  Johnny Worthen and Shallee MacArthur.  They talked about (more…)

Q: Mark Minson is visiting today. Mark where were you born?
A: I was born in Midvale, Utah. I have lived in Utah most of my life.
Q: What is the most difficult thing about being an author?
A: For me, the most difficult thing about being an author is finding the time to write. With five younger children and either myself or my wife being in school most of the last eight years, time is at a premium. Which is unfortunate because I keep getting story ideas with little time to write them!
Q: Who has made the greatest difference for you as a writer?

Have you ever been Drawn into the Mist?

Philip E Carroll how has your family background affected your writing, if it has?
From the time we were very young, my twin brother and I used to sit around and make up stories using. We each had our list of characters and talked out each of the experiences in their voices. I think this would fall under “Role Play” as my 13 year old daughter describes what she does on line with her friends.
When I was an early teen, my older brother started reading Lord of the Rings. The rest of us subsequently did as well. It started us all (four brothers) reading fantasy. When we would backpack in the Sierras and along the Pacific coast we relived these and other stories.
I feel that gave me a great love for using my imagination. Some of that comes forward to me now to be used in my stories.

The Rain Song. The first book of the five part Zeppelin series

Sunday, July 19th, 2015

Where are you from? I was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, but currently am living in a small town called Coweta which is about 30 miles away from where I started.

If you could travel to any time in history, when would you visit? There are so many places and times that have interested me. However, if I had to pick only one time and place… the time of Atlantis. Since there’s only one true description, but so many stories about it, I’d like to see it for myself.

If you could have dinner with any of your characters, which ones would be? Micah. But that would mean I’d have dinner with David as well, since you can’t have one without the other.

What food would you serve? Micah seems to love chocolate chip pancakes the best, so I’d make sure he had those. David and I would probably chow down on a couple bacon cheeseburgers with French fries though. (more…)

Out of the Dark and Into the Pit?

Holli Anderson, tell us where you were born and where do you live now.
I was born in Salt Lake City, Utah and I now live in Grantsville, Utah–the same place I’ve lived (mostly) since I was 10 years old.
What makes you passionate about writing?
It’s a great way to escape the reality of life. It’s such a great feeling to create something entirely from my own mind. When my characters start to head down a storyline I never intended–that’s exciting stuff! I have so many ideas for new books and new storylines for my current series–I wish I had more time to write.

Adrienne Monson talks about her book, “Dissension,” Book 1 of the Blood Inheritance Trilogy

Friday, August 1st, 2014

Adrienne, thanks for visiting my blog today. Tell us where you were born and where you live now?

Adrienne Author - 3650
I was born in Utah and still live there. While I love to travel and experience various cultures, I also love to come home and be with friends and family.

Nice…What makes you passionate about writing?
It’s probably because I’m so passionate about reading. Books keep us company when no one else can. They’re also a window into other lives and worlds. How can I not love books and creating my own stories?

Amen to that. How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?

Nice, what is the most difficult thing about being an author?

Getting the word out about my book.

Amen to that. Who has made the greatest difference for you as a writer?

My father. He kept a library of books at my house. I consumed them. I probably shouldn’t have read some of the books when I did. For example, I read Rambo First Blood Part II in fifth grade. I think I read The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings first, though.
