Rise of the Sea Witch
by Stacey Rourke
Genre: Paranormal Fantasy
Details
of the sea witch’s banishment have been exaggerated. The body count
that preempted it was not. Once an illustrious princess, her hands
and tentacles were stained with the blood of thousands. No one could
comprehend how the hooks of madness dragged her down from her life of
privilege.

Born
Princess Vanessa of Atlantica, the ambitious young royal was one of
two children born to the great King Poseidon. She and her brother,
Triton, were groomed from birth to rule. Yet only one would ascend
that coveted throne. While carefree Triton flits through his training
with a cavalier demeanor and beguiling charm, Vanessa’s hunger for
her father’s acceptance drives her to push herself to the limits of
magic, and combat to become a leader worthy of her people.

When
war against the humans ravages their once regal kingdom, political
sides are chosen. Factions from the seven seas challenge the existing
leadership, pitting Vanessa against her brother in a vicious battle
for the crown. Traitors are exposed, dark family secrets revealed,
and a once strong sibling bond is strained to its breaking
point.

Only
when the ink black waters from the ultimate betrayal rescind, will
the truth be known of how the villainous sea witch rose with one name
on her vengeful lips–Triton.

Biography of Angela Carling

Angela Carling was raised in Palm Springs California, but lives Arizona with her husband, three kids and five felines. After years of denial she finally admitted that she is a hopeless romantic which led her to write her first Young Adult book Unbreakable Love. Since then she’s published three more books, Shackled, Becoming Bryn and The Secret Keeper. Shackled won the silver IPGA award in 2012 and has been optioned as a screenplay. She always eats the frosting off her cake and leaves the rest, and can be caught singing in public bathrooms just for the acoustics. When she’s not writing YA novels, she’s mentoring teen writers, making pizza with her family or dreaming of taking a nap, not necessarily in that order.

In The Dying Light… James Bond or a book???

Thursday, February 25th, 2016

1.Angela, tell us where you were born

1109_Carling_Headshots_034

I was born and raised a California girl and have a love affair with the sun to prove it

2.What is the most difficult thing about being an author?

There is never enough time to keep up writing and marketing! Anyone have a way to stop time

3.Who has made the greatest difference for you as a writer?

I want to say my critic group because they are amazing, but it’s probably my husband who pushes me to keep going even when it seems impossible.

4.Who or What inspired you to write this book?

This book is the second book in The Secret Keeper series so the question is more like what inspired the series. That would have to be the power of human regret. We make mistakes all the time, but truthfully most of us would love to stop and do everything perfectly. A secret keeper allows us that indulgence, but comes with a price. I guess you could say this book is inspired by human weakness (more…)

Strange and Lovely: Ten Paranormal Tales of Thrills and Romance

Saturday, October 4th, 2014

Cynthia Jane Savage Anaya talks about the Anthology  “Strange and Lovely: Ten Paranormal Tales of Thrills and Romance.”

Cynthia how did you came up with the idea for an anthology?

Rebecca Gage was the author involved in planning this anthology and specifically seeking out the other nine authors involved. She wanted to create a fun, clean, paranormal book filled with short stories for teens and up to read and enjoy.

Great idea. How did you find all the authors for it?

Rebecca and I met at an ANWA conference last February and hit it off immediately. When she contacted me a few months ago about her project idea she asked for author suggestions. I thought (more…)

Redemption by Mary Reason Theriot an Interview

Thursday, May 29th, 2014

Mary, how long have you been writing?

10402394_10202007492925029_8447286139300621626_n

I have been writing for almost 3 years. My first book was published in May of 2012. Since then I have published twenty-five books. Of that twenty-five books, two are young adult and eight are children’s books.

Very nice. Tell us where you were born and where do you live now.

I was born in St. Francisville, LA, raised in Clinton,LA and currently reside in Morgan City, LA.

How do you know the idea is good enough to write a book about it?

Once I take the outline for my book and begin writing, I truly have no idea which direction the book will go. I let the words flow onto the paper, and once I am about about halfway done, the genre comes to me.

Wow!  Who has made the greatest difference for you as a writer?

When I did decide to finally start writing, I remembered how (more…)

Author Braden Bell an Interview

Saturday, March 15th, 2014

Braden, what is your typical day like?

I wake up at 5:45 so that the kids and I can leave at 6:30 in order to be at school by 7:30. I’m a teacher at a private school, and my children are fortunate to attend–but we live some distance away. After school, I usually have play rehearsals or voice lessons until the evening, so I generally get home around 6:00 or 7:00. Then we have supper, and I write until bedtime. Then I try to always help get the kids to bed, and then write until I go to sleep–which is almost always far too late!

Wow that is a lot. Do you write with music or not? (more…)
