Genre: Science Fantasy

became a prison, Galaseya a thriving Utopia; Diraetus finally found
peace, and Heirsha provided healing to all. Amber and her friends had

appeared on Heirsha–A secret truth. One that could shed light on the
mysteries surrounding the immortal families.

so much bitterness? What happened between Jermiar and Huntinylar?
What secrets does Marsacor conceal behind his coarse exterior? Who is
the mysterious family member that no one seems to want to talk about?
And why were both families plagued by constant tragedy? One
answer–Khyra Crawford.

Two
thousand years before Amber’s story began, Khyra was a brilliant
young environmental scientist who wanted her world to be clean from
man’s pollution. Her father, a world-renowned chemist, had an idea of
his own and created a devastating chemical that nearly exterminated
all of mankind. She fought hard to repair the damages her father
created. Not to mention take back her life from the one that his
transgressions against humanity made for her. But in doing so, she
found herself dragged into a web of lies, danger, and otherworldly
chaos, and a destiny that wasn’t hers to alter.

Memories
of Chronosalis
by
Ceara Comeau

It’s
one thing to read about heroes saving worlds in far off galaxies,
but to become one is an entirely different story. Sixteen-year-old
Amber Oak wanted nothing more than to stay in her own world of music
and solitude. But the inhabitants of Galaseya, a Utopian planet
rooted in the past, had other ideas in mind. According to them, only
she wielded the power to stop the dark forces threatening their home.
At first, Amber sympathized with the planet, but saw no reason to
involve herself in the affairs of something outside her world. But
the stakes have risen when she discovers that Galaseya is not only
the world that has been invading her dreams, but also the place her
estranged family originated from. With this new knowledge, questions
began to surface and secrets of Amber’s life come to light causing
her to second guess everything she knows.

I’ve
been writing stories since I can remember. Stories, I thought, were
just for children my age and I did not think they would go far. At
fifteen years old, I was proven wrong. My parents took a look at my
stories and saw something in them that I could not see. They saw the
potential of a good book, or two!

With
my Dad as the editor and my Mom doing the formatting, we
self-published these books. I did not think anyone, other than my
family, would want to read the ramblings of a young teenager. When we
published “Amber Oak Mysteries Volume 1” and “Adventures
of the Young and Curious,” I was fifteen years old, then the
unexpected happened. People would write to me and they told me how
much they loved my books.

During
the time, when I was seventeen, I stopped writing. I lost faith in
myself and my ability to write. But , my mom suggested that we
publish my third book, for it had been sitting on the shelf for about
two years. She thought it would be good to get it out there, before I
started college. I did not see what harm it could do, so my third
book, “Amber Oak Mysteries Volume 2” was published. In 2012
I published “Amber Oak and the Missing Links”. I went on to
publish “Amber Oak and the Master of Illusions”. In 2015 I
published something different call “The Lost Journal of Erika
Traynor”. These is currently available on lulu.com, amazon.com
and barnesandnoble.com.

Recently
I realized I needed to go back and redo the original Amber Oak
Mystery series. It had potential, but I knew I could do better. It
will be different than the originals as it focuses more on science
fiction and fantasy rather than mystery. The title of the book is
“Memories of Chronosalis”.

Henri andSuzanne Ribouleau, gave the children a home and family and sheltered them through subsequent roundups, threats, air raids, and the war’s privations

We
Survived….At Last I Speak
by
Leon Malmed
Genre:
Historical Biography

This
is Leon Malmed’s true story of his and his sister Rachel’s escape
from the Holocaust in Occupied France. When their father and mother
were arrested in 1942, their courageous and heroic French neighbors
volunteered to watch their children until they returned. Leon’s
parents were taken first to Drancy, then to Auschwitz-Birkenau, and
they never returned. Meanwhile their downstairs neighbors, Henri and
Suzanne Ribouleau, gave the children a home and family and sheltered
them through subsequent roundups, threats, air raids, and the war’s
privations. The courage, sympathy, and dedication of the Ribouleaus
and others stand in strong contrast to the collaborations and moral
weakness of many of the French authorities. Leon and Rachel each came
to America after the war, but always kept their strongest ties to
“Papa Henri and Maman Suzanne,” who were honored as “Righteous
Among the Nations” by Yad Vashem in 1977. Leon bares his soul in
this narrative of love and courage, set against a backdrop of
tragedy, fear, injustice, prejudice, and the greatest moral outrage
of the modern era. It is a story of goodness triumphing once more
over evil.

The Child of Happiness, by S.V. Cobets, is abeautiful poetry collection that reaches deep into the soul

Wednesday, March 27th, 2019
The
Child of Happiness
by
S.V. Cobets
Genre:
Poetry

Edited
version

This collection of poetry is a summary of my selected
poems that I wrote for many years. I hope that you enjoy reading them
as much as I enjoyed writing them. In this collection of poetry are
collected all of my feelings that I want to share with you through
verse.
“The Child of Happiness, by S.V. Cobets, is a
beautiful poetry collection that reaches deep into the soul. Though
the author’s native language is Croatian and not English, the
emotional depth of each poem comes across clearly and will be
relatable across cultures. Sensual and light with themes of nature &
love, yet also tinged with feelings of sadness and darker themes of
heartache, pain, loss, & the casualties of war – there were many
poems that spoke to my heart.”

Revelations
by
Robert Sells
Genre:
Science Fiction

Aster
Worthington spearheads the First Contact Team to unravel a message
from an alien race. “The Lambdons” promise free energy if
humanity builds a few special robots and downloads their message into
a super computer to direct construction of the fusion reactor. An
excited world agrees and builds a massive structure called the Dome
to house the alien enterprise.

Seven
years later, there’s no “free energy” and strange things happen
in and around the Dome. Aster and her colleagues mount an expedition
under the protection of Army Rangers to investigate the interior.
Instead of friendly aliens, they discover hordes of deadly
intelligent humanoids with insect-like characteristics.

When
the military team is brutally murdered by the Lambdons, the
scientists scatter. It’s soon apparent that the Lambdons intend to
take over the planet using biological warfare. The only hope for
humanity lies with a two-thousand year old scroll hidden by the
church. The question is, can Aster and her team unravel the scroll’s
mystery in time to save the planet?

I
attended college at Ohio Wesleyan where I struggled with physics.
Having made so many mistakes in college with physics, there weren’t
too many left to make and I did quite well at graduate school at
Purdue.
I worked for nearly
twenty years at Choate Rosemary Hall, an exclusive boarding school in
the heart of Connecticut. More often than not, students arrived in
limousines. There was a wooded area by the upper athletic fields
where I would take my children for a walk. There, under a large oak
tree, stories about the elves would be weaved into the surrounding
forest.
Returning to my home
town to help with a father struggling with Alzheimer’s, the only
job open was at a prison. There I taught an entirely different
clientele whose only interaction with limousines was stealing them. A
year later Alfred State College hired me to teach physics. I happily
taught there for over ten years. A rural, low income high school
needed a physics teacher and the superintendent, a friend, begged me
to help out. So, I am finishing my teaching career in a most
fulfilling way… helping kids who would otherwise not have access to
a qualified physics (and math) teacher.
My wife pestered me
about putting to “pen” some of the stories which I had created
for the children and other relatives. I started thinking about a
young boy and a white deer, connected, yet apart. Ideas were shuffled
together, characters created and the result was the Return of the
White Deer. This book was published by the Martin Sisters.
Years ago I gave a
lecture on evolution. What, I wondered, would be the next step? Right
away I realized that silicon ‘life’ had considerable advantages
over mortal man. Later this idea emerged as the exciting and
disturbing story called Reap the Whirlwind, my most recent novel.
I have many other
stories inside my mind, fermenting, patiently waiting for the pen to
give them breath. Perhaps someday I will even write about those elves
which still inhabit the woods in the heart of Connecticut.

Matthew Heart of the Metropolitan Police must deal with his partner, a cyborg policewoman, his unofficial family, a one-legged girl and a mysterious assailant bent on taking over the world

Monday, March 25th, 2019
Metrofloat
New York
by
William Quincy Belle
Genre:
Science Fiction

A
Post-apocalyptic Sci-Fi thriller.

Several
hundred years in the future, Earth is a different planet. Antigravity
has been invented and “flying” has given way to “floating”:
giant platforms with cities remain above the growing surface
temperatures as enclaves of the privileged. A global pandemic has
wiped out 80% of those on the ground, and a virulent, flesh-eating
disease, necrofasc, has left most with artificial body parts. Insects
are the main food staple. A utopia for some, a dystopia for
others.

Metrofloat
New York, a futuristic city of thirty million, is run by an oligarchy
of five rich and powerful people. An unknown assassin, working from
within the system, attempts to seize control and declare himself
dictator by methodically removing all rivals. Detective Matthew Heart
of the Metropolitan Police must deal with his partner, a cyborg
policewoman, his unofficial family, a transgender woman and her
one-legged daughter, and a mysterious assailant bent on taking over
the world by killing anyone who stands in his way.

Quincy Belle is just a guy. Nobody famous; nobody rich; just some guy
who likes to periodically add his two cents worth with the hope,
accounting for inflation, that $0.02 is not over evaluating his
contribution. He claims that at the heart of the writing process is
some sort of (psychotic) urge to put it down on paper and likes to
recite the following, which so far he hasn’t been able to attribute

A great works of fiction that explore the universal desire to belong

Wednesday, March 20th, 2019
The
Improbable Wonders of Moojie Littleman
by
Robin Gregory
Genre:
Fantasy, Magical Realism
Early
1900s, Western America. A lonely, disabled boy with a nasty temper
and uncontrolled mystical powers, Moojie is taken by his father to
his grandfather’s wilderness farm. There, Moojie meets an
otherworldly clan of outcasts that he wants to join. Following a
series of misadventures–magical and mystical–he is summoned by the
call to a great destiny … if only he can survive one last
terrifying trial.

Having
won a number of awards, Robin Gregory’s The Improbable Wonders of
Moojie Littleman is being lauded as a classic. A haunting, visionary
tale spun in the magical realist tradition of Gabriel Garcia
Marquez’s One Hundred Years of Solitude and Madeleine L’Engle’s A
Wrinkle in Time, the profoundly unique voice and heart-stirring
narrative recall great works of fiction that explore the universal
desire to belong.

Excerpt #1

The peculiar smile that crossed the face of the Ranger eluded the two candidates. He pressed a button on the black plastic box on the right side of his desk and asked his secretary to bring in two contracts.

While there was a lull in the conversation, the Ranger felt compelled to inform his recruits of a few inconsequential matters.

“You know…” He pulled out a pack of cigarettes and offered one to his guests. “Most of these jobs are anywhere from 100 to 250 miles from any real civilization.”

The recruits were thinking, good…no supervision.

“The job can be a little dangerous sometimes.” Eric and Mickey gave each other the smile that said, ‘We laugh in the face of death.’

As the secretary popped through the door, the Ranger spoke as if he were conversing with the plant in corner of his office. “Yeah, we’ve lost fifteen men in the last five years.”

“Lost…lost…like they got lost in the woods…somebody misplaced them?” Eric glanced at the application; suddenly it looked like a coiled serpent.

The Ranger put on a serious face that could have come out of any horror movie. “No. Lost…like in dead, or at least missing.”

The
BookTube Your Shelf Daily Reader turns one year old this March. [Cue

YouTube.com

billion logged-in users visit each month. And each day, people watch
over a billion hours of video and generate billions of views. While
many people are aware of the music videos, make-up channels and
gaming channels on the platform, far fewer know about the great
bookish content available on YouTube. BookTube is a community of
content creators on YouTube that film videos about books. The

Once

Between
changes in YouTube’s algorithm and my book reading taste, it was a
struggle for me to keep up with my favorite booktubers and keep
a look-out for new booktubers. I knew many other fans of BookTube
were having similar problems.
When
YouTube changed it’s monetization rules in early 2018, many people,
including myself, worried about it’s overall impact on small content
creators. As I looked at my personal BookTube channel list, I
thought, “What can I do to help support and encourage bookish
content creators?” Then poof! The idea for The BookTube Your
Shelf Daily Reader popped into my head. [Yes, with a poof]. What
started out as an idea in March of 2018 has morphed into a passion
project with an online newspaper and email newsletter.

Old Lady Hawthorne, the town’s infamous witch and murderess lives next door

Monday, March 11th, 2019

div class=”separator” style=”clear: both; text-align: center;”>

The
Secrets of Hawthorne House
by
Donald Firesmith
Genre:
Teen Paranormal Mystery

Matt’s
life changes forever when a family of druids moves into the
dilapidated Victorian mansion next door. The story of an unlikely
friendship, the clash of two completely different cultures, secret
magic, and a search for the lost Hawthorne treasure.
Fifteen-year-old
Matt Mitchell was having the worst summer imaginable. Matt’s misery
started when a drunk driver killed his mother. Then his father moved
him and his twin sister to the small town of Hawthorne in rural
Indiana, as far as his grieving father could take from the ocean that
Matt’s mother had loved. At the new high school, three bullies are
determined to make Matt miserable. And to top it off, Matt learns
that the recluse who lives in the ‘haunted house” next door is
none other than Old Lady Hawthorne, the town’s infamous witch and
murderer. Matt’s terrible summer is turning into an awful autumn
when something quite unexpected happens. Old Lady Hawthorne’s niece
and her three children arrive, and Matt meets Gerallt.
My review

Matt and Tina Mitchell are twins who just lost their mother in an accident. Their father takes them far away from the seaside they love to the small town of Hawthorn. There they find themselves next door to the famous haunted house of the ghost of the gray lady. Matt needs some money and starts to clean the yard of the haunted house for Mrs. Hawthorn, getting to know her and her timid ways.

One day, her niece comes to live with her along with her three children. Matt becomes Geralt Hawthorne’s best friend and soon discovers that his family is not the common family he is adjusted to. Their secrets, their corky ways, no electricity, no games or computers make for an interesting friendship. Not only that, but the bullies at school are after them…they will have to pull together or be defeated.

This is a great, clean and entertaining story for middle grade and young adult kids who like mystery, treasure hunts and magic. It is nicely done by Donald Firesmith. I would keep my eyes out for the next book in this series.

Morning’s
Journey
The
Dragon’s Dove Chronicles Book 2

“Magnificent.”
~ Kathleen Foley, author of the Faith in Uniform series

In
a violent age when enemies besiege Brydein and alliances shift as
swiftly as the wind, stand two remarkable leaders: the Caledonian
warrior-queen Gyanhumara and her consort, Arthur the Pendragon. Their
fiery love is tempered only by their conviction to forge unity
between their disparate peoples. Arthur and Gyan must create an
impenetrable front to protect Brydein and Caledonia from land-lusting
Saxons and the marauding Angli raiders who may be massing forces in
the east, near Arthur’s sister and those he has sworn to
protect.

But
their biggest threat is an enemy within: Urien, Arthur’s rival and
the man Gyan was treaty-bound to marry until she broke that promise
for Arthur’s love. When Urien becomes chieftain of his clan, his
increase in wealth and power is matched only by the magnitude of his
hatred of Arthur and Gyan—and his threat to their infant
son.

Morning’s
Journey
,
sequel to the critically acclaimed
Dawnflight,
propels the reader from the heights of triumph to the depths of
despair, through the struggles of some of the most fascinating
characters in all of Arthurian literature. Those struggles are
exacerbated by the characters’ own flawed choices. Gyan and Arthur
must learn that while extending forgiveness to others may be
difficult, forgiveness of self is the most excruciating—yet
ultimately the most healing—step of the entire journey.

The
Dragon’s Dove Chronicles Book 1

What
if King Arthur’s queen was every bit as heroic as he was? Find out
by immersing yourself in this epic story of the power couple whose
courage and conviction would shape the destiny of a nation.

Gyan
is a Caledonian chieftainess by birth, a warrior and leader of
warriors by training, and she is betrothed to Urien, a son of her
clan’s deadliest enemy, by right of Arthur the Pendragon’s
conquest of her people. For the sake of peace, Gyan is willing to
sacrifice everything…perhaps even her very life, if her foreboding
about Urien proves true.

Roman
by his father, Brytoni by his mother, and denied hereditary rulership
of his mother’s clan because of his mixed blood, Arthur has followed
his father’s path to become Dux Britanniarum, the Pendragon: supreme
commander of the northern Brytoni army. The Caledonians, Scots,
Saxons, and Angles keep him too busy to dwell upon his
loneliness…most of the time.

When
Gyan and Arthur meet, each recognize within the other their soul’s
mate. The treaty has preserved Gyan’s ancient right to marry any
man, providing he is a Brytoni nobleman—but Arthur does not
qualify. And the ambitious Urien, Arthur’s greatest political
rival, shall not be so easily denied. If Gyan and Arthur cannot
prevent Urien from plunging the Caledonians and Brytons back into
war, their love will be doomed to remain unfulfilled forever.

But
there is an even greater threat looming. The Laird of the Scots wants
their land and will kill all who stand in his way. Gyan, Arthur, and
Urien must unite to defeat this merciless enemy who threatens
everyone they hold dear.

Love can last a thousand lifetimes when you’re an Immortal… or so they thought

Friday, March 1st, 2019
Stella
of Akrotiri: Deminon
by
Linda Rae Sande
Genre:
Fantasy

Love
can last a thousand lifetimes when you’re an Immortal… or so they
thought.

What’s
become of the Immortal Darius? His wife, Stella, worries about his
fate as she rules over their city-state of Deminon, especially when
she learns he’s been the victim of treachery. She’ll do anything
to get him back.

Enslaved
as a traitor to Rome, Darius is forced to fight gladiators as part of
the funeral rites of powerful Romans. His years of experience on the
battlefield serve him well in the arena—until he’s forced to
fight Marcus—a younger, stronger gladiator who is unaware of his
own immortality.

Sure
he’s about to suffer a defeat by the hand of Marcus, Darius is
forced to make a decision that will change his future and
Stella’s—preserve his essence by allowing his body to die so that
he can live on in Marcus. His two-thousand years of memories and life
experiences should be powerful enough to overcome the essence of the
untested Immortal. Allow him to return to Stella and resume their
life together, even if she won’t immediately recognize him.

But
Marcus isn’t giving up so easily. Especially when he meets
Stella.

Will
Marcus help Darius take revenge on the one whose deceit led to his
arrest on charges of treason? Or will Darius’ essence slowly be
subsumed, the memories of his nearly two-thousand-year lifespan—and
of Stella—fading away in the mind of Marcus?

These
Immortals once had all the time in the world. Now it’s suddenly of
the essence.
