1) What makes you passionate about writing?
I’ve had stories stuck in my head since I was a little girl. When I wasn’t reading, I was daydreaming. I didn’t start writing until I was an adult, but once I started I can’t stop.
2) Do you have a writing routine?
I don’t have a set time to write. In fact, this past summer and fall I haven’t been able to write anything, I’ve been so busy with family. But I promised myself that as soon as the holidays were over I’d write 100 words a day, at least, hoping it will lead to more.
3) What genre does your book fall under?
WINDOW OF TIME is a Paranormal Romantic Suspense.
4)What is the title of your book?
My most recent book is called WINDOW OF TIME.
5) Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition?
While I wrote the lead male character, I had just finished watching Pirates of the Caribbean the Curse of the Black Pearl, and I was all about Johnny Depp. When you “see” Johnny Cartwright, you’re looking at Johnny Depp. Don’t judge me! For CIA Special Agent Lucy James I see Jennifer Connelly, 5’7″, 31–ish, brown hair, dark blue eyes, pretty.
6) What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book?
CIA Agent Lucy James has a gift–she can see a brief glimpse into the future is someone is about to be killed and she has a brief window of time to change it–if she choses.
7) Is your book self-published or represented by an agency?
I will become a hybrid-author when WINDOW OF TIME is released. My publishing company, Stone Horse Press, LLC, has been working hard in getting this book ready. A hybrid-author is a writer who has been published traditionally as well as self-published.
8) How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?
When I wrote the first draft of WINDOW OF TIME it had over 900 pages–way too long for any book. That was back in 2003. Since then, I’ve rewritten it four times, and finally divided it into three books–a trilogy. Book two, WINDOW OF DEATH, will be published in April. Book three, WINDOW OF DARKNESS is in the rough draft stage. I hope to have it finished and published by summer.
9) Who or What inspired you to write this book?
Back in 2012, I had a dream of a woman who was being chased, who jumped off some outdoor block stairs in Paris. At least I think that is where it is. That one little scene inspired me to write this story–that turned into a trilogy.
10) What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest?
Believe it or not, in the story, Lucy has a reoccurring nightmare where she’s in a strange house as a six-month old baby where she sees her mother murdered. I go on to describe the living room in detail. I actually used a reoccurring dream that I had. A few years after I got this down in my computer, I ask my dad about that house. I describe it, and he was shocked. I was in that house only once while he and my mother said goodbye to their friends as they moved from Ohio–when I was six months old! We never went back. Whenever someone has doubts that a young baby can remember things, or places, I can testify that they certainly can—because I do!
