Snippet:

“When are you going to tell her?”
Tyler opened his eyes at Courtney’s question. “Tell her what, exactly?”
Courtney didn’t meet his eyes as she rummaged in her pack for something to munch on. “About what you are.” She pulled out a packet of granola and opened it.
Tyler’s eyes went amber for a brief moment, but returned to their usual blue. “I don’t know. One thing at a time, I guess. She’s already been through a lot. I don’t want to overwhelm her.”
“A bit late for that, don’t you think,” Courtney understated with a roll of her eyes. “She’s been attacked, knocked out, drowned, and who knows what else. I’m sure hearing you’re a dragon will hardly make a dent in the bucket, if you know what I mean.”
Tyler smiled at that. “True. But what if I’m not ready to tell her?”

***** Bod the Littlest Dinosaur written and Illustrated by Karlie Lucas

This is a cute tale of how a small dinosaur wants to grow big. He goes to see a wizard and travels through different places to get there. He learns several lessons on his journey to make his wish come true.

Beautiful colored illustrations are found in each page of this book. They are sensible, clear, and cute, not too busy or huge, just perfect for the page. This will be a great addition to any child’s library and can be used to read along with a parent, or alone by a child.

***** Bob the Littlest Dinosaur and the Color Fairy written and Illustrated by Karlie Lucas

In this tale, Bob the littlest Dinosaur wakes up one morning to find all the colors gone from his land. His new friend, the gnome, says it is the bad wizard. He suggests that Bob go to the land of the color fairy and ask them to return color to him and his land. The color fairies aren’t very helpful, with the exception of one. She is different, like Bob. Once again, Bob and the reader are reminded that we should celebrate our differences.

It is nicely done and well expressed. It is suitable for second graders and up, or read by a parents to younger kids.

Snippet:
Walter looked between the two, watching the invisible sparks fly. Leslie was a force to be reckoned with, but she was no match for Tyler. “You know,” he commented, “I would pay to watch you and Anwen have a go at each other.”
Anwen gave him a dirty look. “Really? What happened to being my friend? I thought you were on my side.”
The veteran shrugged, aware that the others had turned their attention to him as well. “Oh I am. I just think it would be interesting to watch. In fact, I’d pay good money for that opportunity. You’re not going to improve unless you can go against someone who’ll test your skills. Why not her?” He pointed his thumb at the Walker.
“Are you kidding me?” Anwen balked. “She’d make mincemeat of me! Even Courtney’s better at this whole mage thing than I am! And you want me to go up against the best person in this place? Are you insane?”
Walter only smiled as he folded his arms across his chest as he made himself comfortable. “You want to learn your craft? I can’t think of any better way. Margo would say the same thing. You know she would.”
Anwen shook her head. “Can you please leave my mother out of this? We all know she was an overachiever who pushed everyone to their limits. I really don’t need this right now.”

Shadows of Angels Blog Tour Image

Interview with L. G. Rollins

Tell us 3 fun facts about yourself?
I love baking desserts. I homeschool my kids, and I was homeschooled myself. And my favorite show of all time is “I Love Lucy” (I watch it way more than I care to admit).

How long have you been a writer or known that was something you wanted to do?
I’ve wanted to be an author since I was seven. But I’ve been seriously pursuing it for about four years. (more…)
