At first, June is stunned, but then, she is determined to move on to better things…like an unplanned trip to Paris for her job—where she falls deeply in love with a man from another part of the world. He wines and dines June; sweeps her off her feet; and ultimately, wins her heart. Their short romance echoes an endearing love. When she returns to the US, he calls her faithfully every day. Then suddenly, no call…

This beautifully written romance is complete escapism. Each of the characters has been well developed, considering the length of the story, and the dialogue revealed a great deal about their personalities. ~ Lesley Jones for READERS FAVORITE

popularity sparks his wandering eye.

Then
Brian reappears and they start up an unlikely friendship, giving
Timber just the boost she needs. As Christmastime approaches,
Timber’s wish is that her favorite holiday will bring about a
miracle in her fight to keep Soothing Bliss in its rightful home.
With a little compromise and dose of holiday magic, Timber wonders
whether she and Brian can work through their past and mend a
relationship that perhaps never should have unraveled.

decides to leave her prestigious job as a chemist and launch a beauty

father, isn’t happy with this decision. His disapproval leads to
their breakup, but a devastated Timber eventually finds love again

relationship and business begin to falter, leaving Timber
reevaluating Brian and pondering whether she should give him a second
chance.

To
My Readers:

A
story just isn’t a story without a large dose of romance and a
happily ever after. THE ROAD TO BLISS is just that. This novel is a
beautiful tale of love and second chances, with plenty of fun, drama
and turmoil in between! My main character’s love affair feels so
real to me, to the point where I found myself rooting for her in
hopes that everything would work in her favor. Writing this book was
a wonderful journey, and I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I
enjoyed writing it!

Baby
Love
by
Latiera N. Ford
Genre:
YA Coming of Age

Love
is a little girl who faces a number of challenges between her school
and her home. We all can relate to the pressures of not being
accepted by our peers, sibling rivalry, lost relationships and the
struggle to find love through it all. While directly pin pointing
these important issues, Baby Love serves as an open call for
awareness that can hopefully bring us one step closer to making a
positive change in the lives of all children.
This
book is a must read for young adults ranging from age 13 years
and older. Baby Love tells a story of issues that arise for young
children that include bullying, issues with family, and it also
teaches lessons on self love, acceptance, and kindness to one others.

Latiera
Ford is a career HR Professional turned Author and Entrepreneur. Born
and raised in the south suburbs of Chicago, IL., she has always taken
pride in hard work and dedication.
Through
news outlets, social media, family, and friends she noticed a lack of
sensitivity that children have today. This has led to an increase in
bullying, lack of positive self-image and acceptance, as well as
family issues. Upon discovering this powerful message that needed to
be addressed she decided to self-publish her first book entitled Baby
Love. This book provides children from ages 13 and up with a straight
forward approach to some of today’s most pressing issues. While
tackling the aforementioned issues plaguing some of our youth, it
also provides a direct approach on how they can be handled, while
also teaching lessons of love and kindness. Unlike the normal cookie
cutter children’s stories, this book is also honest to the core
with some of the real issues that exist within families across
America.
Baby
Love has proven to be a strong book for this Chicago Native, and is
destined to continue making waves throughout the literary scene.
While promoting this project, Latiera is currently in Atlanta looking
to further expand her brand through speaking engagements, press,
school, vendor events and more!

C.
J. Rose lives in Central Illinois. Originally from just south of
Chicago, Rose is not married and has no children. The passion for
writing took root in high school where she began writing song lyrics
and poetry. On top of literature, Rose has a keen love for all things
nerdy and sci-fi. On a quiet night, you can find her curled up with
an episode or Doctor Who, Arrow, Firefly, and more. C. J. also
belongs to a theatre organization located in her town. The devotion
to musicals and theatre has led her to be a part of over 10 shows as
an actress, and over 20 as a staff person. Lastly, because she wasn’t
busy enough, C. J. has her own bow company where she sells hair bows,
bowties, scarves, lip balms, key fobs and more.

When it comes
to her writing, it was an itch that needed to be scratched. While
working on a cookbook, and reading her typical fantasy fiction novel,
the idea came to her. She took the love of all the books she has read
and turned then into a novel of her own. Published by Burning Horse
Media in 2014, Generation Son: Bridge of the Gods was born. Selling
over 100 copies in the first month. In 2015, Rose finished penning
the second novel in the series; To Rescue a King. Being new to the
game, Rose has struggled to do most of it on her own. One thing she
vows, is to never give up.
The focus of the novel series is to
not only bring her fantasy and ideas to life, but take those stories
and make them a fun learning experience for the younger generation.

Do you know the Chicago Fairytale?

The
Fairytale Chicago of Francesca Finnegan

Genre:

Growing
up and getting trapped in adult life is something that most people
eventually face, but while reading The Fairytale Chicago of Francesca
Finnegan, a charming and magical book by Steve Wiley, it is almost
possible to forget about the inexorable progress of time. With a main
character who is teetering on the edge of forgetting about magic
forever, this novel is a touching and thought-provoking ride through
nostalgia, memory and the promises of youth. Wiley’s sharp,
tongue-in-cheek style of writing makes the pages fly and the Chicago
skyline makes a stunning backdrop for this mystical romp.
In
Chicago, a secret L train runs through the mythical East Side of the
city. On that train, you’ll find a house-cat conductor, an
alcoholic elf, a queen of the last city farm, the most curious wind,
and an exceptional girl by the name of Francesca Finnegan.
When
we first encounter Richard K. Lyons, he is a man who has long
forgotten the one night, when he was still a boy called Rich, when
Francesca invited him aboard the secret L for an adventure through
the East Side. The night was a mad epic, complete with
gravity-defying first kisses, mermaid overdoses, and princess
rescues. Unfortunately for Rich, the night ended like one of those
elusive dreams forgotten the moment you wake. Now, Rich is all grown
up and out of childish adventures, an adult whose life is on the
verge of ruin. It will take the rediscovery of his exploits with
Francesca, and a reacquaintance with the boy he once was, to save
him.
Half
of the proceeds from this book are donated to Chicago Public Schools.

What is True Death?

Sunday, July 12th, 2015

I began writing in high school after my family moved to Chicago from Michigan, leaving behind the first girl I fell for. I lost touch with her and knew she enjoyed reading books, so I decided that I would write a book and get her attention. At the time I wasn’t big into reading, in fact I had only finished one book series in my life to that point, but once I started writing I realized how much fun it was to create whole new worlds and watch the story play itself out on the pages. That girl and I have parted ways but I still thank her for allowing me to find my passion in life.

pic2

What makes me passionate about writing is being a creator to a world that never existed before I thought of them. To watch the story play out from my head to the paper and ink, its a feeling that is hard to describe. With True Despair, the third book in the True Death series I have written, I watched a scene play out differently on the pages them it did in my head, it was amazing. Seeing my story take on (more…)

Hi Daron! Thanks for being on my blog this week.

So, you write clean adult books…Tell us what’s happening in your life?

I’m just living the dream. How many people get to go to work during the day, then come home at night, take care of a honey-do list, spend time with family, and then lose themselves in front of a computer for hours while they imagine themselves in a different world, battling against evil and ultimately vanquishing all foes? It’s rare, I tell you. Actually, I shouldn’t tell you . . . those other worlds are top secret. (more…)

FOR EVERY ACTION There Are Consequences by GAIL M BAUGNIET

Saturday, February 25th, 2012

This is a great story about health policies and an insurance adjuster who investigates the people who submit claims. The story is not new, but the twists shown by Gail take a refreshing point of view. The tale is well presented and the writing is easy to follow. I would have to say it is pleasantly done, clean, and intriguing.

This book relates the story of Pepper Bibeau, a war veteran become insurance adjuster. She has seen first hand what war can do to young men’s lives and has dealt with her own war scars. She is sent to Chicago to investigate a possible fraud involving a doctor and the policy of a family he has treated. Pepper also needs to look into the background of the Tuarence couple. It is a case where the woman was killed by her husband and drugs may have played a big role. (more…)
