Sounds
of Murder
Pamela
Barnes Acoustic Mysteries Book 1
by
Patricia Rockwell
Genre:
Cozy Mystery

SOUNDS
OF MURDER tells a tale of academic intrigue and death. At Grace
University, a small southern college, no one in the Psychology
Department likes Charlotte Clark, so no one is particularly upset
when she is found murdered in the department’s million-dollar
computer lab. But because she discovered the body, Associate
Professor Pamela Barnes feels obligated to find Charlotte’s killer.
When she discovers a recording of the murder that was accidentally
produced during Charlotte’s struggle with the killer, she begins
her own investigation.

Along
the way, Pamela agonizes with her own conscience as she fights her
growing fear. She attempts to understand her mysterious Department
Chair, keep her curious colleagues informed, placate her protective
husband, and avoid antagonizing a local rube detective who belittles
her efforts–all while she struggles to make sense of the sounds on
the recording.

As
she gets deeper and deeper into her analysis—trying to connect what
she hears in the recording with sounds from people (and potential
killers) around her–she gets closer and closer to the killer.
However, the killer is observing Pamela’s efforts and resolving to
stop her.

For Murder
Pamela
Barnes Acoustic Mysteries Book 2

Who
shot the disk jockey while he was on air? No one saw the killer, but
many heard the murder on the radio. Local police are mystified and
ask Psychology professor and acoustics expert Pamela Barnes to assist
them in investigating the crime. Can she determine who shot the
deejay just by listening to the radio station’s audio recording of
the killing? And how does this crime connect to the impending death
of a wealthy carpet manufacturer hundreds of miles away? And the
driven behavior of his conscientious son who hides a very important
secret? Unknown to Pamela, another thread of this strange mystery is
about to unravel. Will she be able to solve it before another victim
is claimed?

In
FM FOR MURDER, the second in Patricia Rockwell’s acoustic mystery
series, we follow feisty amateur sleuth Pamela Barnes who doesn’t
let academic duties prevent her from fighting crime. And Pamela
fights crime with the tools she knows best—sound waves.

Voice
Mail Murder
Pamela
Barnes Acoustic Mysteries Book 3

Sex!
Knives! Voice Mail Messages!

Who
stabbed the philandering football coach in the back? Was it one of
the three women who left romantic voice mail messages on the cell
phone found next to his body in the motel room?

The
police don’t have a clue. None of the coach’s family, friends, or
colleagues recognize the voices of the unidentified women–and
probable mistresses. Who could they be? This sounds like a case for
Pamela Barnes, local Psychology professor, acoustics expert, and
sometimes amateur sleuth. Can she identify the three women (and
potential murder suspects) from just the sound of their voices on the
voice mail?

Who
are these mystery women and how did the popular coach manage to
conduct affairs with all of them unbeknownst to everyone around him?
And how did he keep his trio of lovers from finding out about each
other—or did he? It’s a tangled romantic web that ultimately led
to murder and Pamela Barnes is determined to figure it out.

Stump
Speech Murder
Pamela
Barnes Acoustic Mysteries Book 4

James
Grant, a young politician with everything going for him, including
the most recent polls, gives a rousing stump speech in a local park.
His campaign for mayor against the entrenched incumbent looks
unstoppable. That is, until the police discover him standing over his
wife’s dead body with the murder weapon in his hands.

It
certainly looks as if James is guilty. But psychologist and acoustics
expert Pamela Barnes has other ideas–and they include helping this
young man prove his innocence and succeed in his bid for mayor.

Can
Pamela’s knowledge of sound help her find the real killer and
exonerate James? Or will this young politician’s most recent stump
speech be his last?

Murder
in the Round
Pamela
Barnes Acoustic Mysteries Book 5

A
night out with her husband to watch her best friend perform in a
local community theater “in-the-round” production surely
shouldn’t be cause for amateur sleuth Pamela Barnes to use any of
her acoustic detecting skills. But when one of the actresses
collapses on stage and dies, Pamela finds herself in the thick of
things. The recorder in her purse making an audio copy of the
performance for another friend who couldn’t attend, may now prove
important when it’s determined that the victim was poisoned. Do the
sounds on the recording hold any clues to the identity of the
murderer? It looks like Pamela is on the sound trail again, and
she––and her pals in the Psychology Department at Grace
University––will not stop until they find the person who
committed this murder in the round.

Samantha
Jacobey –
Anyone
who knows me could tell you, I am a friendly kind of person, never
met a stranger and take up conversations any where at any time. I
work hard, and my mind never seems to shut down, as I wake up often
in the middle of the night with ideas pouring out and demanding to be
dealt with. Of course that means much of my books were written in the
middle of the night.

I
grew up and still live in the great state of Texas where everything
is bigger, where we have warm weather and a central location. I love
my state, my town, and my family, which includes my four sons, my
significant other, and many friends as well.

I
have thoroughly enjoyed writing the books that are currently
available and hope you will enjoy reading them just as much. And of
course, there will be many more stories to come.

Desiree
Scott
I
have been writing since I was sixteen years old and love to write
both horror and romantic suspense. I think there have been many
influences within my life that has set me on the path that I can not
help but walk. A few of those names consist of Karen Rose, Lisa
Gardener, Nora Roberts, Cynthia Eden, Catherine Anderson, Laura
Griffin, Andrea Kane, and Lisa Jackson, just to name a few. This list
by no means defines by own writing but they have indeed influenced my
desire to live outside of my own world and to create the thrill of my
dreams. I live on 40 + acres in the SHOW ME state with my six year
old daughter, with the wonderful addition of four dogs and a handful
of chickens. The weather is unpredictable, but the surrounding beauty
of the country helps my creativity as I sit on my top deck with my
laptop and coffee close by.

Kevin
J. Kessler
lives in Orlando Florida, where he owns the White
Dragon Podcast Network, which puts out weekly podcasts on a variety
of topics from Walt Disney World, to movies, television, comic books,
video games and more.

A
lifelong geek, Kessler can often be found at the many theme parks and
local attractions in Orlando.
He
developed the story for Rosinanti as a sophomore in high school,
sixteen years before the book’s release.
Since
an early age, Kessler has been an avid reader, often found lost
within the magical worlds found within the pages of fantasy novels.
“It
was always my dream to create such a world of my very own,” he
said. “Even as a kid when my friends would want to play Power
Rangers or X-Men, I would always create a new Ranger or Mutant rather
than portray an established character. There is power in creativity!
Creativity breeds creation!”

A.
Nicky Hjort

is originally from Arlington, Texas- the second of five siblings, all
of whom have strong creative talents. She currently lives in coastal
central California where she practices medicine as an Ob/GYN. In
between being a lovingly devoted mother and delivering babies, she
writes stories that cross multiple genre lines- from Sci Fi to high
fantasy, but all of her stories have thriller and strong romantic
components. And for her clever reader, all of her manuscripts are
subtly connected to each other, with their purpose to explore all
facets of Love and Light. She likes to say that her stories write
themselves, and in the process, often write her, or at least the next
version of her hoping to emerge. A lover of all the arts, A. Nicky
Hjort hopes her stories might inspire you to find your inner creative
genius.

As
for her heroes- they are as varied and eclectic as her choice of
narrative genres, but when pushed to list her favorite influences,
she would say James Patterson, Barbara Kingsolver, Patricia Cornwell,
Dean Koonntz, Gene Roddenberry, Shel Silverstein, Suzanne Collins,
and Walt Disney.

A brutal training to find the lost, protect those she loves, and harnessing this new power

Sunday, December 10th, 2017

Synopsis

To be extraordinary is rare, but to be unique is downright dangerous.

Rebecca Hunter thought senior year would be all about hockey games, parties, dances, and college applications. When Becca’s absentee mom dies, things take a drastic turn. She just inherited a super power, but has no idea what it is. And now instead of worrying about homework, she’s got a secret group from the FBI at her door looking to recruit her.

Her days of being an ordinary seventeen year old are over, because she’s one of a hundred people left in the world with superpowers. This covert group, Project Lightning, offers to train her, but soon they discover she doesn’t just have her mom’s power, she has more. And that’s never been seen before.

As they try to help her manipulate this new power, agents from Project Lightning go missing, and a few turn up dead. They’re being hunted. And when two men almost kidnap her, she realizes she’s being hunted too. What was supposed to be an amazing senior year has turned into brutal training to find the lost, protect those she loves, and harnessing this new power.

About Pam Eaton

Pam Eaton lives in the deserts of Arizona, but she’ll always consider herself a New Englander at heart. She graduated from Arizona State University with degrees involving education and history. While she loves history, it’ll always take a backseat to the fictional world she stumbled into as a young girl

She lives with her husband, two kids (with one on the way), and two crazy, but lovable labs. It’s a chaotic life, but she wouldn’t have it any other way. Especially since they let her read an insane amount of books, and watch way too many Food Network shows.

What does THE CHICKEN CATCHERS and WRITING FOR REAL-WORLD REASON have in common?

 the author…Mary-Ann Duke 🙂

Where are you from, Mary-Ann?

I am a native Floridian. I currently live in Sarasota, FL

I  like Florida. If you could travel to any time in history, when would you visit?

If I could time travel, I’d go to Jerusalem in Jesus’ time to meet him.

If you could have dinner with any of your characters, which ones would it be? What food would you serve?

If I could have dinner with any of my characters, it’d be Victoria Scarlett Jones and Jimbo Bean. I’d serve chicken and dumplings.

If you could travel anywhere on earth or off, where would you go?

I’d visit the Great Wall of China. (I’ve already visited the pyramids of Egypt.)

Describe your dream writing spot.

My dream writing spot would be high up (more…)
