Just as she starts gaining acceptance, she puts the other students in danger

Tuesday, June 18th, 2019

Parents to four wonderful children, Jerry and Stephanie Jaeger enjoy working together as J.S. Jaeger to write uplifting, entertaining stories.

Jerry overcame bullying to earn his black belt in Kempo Karate. He served as a special agent for the FBI and currently works as a prosecutor.

Stephanie ran her own accounting practice for several years before turning her focus to writing Scrolls of Zndaria with Jerry.

Together, they are excited to bring readers of all ages into the magical world of Zndaria.

Denya’s excited to attend the Healing Hands Academy. It’s her chance to become a handmaiden, help others, and live a life of adventure.

But studying at the Academy isn’t everything she’d
hoped. The headmistress and many of the students still look down on human
handmaidens. It seems as quickly as she makes friends, she has to say goodbye.
And just as she starts gaining acceptance, she puts the other students in
danger.

Is Denya’s determination enough to see her through,
or will she be sent home, back to the peasant life she’s trying to escape?
The second Short Scroll of Zndaria, Healing Hands
parallels The Golden Wizard and allows readers to see the magical world of
Zndaria through Denya’s eyes. Readers will be reunited with favorite characters
from the main series as well as experience life in the Redwood Forest.
Buy this book today to get a glimpse into the world
of Zndaria or delve deeper into the journey that began in The Golden Wizard!

Snippet:
Harmonia grinned at them. “All of these herbs can
heal the sick or injured, either on their own or as part of a mixture. Many are
common plants while others are harder to find. Some, if handled incorrectly,
can be fatal.” She motioned for the students to follow her. “To prevent any
unnecessary accidents, I’ll teach you how to identify the deadliest herbs
today.”
Denya’s concern changed to curiosity. She knew which
dangerous plants to avoid back home in Burrowville, but she hadn’t realized
some of them could heal.
In the rear of the greenhouse, Harmonia stopped at a
dirt-covered table bearing three different plants. She pulled iron tongs from
her pouch and clasped a long blade of grass from the first plant. “The
goldenslasher grows wild in the desert. Notice it’s several times thicker than
your typical grass and bulges in the center. It’s also sharp enough to slice
through flesh.”

Pulling trimmers from her pouch, she cut off a tip
about the size of Denya’s thumb. She switched the cutters for pinchers and
pulled a golden fiber from the center of the freshly cut blade. “Tea made from
this strand will settle the most nauseated stomach.”

Kramer
and Shadow Book 3
A
woman out for revenge. America took her husband. America will pay
10,000 fold!

Only
Kramer and his Anatolian Shepherd, Shadow, stand in her way. But
will they be enough to stop her?

The
advent of retirement opened a whole new world to me and now that it
has come to pass, I am turning my artistic bent from graphic design
and illustration to that of writing.
To
date I have published three books, KILLING SOFTLY (an erotic mystery
thriller), and begun an action crime series centered on two
characters, Captain Kramer, USMC and his Anatolian Shepherd dog, Sgt.
Shadow, USMC. Book One of the series is THE PITS, Book Two is YOU CAN
RUN, and at the time of this bibliography rewrite, I am working on
Book Three, LEX TALIONIS.

The
Kramer and Shadow series is an action, adventure, crime thriller
series that encompasses the world and has our two Marines fighting
hard against organized crime at many levels – but always involving
do-or-die confrontations.

My
hope is to establish a fan base for my writing so that my readers can
have an active role in helping me grow and develop as an author in
the years to come. I invite you to join me in this adventure.

A readersFavorite.com review.

This tale contains unnecessary swearing but it is not overbearing. It would work better with more dialogue so the information doesn’t feel to overwhelming. The method utilized usually slows down the tale and may lead it to become boring. You don’t want to lose your readers.

The story starts with a great first paragraph; (more…)

Dangerous Game by Keith Morris

Saturday, February 4th, 2012

We find in Dangerous Game a thrilling book about terrorists and the Olympic games that come to Utah for the second time. This story is well done, clean and has characters who are Mormons. I recommended it to all who enjoy thrillers, detectives and don’t mind a sprinkle of Mormonism here and there. It isn’t preachy at all, nor is it a conversion tool. What it is, though, is a great reading for all readers from pre-teens to adults.

It all starts when Peter is asked by the FBI to investigate a murder in rural Utah. This results in contingency with his job as a security officer for the LDS church. He not only meets the deceased man, but also the police woman who will become his partner in this bizarre case.

Why would anyone kill a God-fearing man and call the police to tell them where his body is? Just a few days later, Peter and his partner find that that there have been other cases like this one. All the bodies had been bitten before they were killed. Are they dealing with a serial killer, or some other type of villain who doesn’t care for human life?

8 Hooks that your readers can’t resist

Monday, March 23rd, 2009

Well, like I said in the blog before this… A battle scene is fast paced and you can make it a surprise attack or an expected battle. Just remember that you want to hook your readers fast, and not all battle scenes will do it by themselves. You have to make the readers care for the one who is losing and despise those who are winning. (more…)
