Unchained
Melody
~ Pamela Landers had it all, a senior
partnership with a top law firm, expensive car, and a luxurious
condo. What she desired most was a loving husband, children and a
life filled with precious memories that would comfort her through her
golden years. Funny how fate has a way of steering you down that path
where dreams really can come true. When Pamela encounters Gavin
Templeton along her journey, she has some life-altering decisions to
make that eventually lead her to happily ever after.

Strangers
In The Night
~ What happens when two strangers meet
in a crowded bar on a Caribbean vacation and one is disinterested,
while the other is totally intrigued? Fate happens. Only one role
will play out in the end. It will lead to either a happy ending, or
simply a chance meeting tucked away in a memory book. John Rinaldi,
doesn’t want to be just a memory. He’s determined to win the heart of
the beautiful and elusive, Samantha Michaels. She not only captured
his interest, but she proves a woman he’s determined to have in his
life forever. She just doesn’t know it yet.

For
Once In My Life
~ Christina Morandt spent most of her
young adult life perfecting her talent and then performing worldwide
as the prima ballerina for the Savannah Ballet Theatre. When she
decides to retire at the peak of her career, she returns to Savannah
to open her own dance studio and settle into a life of comfort and
solitude.

Captain
Garret Rickford is a seasoned Apache helicopter pilot for the U.S.
Army, who is awarded a head instructor position at the Hunter Army
Airfield in Savannah, Georgia after serving four tours carrying out
assault and rescue missions over Iraq and Afghanistan. He returns
home, while secretly battling the haunting traumas of war and the
death of his dearest friend and fellow comrade. She was raised on a
horse ranch in Wyoming. He was raised in the Highlands of Scotland.
They were opposites in so many ways, each never expecting to cross
paths with the other. But, they did, and when the spark of attraction
ignited, there was no extinguishing the passion once it began to
flame out of control.

My
love of reading romance fiction goes back to those early years when I
was raising a young family. It wasn’t until much later in life, that
I actually took up the pen to write and my first historical romance,
Wind Warrior was born. I don’t fit into one specific genre. When the
ideas start to flow, lord only knows what category they’ll fit into
**wink wink **

I
wish I could have gotten to this point in my career much sooner
rather than later, but life simply got in the way far too many times.
Because of those multiple detours, however, I have become a more
passionate and expressive writer and can draw upon those painful
moments in my past, when I need to create the kind of raw human
emotion I want my readership to feel.

It
is my hope you walk away with not just an entertaining read, but the
importance in knowing, “Without imagination & dreams, we
lose the excitement of wonderful possibilities.”

What is something unique/quirky about you?

I was traumatized by Jurassic Park as a kid and I still have nightmares about velociraptors breaking into my room and tearing me to pieces.

Tell us something really interesting that happened to you!

I hugged Captain America! As in Chris Evans! I attended New Orleans Comic Con in January 2017 and got a photo op with him and it was genuinely the greatest fifteen seconds of my entire life.

What are some of your pet peeves?

Rude, lazy, or discourteous customers. I’ve unfortunately been stuck working retail as a day job to support my writing and now I have an intense dislike for retail customers. Especially ones who either waste your time or explode on you for petty or idiotic reasons.

What are your top 10 favorite books/authors?

In no particular order, my favorite books are:

-Mr. Maybe by Jane Green

-Inheritance by Devin Grayson

-Helltown by Dennis O’Neill

-Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing by Judy Blume

-Earthrise by M.C.A Hogarth

-Paradise Lost by John Milton

-The Iliad and the Odyssey by Homer

-Sisters Red by Jackson Pearce

-Harriet the Spy by Louise Fitzhugh

-Metamorphoses by Ovid

In no particular order, my favorite authors are:

-Jim Butcher

-Ilona Andrews

-Brian Jacques

-J.K. Rowling

-Neil Gaiman

-Richard Castle

-Elizabeth Haydon

-Chuck Wendig

-Geoffrey Thorne

-Junot Diaz

What inspired you to write this book?

I was inspired to write Of Cinder and Bone by a very weird thing, actually: the 2002 film ‘Reign of Fire’ starring Christian Bale and Matthew McConaughey. It sounds bizarre considering that movie is aggressively awful, but the idea that it spawned is that not too many people write about dragons from an apocalyptic sci-fi view. I found myself in love with the idea of dragons being real animals that fit into modern day and so I found a way to bring them to life with realistic scientific methods and then decided to sort of study the idea of man vs. nature vs. God, much like what was briefly explored in the Jurassic Park film.

What can we expect from you in the future?

My future is planned out through about 2018 as of right now. The next book in the Of Cinder and Bone series, Of Blood and Ashes, will drop later this year, probably in the fall, but possibly in the summer if I finish it fast enough. I am also penning a novella for The Black Parade series that is going to premiere exclusively in an upcoming boxed set with other fantasy authors, but once the set is gone, I will publish it alongside the other four books in the series. After that, I’ll be writing the third book in the Of Cinder and Bone series and then see where I’d like to go from there for beyond 2018. I have an entire library’s worth of ideas, so it really just depends on what my fancy is at the time.

Do you have any “side stories” about the characters?

As I mentioned before, the upcoming novella for The Black Parade series is precisely that: a side story that occurs between the second and third novels of the series. I also have another short story for one of the side characters in The Holy Dark, but I haven’t decided if I will fully pursue it since it’s just a short story rather than a novella. I’ve put it on the back burner for now, but if I pick it up and apply full attention to it, then I may actually release another set of short stories told by side characters.

Where were you born/grew up at?

I was born in Atlanta, Georgia and raised in a metro-Atlanta city called Riverdale, but trust me, it has no relation to Riverdale from the Archie comics. It’s honestly no longer a nice place to live, but it was while I was a kid. My mother’s side of the family still lives there, and so I always visit during the year.

Cruise Tips From The Cruise Addict’s Wife

Tuesday, January 12th, 2016

Deb Graham was born in  New York state, and have resided in Georgia, Illinois, New Mexico, Hawaii, Idaho, Utah, and  lived north of Seattle for 27 years. She have visited 26 countries, and all fifty US states.

Deb in hat

I have written my entire life, as far back as I can recall, including a 3 act play in second grade that the class performed. I write copious letters, and I ‘collect’ neglected missionaries, having written consistently to over 130 of them. I’ve kept a daily journal for four decades. I write! My husband began publishing several years ago, and encouraged me to write a book.

Having never written a book, it seemed apparent I’d better choose a topic about which I know something. We enjoy traveling; Husband accuses the women in the family of having a Gypsy Gene; if there’s a place to go that involves a suitcase, or better yet, a passport, count us in! I’ve been on dozens of cruise vacations.

As we enjoyed multiple cruises, I realized I just plain know more than most of our fellow passengers we spoke to; likely a factor of my being a compulsive reader, as well as a writer. I have a fear of missing Something Wonderful when I travel, so I go well-prepared. As I interacted with travelers, amazed at how few know routine things (such as how to order meals on a ship, what to do in port, how to book the best cabin for their needs), I found myself thinking “why don’t they know this stuff?” I realized there was no one place to go to learn the things I know.

So I wrote Cruise Tips From The Cruise Addict’s Wife. It’s a travel book with a twist, loaded with tips and tricks on how to save money, while seeing more and doing more and knowing more than any other passenger onboard, laced with humorous stories gleaned from my travels. Currently, it has 215 reviews on Amazon, including profuse thanks from people who insist I changed their lives by writing this book. Not bad, for a first –time author!

cruisetipscoverfront

Mediterranean Cruise With The Cruise Addicts’ Wife is my newest book. We planned our first-ever trip to Europe with friends; a cruise, with private tours in all ten ports, plus stays in Stockholm, Venice,  and Barcelona. I take pride in being frugal —some say ‘cheap—and as usual, I wanted to see and do as much as possible, while saving money. As I prepared, I realized all my research was too good to waste!

MedBookCover

It’s in three parts. The book’s first section is the before-the-cruise planning and comparing, the middle was written day to day during the journey, insights, impressions, and  the people we came to know. Part three is afterwards, including what I did best, what I would change, and the dry details and comparisons on tours, so a person planning a similar trip could skip all that effort. Again, it’s laden with humor, stories, first impressions, and how anyone can save time, energy, and 45%-65% while having a better experience than most fellow passengers.

As an author, I think part of my role is to improve a reader’s life in some way. Often, a cruise is a once-in-a-lifetime trip, long anticipated, and I want travelers to make the most of their precious time. Both of these book accomplish that in style. I also think there are enough dry, yawn-worthy travel books out there. With my background in stand-up comedy, these books are different.

I’m currently working on my first novel, a cozy mystery set on –where else?—a cruise ship. Having never written a novel, my first step was researching How To Write A Novel, literally typed into Google. If I can do it, what’s stopping others? I’m aiming for a February 2016 release.

I chose to self-publish, after hearing the experiences of others with traditional publishing routes. Titles, characters, covers, even genres changed, and being under contract, they’re stuck. And for their trouble, their royalties are pennies.

We live in a time where self-publishing options abound, and it’s surprisingly easy. I wouldn’t do it any other way. For me, it’s been rather lucrative; we’re not wealthy, but that Mediterranean cruise was paid for, private tours, airfare, 5-star hotels and all, with my book royalties. I’ve also used book money to pay for two week-long cruises, along with new carpet and a remodeled bathroom in the house.

My advice for new authors would be to write. If you can string together a sentence, you can write, and there are so many helps out there! I’ve given seminars on self-publishing, and I try to be encouraging, because so many in the industry are not.  Due directly to my talks, I know of at least eight books that have been published, after languishing in a desk drawer for years, as their authors hesitated.

Please contact me at hideb@frontier.com if I can answer any more questions, and thanks for this opportunity!

Murder by Design by Betsy Brannon Green

Tuesday, April 9th, 2013

This is an intriguing tale of a small town in Midway, Georgia. It is beautifully written by a great author. The main character is a young divorced woman by the name of Kennedy. She is a university student that works as the head librarian and also part time in a storage unit, where she lives. Her mother is the sweetest woman and many times too helpful when she takes Kennedy’s time for granted.

Because of her divorce from the sheriff in town, Kennedy is looked upon (more…)
