The Holistic Gut Prescription is the most thorough guide to intestinal wellness

Monday, November 5th, 2018
The Holistic Gut Prescription is designed to be a simple guide to healing the gut, based on the following premise: if people give the body what it needs to heal itself and remove the obstacles to its cure, then within reason, healing will follow.

Nature Cure is not easy to employ, but it is usually easy to understand. There are only so many building blocks, and there are only so many possible obstacles to cure. The physician’s job is not to “make someone well,” but rather to facilitate the process of healing.

In this guide, Dr. Lauren helps readers recognize which obstacles to a healthy gut they face, how to remove them, and how to supply the specific building blocks they lack so that they can create their own personal path to optimal digestive wellness.

Review:
“The Holistic Gut Prescription is the most thorough guide to intestinal wellness I’ve seen to date. Readers can learn detailed programs to reverse leaky gut, chronic infections, candida and chronic inflammation. The book also gives deep perspective on how multifaceted the connections between gut health, lifestyle, and mindset are. Highly recommended.” —Alan Christianson, NMD, New York Times bestselling author of The Adrenal Reset Diet

Author Interview

  1. Given unlimited resources, what would be your ideal work/writing environment?Writing in an upstairs room overlooking a private beach with the windows open.

  1. Where do you actually work/write?On my couch or on my porch. 🙂

  1. How do you spend your free time?I love spending time with friends and family, working out (yoga and running), watching movies (my husband and I have an occasionally contentious movie blog: (estsidehecklers.wordpress.com), reading fiction or nonfiction, studying the Bible, having coffee or a glass of wine after a long day… and I don’t get to do this nearly as often as I’d like, but I love to travel! We go on 1-3 big trips per year, which is pretty awesome.

  1. 8. Do you have any advice for other writers?Writing is a discipline, like anything else. You might also think of it as a marathon, rather than a quick sprint… so you have to pace yourself. Create a routine–whatever works for you–and stick to it.

Can every day Women Inspire Women?

Monday, April 27th, 2015

Leslee, how long have you been writing?

I wrote and produced school productions in grade school and was always taking some kind of writing courses. I worked in the movie industry and then started my own production company. I wrote, produced and directed shorts and docs.

I decided that I was going to start writing non-fiction kindle books and my 1st book that I published this month became a #1 best seller.

Tell us where you were born and where do you live now.

I am a native Calgarian.

How do you know the idea is good enough to write a book about it?

You can do a lot of research for non-fiction and see what people are buying. Of course Romance always sells. I do my research and hope for the best.

This book was written because I had a business “Women Inspiring Women” and I wanted to (more…)

What do you mean The Urban Bike Story?

Wednesday, January 14th, 2015
Michael, what makes you passionate about writing?
That depends a bit on what I am writing! For my Urban Bike books, I think the passion comes from just believing in the subject. Bikes don’t pollute, they help you stay healthier and they let you be “out there” with your fellow humans even as they get you back and forth to work or just down to grab a few things from the local store! My passion comes from believing in that subject so much that I want to share it with others!

Do you have a writing routine?
Yes, my writing routine has changed once or twice, and might change again for 2015. I have plans to really get serious about the amount of work I publish this year so my current routine might need to change a bit to meet those expectations.
So right now, Because I commute to work on public transportation and/or by bike, I have found that for me, the Ipad is my best friend! It allows me to read relevant books, blogs or other articles wherever I happen to be. It also allows me to write most anywhere! Some writers complain about writers block or taking a while to “get into” the story. I understand that, but  also believe if you create a routine, weather that’s just writing at a certain time every day, when you do that a few times, you train your brain that her, it’s time to get to work! I find it very easy now as soon as I open that Ipad in a coffee shop or better yet in a quiet corner of the smithsonian, (What a great writing room right?) My brain is pretty much ready to go!
