What have I done? I was a fool not to wait for Mr. Whittaker. Oh, Gareth, if only you were here…

Thursday, December 6th, 2018

Arabella Sheraton grew up on a diet of Jane Austen, the Bronte sisters, and many other writers of that period. From Jane Austen to Georgette Heyer, Arabella has found both enjoyment and inspiration in sparkling, witty Regency novels. She also loves history and generally finds the past more fascinating than the future. Arabella wrote her first Regency romance to entertain her aged mom who loved the genre. Arabella is honoured to share the adventures of her heroes and heroines with readers.

In this delightful traditional Regency romance, Miss Diana Dashwood accepts an invitation to Lady Prescott’s Christmas party at Camden House, in the countryside. But things do not go quite as she imagined. Through an unexpected event, she is forced to spend the night in a woodsman’s hut with one of the guests. What a scandal!
Of course, Sir Gareth Blakely must propose, and he does. Unfortunately, Miss Diana Dashwood has already been engaged to and broken off her engagement from Sir Gareth Blakely after a bitter quarrel. Is it likely she will bow to social pressure and accept his proposal, one made only to save her reputation, and if they marry, does their union stand a chance of survival?
And what about the pretty heiress, Miss Jemima Plymstock, whom everyone thinks is the lady Sir Gareth had his eye upon? Headstrong and proud, Miss Diana Dashwood is caught in a dreadful dilemma. A must-read for Regency fans!
Snippet:
Diana stepped into the carriage as if hypnotized and sat next to Miss Plymstock. “What are you going to do to me?” she asked.
Mr. Rundle put on an expression of exaggerated surprise while Miss Taggart giggled behind one black-gloved hand. He stroked his beard.
“My dear Miss Dashwood, you are so imaginative. You make me sound like a villain in these romantic novels so popular with young ladies nowadays. I am going to do nothing to you. You will witness the marriage, along with Miss Taggart. I will begin my honeymoon with my lovely young bride, and the carriage will return you to town. Then you will, no doubt, make your way back to London and forget all about Jemima.”
He gave a leering wink.
“She will be too busy learning her new marital duties as Mrs. Rundle to keep up any acquaintance with you.”
He knocked on the roof of the carriage to signal the driver. Miss Plymstock moaned but did not wake. Diana looked out of the carriage window as the horses gained speed.
What have I done? I was a fool not to wait for Mr. Whittaker. Oh, Gareth, if only you were here.

I didn’t really understand what love was

Thursday, August 2nd, 2018

“Sally Britton is sixth generation Texan, received her BA in English from Brigham Young University, and reads voraciously. She started her writing journey at the tender age of fourteen on an electric typewriter, and she’s never looked back.

Sally lives in Arizona with her husband, four children, and their dog. She loves researching, hiking, and eating too much chocolate.”
“I didn’t really understand what love was.
I didn’t know what it meant, that I should’ve fought harder for it.”

Banished from home by her angry father, Julia Devon travels to Bath to fulfill her role as family spinster by assisting her cousin, Lady Macon, in caring for her dying husband.

Nathaniel Hastings’s life runs in a predictable pattern, until a routine visit to one of his ailing patients brings him face to face with Julia, the woman who broke his heart five years before in London.

Julia and Nathaniel find themselves unlikely allies as they work together to tend to the family’s needs, fend off Lady Macon’s scheming brother-in-law, and avoid confronting the pain of their shared past. But could this accidental meeting be their second chance at love?”

Snippet:
“Father did not approve and never would have. Nathaniel—Doctor Hastings—had dreams of becoming a physician. I could not ask him to wait for me, putting an added burden upon him, and I never
could’ve convinced Father.”

“But Julia, if you loved him—”

“I didn’t really understand what love was,” Julia said hastily. “I didn’t know what it meant, that I should’ve fought harder for it.”

The widowed Elise is a perfect English lady living within the confines of society for the sake of her impressionable young son. Her quiet world is shattered when she meets the impulsive and scandalous Jared Amesbury. His roguish charm awakens her yearning for adventure. But his irrepressible grin and sea-green eyes hide a secret.

A gentleman by day, a pirate by night, Jared must complete one last assignment from the Secret Service before he can be truly free. Elise gives him hope that he, too, can find love and belonging. His hopes are crushed when his best laid plans go awry and Elise is dragged into his world of violence and deceit. She may not survive the revelation of Jared’s past…or still love him when the truth is revealed.
The Guise of a Gentleman is a clean and wholesome Regency Romance, a.k.a. “clean” that explores finding one’s true self, loyalty, honor, and trusting loved ones. With plenty of swashbuckling action, it provides a several good twists that play off of familiar situations and proudly proclaims the redemptive power of love.

Snippet:
“You are a woman of great courage to face those cutthroats alone.”

His fingers closed around hers as if she were a lifeline. Her late husband’s hands had always been smooth and soft, the hands of a gentleman, so unlike this man’s calluses which bespoke hard work. She marveled at the strength in those hands, not to mention the tingles that traveled up her arm.

A flush crept over her face and she struggled to retain her composure. “I saw a cruel act and felt compelled to intervene. I could do nothing less.”

His eyes darted over her face and he said in a stronger voice, “Those men might have turned on you.”

“I’m an excellent shot.”

“And did you not consider that you may have been in danger from me?”

She suspected many women found him a very great danger, but not for the reason he spoke.

Swallowing against a dry mouth, she lifted her chin. “You hardly looked dangerous at the time. And I daresay you lack the strength to offer any threat now.”

The barest hint of a smile twitched his lips and a wicked light glinted in his sea-green eyes.

Ju Ephraime

Historical Romance, Time Travel

A
WARRIOR TOO ELUSIVE TO CAPTURE

He
is a Scottish Laird who lives in a world of Druid magic and ancient
customs, hand fasted to the sister of his rival clan, MacDougall.
Alasdair thought he was doing the right thing trying to bring peace
to the region. But he is murdered on the eve of his wedding. Not
willing to accept his death, his mother, a Druid priestess, performs
a geas to keep him alive. But something went awry because, as the
last word of the geas was spoken, Alasdair is trapped in time where
he wanders the earth for centuries. The only one who can bring him
back home is his betrothed. He has given up on ever finding her until
she walks into his office in twentieth century Manhattan.

A
WOMAN TOO STRONG WILLED TO TAME
Coira Ainsley is a happy-go-lucky
young woman living in twenty-first century Manhattan. Her job as a
travel agent takes her all over. She loves the work she does and is
excellent at it. That is until she follows her client into his office
and finds herself in the fourteenth century at Inveraray Keep in the
Highlands of Scotland. At first, Coira thinks a prank is being played
on her until she sees the giant, wearing nothing but a kilt and a
studded leather strap across his massive chest approach her. Not one
given to swooning, Coira finds herself welcoming the darkness that
come over her as she loses consciousness, without learning that the
naked giant is her betrothed from another time… another place. Will
she give in and accept what has been pre-destined or will she fight
to get back to the life she knows and loves?

A
Knight’s Love
The
Campbell Brothers Trilogy Book 2

Fighting
alongside his two brothers, Garvin Campbell of Clan Campbell is
content to remain in the shadows. After all, he’s lived most of his
adult life as a Knight Templar, and that requires him being in the
shadows, not seen or heard. “Non nobis, Domine, non nobis, sed
Nomini tuo da gloriam; (Not unto us, O Lord, not unto us, but unto
thy Name, give glory).” That was the rule of the Templars until
they were forced to disband at the request of King Philip IV “the
Fair” of France.

Many
of the Order’s members in France were arrested and tortured. However,
Scotland did not get involved in the arrests and prosecution of the
Knights. There was no recognized king of the Scots, and with the
Bruce having already been excommunicated, the Roman church had little
say in Scottish politics, so Garvin returned to his clan to use his
skills in the fight against the English for Scottish
independence.

Having
been told all her life to avoid the Campbells, the last thing Lady
Helen is thinking about is falling in love with a Campbell, and a
Knight Templar at that. She is aware the Templar Knight has taken a
vow of abstinence, so when Garvin Campbell comes to her clan to
deliver the decree from Robert the Bruce, Helen is unprepared for the
connection she immediately feels for the knight. She dismisses it as
butterflies at meeting a knight, but fate has other plans for her and
Garvin, as he becomes her reason for living and he forgoes his
training of remaining in the shadows as he surrenders to love.

from the land of the fae. He accepts that life in the Highlands with
his clan is fraught with strife and danger… that they will be
forever warring with opposing clans for Scottish independence. What
he doesn’t expect is that, like his brother Alasdair, he, too, will
travel through time to find his one true love, Lady Brianne
O’Connor.

Lady
Brianne O’Connor has vowed never to take a husband, and as she is
her father’s only child and heir, he does not dissuade her but
allows her to live as she pleases. After her new husband is murdered,
or so she thinks, she takes to unexplainable weeping, spending all
her days and nights in her bedchamber at Kilchurn Castle mourning
him. That is the only place in which she feels safe… the only room
where she can be with the love of her life. She is torn with grief by
his untimely death.

Tristan
comes upon a woman in a vision, and now he must find a way to connect
with her… a woman he is convinced he knows but, for the life of
him, can’t recall from where. Bent on finding the woman who stirs
his senses like no other, Tris will not rest until he can feel her in
his arms again….

Will
he succeed? Will Lady Brianne’s mourning finally be over?

~Award-Winning
Author~ Chloe Flowers writes historical women’s action and
adventure romance novels about scoundrels, pirates, and spunky,
independent heroines. She likes to challenge her characters by
tossing them the middle of actual historical events, or with real
historical characters.

Chloe
is a member of the Romance Writers of America, Northeast Ohio Romance
Writers and The Beau Monde Romance Writers group, where she serves as
secretary. In 2011, she formed the Sunshine Critique Group so that
she and other aspiring authors could motivate and challenge each
other to become better writers. Six members have been published. She
has given workshops and presentations on creating a critique group,
how to provide effective critiques, story structure, and
self-publishing lessons to writers groups, library patrons and
children. In 2014, she started her own small publishing company,
Flowers & Fullerton. Currently, she’s the publisher of record
for authors Sheridan Jeane, H.O. Knight as well as herself.

Whether
it’s dancing naked in a downpour at 3AM, zip-lining in a
rainforest, or racing ponies, Chloe’s always looking for the next
adventure. Her pets have always been named after favorite characters
or action heroes: Indiana, Luke, Gimli, Thelma, Rocket, Forrest, Al
Giordino, Severus, Mushu, Mérida, Gibbs, Jack…Dead Pool (he’s a
goldfish).

Chloe’s
biggest fault is her apparent inability to say “no” whether it’s
in response to a call for aid or a double-dog-dare to hike home
through 30 acres of a snow-covered forest at midnight…during a full
moon. It was early morning during said adventure when she came upon a
group of sheriff’s deputies searching for a lost girl. So, of
course she offered to help. Turns out, they were searching for
her.

In
addition to her addiction to adrenaline, she has a weakness for good
red wine, dark chocolate and brown-eyed guys with beards, which is
probably why she digs pirates and treasure hunters and writes about
action and adventure, pirates and romance (which is the greatest
adventure of all).

A
Montana Mountain Romance #1
by
Dawn Luedecke
Genre:
Historical Romance
The
Montana Territory is one of the last outposts of the American
West—where adventure as grand as the wide-open plains is around
every corner, and passion as wild as the land itself beats in every
heart . . .
Elizabeth
Sanders isn’t afraid of anything, except what will happen to her
beloved town if the Big Mountain Lumber Mill is destroyed. When she
overhears a plot to do just that, she vows to put a stop to it, even
if it means dressing as a young lumberjack to expose the saboteur.
There’s only one problem with her plan—her brother’s handsome
friend and fellow logger Garrett Jones, who arouses a desire within
her soul as fierce as the river rapids.
When
Garrett discovers that the odd new lad on the crew is in fact Beth,
he’s shocked. A logging camp is no place for a young
woman—especially the spirited beauty he’s admired for so long.
Keeping her safe is easier said than done, however, as the attraction
between them flares into true passion. As the danger mounts, Beth and
Garrett must work together to survive the last log run down the wild
rapids and claim any chance of saving the mill—and their chance at
a future . . .

Redeeming
Lord Ryder
Cotswold
Confidential #3
by
Maggie Robinson
Genre:
Historical Romance
Return
to the scandalous secrets of the English countryside’s renowned
getaway for R&R—restoration and romance—in this delightful
series from Maggie Robinson!
After
two months of treatment at Puddling-on-the-Wold, Mary Nicola Mayfield
has shown no improvement, and her condition seems impervious to
rehab. But Nicola is not the typical guest of Gloucestershire’s
destination village for the wealthy and wayward. The trauma of
surviving a horrific train wreck has rendered her mute; her injuries
have healed, but try as she might, she cannot utter a sound. With her
family and fiancé at their wits’ end, Nicola knows Puddling is the
resort—the last resort—that holds any hope for her recovery.
Lord
Jack Ryder—baron, businessman and, some say, mad genius—has gone
from the heights of success to hit rock bottom, after a faulty girder
from his iron foundry caused a dreadful bridge collapse. Nothing has
assuaged his guilt over the passenger train that crashed or the lives
that were destroyed. The stringent regimen at Puddling is not doing
much for his deep depression—until he meets his mysteriously silent
neighbor. Their fiery affair breaks all the rules, but will the
unspoken truth be too hot to handle?

Maggie
Robinson didn’t know she wanted to write until she woke up in the
middle of the night once really annoyed with her husband. Instead of
smothering him with a pillow, she decided to get up and write—to
create the perfect man—at least on a computer screen. Only to
discover that fictional males can be just as resistant to direction
as her husband. The upside is that she’s finally using her English
degree and is still married to her original, imperfect hero. Since
she’s imperfect, too, that makes them a perfect match. Until her
midnight keyboarding, she had been a teacher, librarian, newspaper
reporter, administrative assistant to two non-profits, community
volunteer, and mother of four in seven different states. Now Maggie
can call herself a romance writer in Maine. There’s nothing she
likes better than writing about people who make mistakes, but don’t
let the mistakes make them.

Author Interview

When did you start writing, and was there a specific event or person who influenced you to become an author?

I’m thinking it was in 1983. I was counseled against not to be a writer then, because that was before the advent of the home computers. So I didn’t pursue it at that time. I really set down to write in 2005 after reading a novel that was so bad I threw it across the room with a defiant stomp of my foot ( pretty awesome for a wheelchair bound individual.) I said “I could write better than this!” My hubby said “Then why don’t you?” That was how I started writing and although my early attempts will never see the light of day, I still have them.

How many books do you have out, and do you have a favorite?

I’m guessing seven. but my favorite character is still in the wings with my fantasy read. I guess Gideon is my favorite because I have lived with him longer than any of the rest of them.

How do you come up with character names?

Wow, I really don’t think of that much. I find myself looking at the name that scroll after a movie. But usually I have names that resonate with me for one reason of another. I remember Farley–that was a surname of a beloved author in my youth and one my sister came up with.

Do you have a favorite author?

I don’t have a favorite author. I guess I’m drawn more by the books cover.

What is some of your favorite or memorable books that you’ve read?

I’m thinking of Jane Austin and her Pride and Prejudice

What is one piece of advice you could give to a new author that you wish someone had passed to you?

Write up to the caliber of writing you would read yourself, over and over again. I never received that tidbit and if I had, I may not have my second book out yet but that would be okay. You see, I’m terribly disappointed in the caliber of writers that have flooded the market now.

Do you have any pets? I don’t have any pets currently although I had three shih-tzus recently. They have all gone the way of the world.

Mr. Withers sat across from them, a
stack of papers spread out for easy access. He first read all the parts of the
will that pertained to Grant, and then he read the parts that pertained to
Sybil. He then took an envelope, passed it across the table to Sybil, and
advised her to visit the bank after leaving his office.
“You deducted the money spent on me
in America, I’m sure?” Sybil asked as she tucked the envelope into her
reticule.
“Actually, I’d like you to consider
your time in America as a gift from me,” Grant said. He felt terrible about
everything that had happened, and if he could ease his conscience in any way,
he would do it.
She turned to him with eyes of fire.
“I beg your pardon?”
“Please, it’s a gift. You deserve the
full sum of your inheritance.”
She sat up a little straighter. “Do
you mean to tell me that I’m to consider the clothing and the stay in the
Palace Hotel a gift? Lord Douglas, that might be one of the most offensive
things anyone has ever said to me. No respectable woman, whether high bred or
low, would accept such personal things from a man. It’s insulting and
demeaning.” She pulled the envelope back out and tossed it at him. “I
respectfully request that you remove the appropriate amount of money from that
envelope, sir.”
Grant was thoroughly taken aback.
“Honestly, Sybil, I had no idea—”
“Miss James will suit, Lord Douglas.”
Her voice was so cold and her eyes were so hard, he had no reasonable choice
but to open the envelope and withdraw some of the money. He couldn’t remember
all the sums, so he made a guess and passed the envelope back to her. “Thank
you. Now I believe I’ll be on my way.”

A.S. Fenichel

Genre: Historical Romance

Pub
Date: 9/26/2017

An
unexpected promise . . . an everlasting passion.
An
accomplished musician, Dorothea Flammel has refused more proposals
than any London debutante; her only true love is her music. Dory’s
shimmering talent and beauty have long been adored from afar by
Thomas Wheel, an untitled gentleman who can only dream of asking for
the hand of a nobleman’s daughter. But when her father, the
insolvent Lord Flammel, arranges for Dory to marry a lecherous Earl
in order to pay off a debt, she runs to Thomas—and proposes
marriage to him.
Eloping
to Scotland saves Dory from a disastrous fate, but what is for her a
mere marriage of convenience proves more passionate—and more
complex—than either imagined as rumors, scandal, and buried
emotions come to light. And when a vengeful challenge from a drunken
and embittered Lord Flammel puts Thomas’s life on the line, will
the fragile trust between husband and wife be enough to save them
both?

A.S.
Fenichel
adores
writing stories filled with love, passion, desire, magic and maybe a
little mayhem tossed in for good measure. Books have always been her
perfect escape and she still relishes diving into one and staying up
all night to finish a good story. Originally from New York, she grew
up in New Jersey. She now lives in the southwest with her real life
hero, her wonderful husband. When she is not reading or writing she
enjoys cooking, travel, history and puttering in her garden.

Novikov is a princess without a throne. Her fiancé and her family
slain in the revolution, she flees Russia and finds herself working
as the head of housekeeping at London’s luxurious Grand Russe
Hotel. It’s a far cry from the glamour of her former life, but

Heather
Hiestand was born in Illinois but her family migrated west before she
started school. Since then she has claimed Washington State as home,
except for a few years in California. She wrote her first story at
age seven and went on to major in creative writing at the University

Heather’s first published romance short story was set in the
Victorian period and she continues to return, fascinated by the rapid
changes of the nineteenth century. The author of many novels,
novellas and short stories, she makes her home in a small town with
her husband and son and supposedly works out of her tiny office,
though she mostly writes in her easy chair in the living room.

TWELFTH NIGHT WITH THE EARL
Pub Date:
10/3/2017

When a headstrong beauty
clashes with the man she once loved, she’s determined that the
spirit of Christmas will open his mind, heal his heart, and perhaps
give them a reason to celebrate—for many seasons to come . . .
As far as Ethan Fortescue is concerned,
his family’s seat in Cornwall is only a source of torment, one that
he’s managed to avoid for two years. Now that he’s the Earl of
Devon however, he can close the door on his haunted past by locking
up the cursed place for good. But upon arriving at Cleves Court, he
is shocked to find the house aglow with Christmas celebrations,
filled with music and laughter. And right at the center of the
holiday madness is the infuriating—and eternally tempting—Theodosia
Sheridan . . .
Thea has always loved the town of
Cleves, especially at the holidays. As a girl, she also loved Ethan
with all her heart. It’s painful to see how his brother’s tragic
death has embittered him. Still, she will do anything to make sure
the town thrives—even if it means going to battle with Ethan to
save Cleves Court. Now she has only until Twelfth Night to make a
Christmas miracle happen—by proving that his childhood home can be
a source of love and wonder. But before long, she finds herself
wondering if she’s trying to save the house—or its handsome
master…

Sarah Hegger

Date: 8/29/2017

A light
in the darkness . . .

The
youngest son of Anglesea, the once idealistic Henry has survived the
Holy Pilgrimage, but lost all his deeply held beliefs in honor and
nobility. Captured in battle, he is sold as a slave into the home of
Alif Al-Rasheed, a wealthy Genovese merchant who has converted to
Islam. Bereft of faith, imprisoned in a foreign land, Henry has lost
hope in his ability to love again—until he lays eyes on his
captor’s beguiling daughter.

A
marriage of opposites . . .

To Henry,
Alya is a beacon of beauty he cannot ignore. But the heart of this
proud daughter of Cairo will not be won so easily. Divided by
religion, language, and culture, Ayla has little in common with the
disillusioned Englishman—and yet he has vowed to protect her life
in exchange for his freedom. As they embark on a perilous journey to
safety, their bond will grow—and be tested—in ways neither can
anticipate. For their greatest challenges will arise where Henry
least expects. With threats conspiring to divide them, will he find
the strength to stand by Ayla—and together will they find a common
ground on which to build a future?

Born
British and raised in South Africa, Sarah Hegger suffers from an
incurable case of wanderlust. Her match? A Canadian engineer, whose
marriage proposal she accepted six short weeks after they first met.
Together they’ve made homes in seven different cities across three
different continents (and back again once or twice). If only it made
her multilingual, but the best she can manage is idiosyncratic
English, fluent Afrikaans, conversant Russian, pigeon Portuguese,
even worse Zulu and enough French to get herself into trouble.
Mimicking her globetrotting adventures, Sarah’s career path began
as a gainfully employed actress, drifted into public relations,
settled a moment in advertising, and eventually took root in the
fertile soil of her first love, writing. She also moonlights as a
wife and mother. She currently lives in Colorado with her teenage
daughters, two Golden Retrievers and aforementioned husband. Part
footloose buccaneer, part quixotic observer of life, Sarah’s
restless heart is most content when reading or writing books.

Satisfied there was nothing untoward in my appearance, I made my way down to the drawing room, where my family always gathered before a meal. I passed a maid carrying a covered tray, Mama’s meal. I pursed my lips, not liking the thought of my mother eating alone night after night.

I could hear my family, Philippa above all the others, long before I reached the doorway. When I pushed the door open, she was in the middle of demonstrating some bit of silliness she had done earlier in the day. Stooped over in a ridiculous position, she glanced over and her face brightened with a broad smile.

“Luke!” she exclaimed as she straightened herself. “You look so grown up!”

“You are generous, Philly,” I said with a wry smile. I faced the rest of the group. Father was sitting by the fireplace with my older brother, George, standing at his shoulder. “Father, George. I hope I haven’t kept you waiting.”

I’d arrived downstairs several minutes early, so I was surprised when Father said, “I’m not the one to whom you should apologize, Lucas.”

Turning, I took a moment to study the seated woman. Her appearance was nothing like the kind of lady I’d believed my brother would choose as his wife, though she was pretty by any person’s standards. Her hair was blonde and curled around her face. Her figure was admirable, but it was the expression on her face that sent chills down my spine: one of judgment and disdain.

“You must be my new sister. I am delighted to meet you, ma’am. Welcome to the family.”

She shifted her blue-eyed gaze to my brother, refusing to acknowledge my greeting. “Rosamund, may I present to you my younger brother, Lucas,” George introduced formally. “Lucas, this is my wife, Rosamund.”

“So, the rapscallion brother finally decided to do his duty,” Rosamund said, returning her gaze to me. “Mister Lucas Bywood, I wish I could say it is a pleasure, but your reputation precedes you.”

Surprised by this greeting, I tried not to allow her words to annoy me. She could only have heard me described as a scapegrace from my family, but surely it was only said in a jocular manner! I may have chosen my own course in life, but I was by no means the disgrace to the Bywood family as she was implying.

“My dear sister Rosamund —I may call you Rosamund, may I not?” I stepped forward, caught her hand, and brought it up to my lips. The shocked expression on her face almost made me burst out laughing, but I controlled my features. “I have no doubt you will ensure my brother lives with absolute propriety.”

“What do you mean by that?” George demanded, bristling as he stepped closer.

Rosamund pulled her hand free of my grip. “Nothing at all, George,” I said, taking a step back. I glanced around the room and commented, “How quiet it is without Mama, Jane, Celia, and Jo here.

”My three older sisters had married before I had left for my Grand Tour, so I should have been accustomed to the reduced number of our family for dinner. Perhaps it was the lack of Mama that made me feel the change. The room just felt darker than I remembered it ever being.

“Isn’t that the nature of families, Master Lucas?” Rosamund asked primly. Her referring to me as “Master Lucas” made my lips twitch. Only servants called me that, and I doubted she would appreciate the comparison. And why was she referring to me as if I were a child? “Children grow up and make their own homes. You will, quite soon I am told, make a new start with your own bride.”

“Soon, you say? I’m afraid you have been misinformed, Rosamund. I have no intentions of settling down anytime in the near future.” I was amused by the notion until I saw my father’s face. And George’s face. And Philippa’s face? When it seemed no one else was amused, I stopped laughing. “Have I missed something?”

“You are engaged to Phoebe Ramsey, are you not? George told me you were.”
