PUTIN’S USEFUL IDIOT is a ride-along first person, present tense adventure jampacked with danger, passion and humorMonday, March 16th, 2020
Historical Espionage, Romance
1984, Richard Hart lands at Moscow’s Sheremetyevo Airport carrying
a dossier he doesn’t have security clearance to open, a map of
Moscow missing most of the street names, five ten-dollar bills
(probably dyed with invisible ink) and an American Express card.
Acting as a CIA “financial” agent, Hart must close a deal with
the KGB, rig the transaction to produce enough “black money” to
bribe KGB hard-liners to retire, and get out alive. And he only has
Colonel Putin there to help him.
USEFUL IDIOT is about Richard Hart, a self-centered materialist
living in New York City married to a woman half his age, dining out
every night at fancy restaurants and spending his weekends shopping
with his wife at expensive stores like Bergdorf-Goodman, Henri
Bendel, and Gucci. Forced to take an assignment to Moscow, he winds
up in an environment where money is worthless because there is
nothing to buy, food is scarce and for the most part terrible and
even drinking water is impossible to find at times. As he adjusts to
his new environment, he comes to find that his materialistic
viewpoint is selfish, and in fact unnecessary to his happiness, and
as he finds joy in the new friends and relationships he makes, he
transforms toward the collective.
is it all a set-up by his partner in crime V. Putin? Is he just
another Useful Idiot? As a counterpoint, while Hart is evolving in
his social views toward the collective, his Soviet counterparts
evolve toward capitalism because the free markets are coming to the
Soviet Union and everyone is going to need western currency to
survive. Inspired by true events, PUTIN’S USEFUL IDIOT is a

writing non-fictional papers and books, but it wasn’t nearly as fun
as writing fictional stories. They found it interesting to use the
aspects of technology that people are incorporating into their daily
lives more and more as a perfect way to create a good guy/bad guy
story with elements of travel to the various places they have
visited, either professionally and personally, humor, romance,
intrigue, suspense, and a spirited way to remember people who have
crossed paths with them. They love to talk about their stories with
private and public book readings. Burkey is also conducting regular
radio interviews with other authors, which is interesting. Her first

original series is based on a family organization called R-Group.
Recently they have spawned a subgroup that contains some of the
original characters as the Cyber Assassins Technology Services (CATS)
team. The authors have ideas for continuing the series in both of
these tracks. They track the more than 150 characters on a
spreadsheet, with a hidden avenue for the future coined The Enigma

frequently suggest that these would make good television or movie

Ground for Remorse is a cozy murder mystery by Misty Simon. Talli’s best friend Gina is suspect of killing the Gigolo with whom she had a couple of dates, and Talli has to clear her name. It seems as if Talli has a knack at catching murderers as shown in a previous book. She helps the police find the murderer the police didn’t have a clue. In this story, things get worse during the Gigolo’s funeral. A woman is found in the floor of the room where they will have lunch, a new wife appears as does another woman who is pregnant with his child. There aren’t many suspects in his murder and all the clues point directly at Gina.
Ground for Remorse is a great murder mystery with the right amount of bodies and suspense. It is a cozy mystery with a few cases of unnecessary swearing. It has quirky characters that enhance the tale, bits of humor and a lot of surprises.
All in all, I enjoyed the story and the characters. It is a fast paced book and moves flawlessly to the last page. In it you will find a great read for a afternoon in the sun or by the fireplace.
