Pauline, when did you first know you wanted to be an author?
That knowledge is lost in the mists of my brain. I expect it will bubble up closer to the end of my life, rather like the kegs in HALLELUJAH TRAIL (does that totally date me?). I began to seriously pursue writing in the last part of the 80â€™s. Gulp. I launched my writing â€œcareerâ€ with some bad essays, then moved into scriptwriting. That went better than the essays. I had a play produced. Realized it was not an economic path and moved into fiction and non-fiction. My first sale was a childrenâ€™s story. My second sale was kidâ€™s non-fiction. Tried my hand at womenâ€™s short fiction. Then the First Gulf War started, I was watching it and (more…)
