In 1776, the American rebels were thwarted by British magic. The leaders were executed, but the surviving soldiers went into hiding and kept the revolution alive. By 1984 they have developed better weapons and machinery to even the odds. Now all these “technomancers” need is an army for their arsenal, and their newest recruit is 15 year-old Calvin Adler of Baltimore. The problem is, he’s got a pretty strong will, and might give the technomancers at bit of trouble in training…
Calvin learns that the technomancers aren’t all good guys like he’d thought, and soon runs afoul of the worst of them. Now, with a bomb in his chest and a lot of ground to cover, he has a little over a week to save his life, or else become another casualty in the revolution. Meanwhile, an old enemy comes back stronger than ever, with ambition to spare…
Calvin is on the brink of death. The army is scattered, the commodore is dead, and the British mages know about the technomancers’ secret weapon. Just as all hope seems lost, Calvin and his friends find out the mages have a weakness, one that could end the war overnight and liberate the colonials.
But it will take a miracle to reach it…
Graham, how long have you been writing? I started in 1993 as a third grader, but started pursuing it seriously about ten years ago and I’ve been trying to get better ever since.
Wow! Tell us where you were born and where do you live now. Southern California then, Southern Nevada now. I am very much a product of the desert.
Who has made the greatest difference for you as a writer? Oh jeez. There is no right answer to this! I have been blessed with many great influences and mentors. I guess my third grade teacher was the one who really started this whole thing though. I give her lots of credit.
What is the name of your Serie? and what genre? The series is “Engines of Liberty,” and the books are REBEL HEART, SUICIDE RUN, and PATRIOT’S Â GAME. They are a bit of fantasy, alternate history, and steampunk. Aimed at YA but good for all ages.
Tell us more about it. Perhaps a back cover blurb. The Brits used magic to win the American Revolution in 1776. Two hundred years later the Americans have built a huge army with steam and gas engines, plus a ton of firepower, and they want a rematch. Romance and adventure abound!
So interesting… What kind of impact do you expect your works to have in the reader’s lives? Take an interest in history and open your imagination. I was a diligent daydreamer in my childhood and it brings me immense joy, I hope others take it up.
