Ideal High–can that be possible?

Monday, April 25th, 2016
Valerie, tell us where you were born and where do you live now.
Born in Richland, Washington/live in Mesa, AZ
What makes you passionate about writing?
I love a good story–I love reading one, and I love creating one that I hope others will love

How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?
8 years actually, but that was just working on it in bits and pieces
Who or What inspired you to write this book?
Two things: a story in the newspaper about a bus accident killing students returning from a school trip and remembering a girl from high school that no one ever talked to or seemed to care about. I felt bad that I had never tried to say anything nice to her. That got me wondering what would happen if there was a tragedy involving a bunch of high school kids and how would that affect the rest of the student body. Would everyone treat each other better?

The name of my book is Indigo Traveler

Interesting. What genre does your book fall under?

It is a fantasy. I prefer to call it a Spiritual Fantasy because my characters are seeking to find the spirit within themselves as well as the spiritual outside of them. In turn, they are encouraged to see the spirit within others. It doesn’t prescribe to any one faith, but an universal spiritual perspective which I hope others will be able to relate to.
