Kate and Michael have been together for a few years. They are getting close to tying the knot…at least that is what Kate believes when all comes crashing down. Michael has a secret that will keep them apart, but it is not going to be easy nor cheap. And to prove that possibility, Kate will have to use all her investigative power to keep Michael out of the electric chair.

Pre-meditated Murder by Tracy Weber is one of the best books I have read in her Downward Dog Mystery series. I read two other books in this series and this one is my favorite. The otherwise clean tale contains a few unnecessary swear words. It is well-written and entertaining to the last page. Mysteries fans be they YA or Adults will enjoy this tale and its telling. Pre-meditated Murder by Tracy Weber is a good book to add to your personal or other wise library.

Anthony
Hollownton Series Book 2

Life
was finally getting back to normal…almost

Two
months ago homicide detective Anthony Hollownton was forcibly thrown
into the supernatural world. A world that has been eerily silent ever
since.

His
partner is back but will never be the same. Talking about seeing
things Tony knows are real.

At
least it is the Fourth of July and patrolling the festivities should
be a cake walk.

Wrong.

A
mutilated body is stumbled upon and now it is all Tony can do not to
jump to supernatural conclusions. Is his jarring previous case making
him paranoid or is there more to this murder than meets the eye?

She can only hope to survive the danger she faces

Thursday, November 16th, 2017

Thirty-four year old Vicki Laramie must learn to trust before she can love, but she might die trying.

While Vicki’s children grapple with the death of their father
— a man whom she’s successfully fabricated as loving, a lie her rebellious teenager recognizes — she must find a way to support her family and find a
role model for her boys. She never intends to fall for Staff Sergeant Chase, her best friend’s son, who suffers from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
She’d much rather choose a safer man to love, but her children have a voice in the decision she makes. With two deaths to deal with, a suitor after her money, a rebellious son, and Sergeant Chase’s repeated attacks, she can only hope to survive the danger she faces. If she doesn’t, her children will be left without either parent.

Author Interview

When did you start writing, and was there a specific event or person who influenced you to become an author?

I’m thinking it was in 1983. I was counseled against not to be a writer then, because that was before the advent of the home computers. So I didn’t pursue it at that time. I really set down to write in 2005 after reading a novel that was so bad I threw it across the room with a defiant stomp of my foot ( pretty awesome for a wheelchair bound individual.) I said “I could write better than this!” My hubby said “Then why don’t you?” That was how I started writing and although my early attempts will never see the light of day, I still have them.

How many books do you have out, and do you have a favorite?

I’m guessing seven. but my favorite character is still in the wings with my fantasy read. I guess Gideon is my favorite because I have lived with him longer than any of the rest of them.

How do you come up with character names?

Wow, I really don’t think of that much. I find myself looking at the name that scroll after a movie. But usually I have names that resonate with me for one reason of another. I remember Farley–that was a surname of a beloved author in my youth and one my sister came up with.

Do you have a favorite author?

I don’t have a favorite author. I guess I’m drawn more by the books cover.

What is some of your favorite or memorable books that you’ve read?

I’m thinking of Jane Austin and her Pride and Prejudice

What is one piece of advice you could give to a new author that you wish someone had passed to you?

Write up to the caliber of writing you would read yourself, over and over again. I never received that tidbit and if I had, I may not have my second book out yet but that would be okay. You see, I’m terribly disappointed in the caliber of writers that have flooded the market now.

Do you have any pets? I don’t have any pets currently although I had three shih-tzus recently. They have all gone the way of the world.

Her next gig may last a lifetime–behind bars

Monday, July 24th, 2017

Synopsis:
“Yogi Kate must clear her name of murder in this charming yoga mystery

When Kate Davidson gets an offer to teach yoga classes to wedding guests at the Elysian Springs resort, she jumps at the opportunity, even though it means being forced to endure the wedding ceremony of the center’s two caretakers.

Avoiding the M-word turns out to be the least of Kate’s problems when a wedding guest is found floating face-down in the resort’s hot tub, shortly after a loud, public (and somewhat embarrassing) fight with Kate. The police pick Kate as their number-one suspect, so she’s forced to team up with boyfriend Michael, best friend Rene, and German shepherd sidekick Bella to find the real killer. But they’ll have to solve the murder before the police arrest Kate, or her next gig may last a lifetime–behind bars.”

My review of the audio

A Killer Retreat by Tracy Weber is a light mystery with a bit of romance. I reviewed the audiobook. It was offered to me for my honest opinion. The narrator has a pleasant voice. The characters are well done. The story is read by the narrator, not acted out. She doesn’t scream when the character screams she just says “She screamed”. I enjoyed the clean sound of the story.

My review of the book Murder Strikes a Pose ****

A Killer Retreat by Tracy Weber, Book Two in the Downward Dog Mystery Series. I enjoyed this tale, though I didn’t as much as the first one “Murder Strikes A Pose.” The yoga studio owner Kate Davidson, goes to teach yoga to an island were the owners of a resort are getting married. She brings her boyfriend Michael and her special needs dog, Bella. The wedding party is all there and some of the people are plain rude, as is the step mom who gets killed. This shouldn’t result in a problem, but our yoga instructor was seen twice by a bunch of people in heated argument with the woman. All signs point to her and she is in trouble.

This is a nice story line that will entertain you and give you a few laughs. A Killer Retreat however has more about the yoga instructor’s personality and I didn’t like her. She whines way to much about everything, and it got tiresome after the first few chapters…In my opinion. The other thing I noticed was that the murder didn’t happen soon enough to keep my attention. The whines got to me first. A bit slow on the start, it led to a bit of disappointment in the book, though it is a good book. A Killer Retreat by Tracy Weber will be enjoyed by many murder mystery fans.
