Home
is where the heart is … or the hatred.

You
can feel the love and care someone puts into their home just by
walking into it. Equally, you can feel the hatred and malice when you
step into a home where dark deeds have been done.
Alex
and his team of so-called paranormal investigators are given the
opportunity of a lifetime when they are able to film inside one of
the most haunted, and cursed, locations in their area.

The Jackson
Mansion.

The thing that makes this mansion truly unique is that it
is built completely underground. Determined to uncover the dark
secrets of the mansion’s past, and prove himself a notable
investigator, Alex doesn’t care what it takes. The mansion, however,
has other ideas, as well as some rather restless occupants.

Athina
Paris lives in South Africa but spent her formative years in
Mozambique, where she was born and went to school. Years in convents
and boarding schools prompted a deep curiosity and the need to
liberate her mind, which quickly developed into an avid interest in
reading and storytelling and led to a lifelong obsession with the
written word and books. By fifteen she had read most of the classics,
discovered ancient civilizations and became fascinated with various
mythologies; a love she has kept to this day.

Raised
in a culture where meddling is seen as ‘caring’, she became a
spectator of human nature. Quiet and shy, she preferred recording
conduct rather than participating in what she calls familial mass
hysteria, and so built a treasure-trove of relationship observations
from which she eventually drew backgrounds for the characters in her
romantic novels.

She
studied Interior Design, but soon felt the pull of her dormant talent
and turned to Creative Writing, as she realised the significance of
those notebooks packed with ideas. She soon followed it with
Scriptwriting.

Set
in faraway and exotic places, Athina’s epic romantic work takes her
characters on voyages of self-discovery while dealing with
catastrophic love lives and an imperfect world.

A
stint as a high school English teacher polished her skills. However,
she has recently vacated the position to concentrate on her
professional goals of writing, editing and proofreading.

If you enjoy intrigue, conspiracy and romantic suspense, Ragnarok will grip your imagination and not let go

Wednesday, April 17th, 2019
Ragnarok
Worlds
Collide Book 1
by
Michael Smorenburg
Genre:
Fantasy, Romantic Suspense

A
secret NASA experiment gone wrong, the chaos that erupts, and one
reporter seeking the truth who chases leads where she shouldn’t.

On
a flight from Paris to Los Angeles Tegan Mulholland is intrigued &
charmed by Pete, the mysterious stranger sitting beside her. But when
their plane almost falls from the sky and other jets in her vicinity
wink from the radar, the official explanations that follow reek to
Tegan’s retired investigative journalist mind of cover up.

What
is not declared:

A
secret NASA experiment has warped a column of time instead of space,
plucking with it the planes out of our era, and a band of Norse
warriors from the Vinland colony millennia ago into our epoch.

Rowing
eastward and back to Iceland, the contrail of Tegan’s plane appearing
after the strange aurora and moving westward high above, the Norsemen
conclude are Odin’s order to return to Vinland and unknowingly toward
the modern day Canadian coast, where, just days–yet a thousand years
before–the
skraeling Indians
had driven them out.

As
news reports flood Tegan’s living room of bloodshed and massacre,
speculating about which gang of roughly dressed bearded marauders are
responsible for mass-murder around the quiet Canadian coast, Tegan
develops a hunch that there is more to the story than it seems. She
quits her Hollywood Exec job and embarks on an odyssey that leads
inexorably ever closer toward the Norsemen’s hidden lair.

Only
Pete, the Lockheed consultant she had steadily fallen in love with
during the harrowing flight and since, has any hope of saving
her.

If
you enjoy intrigue, conspiracy and romantic suspense, Ragnarok will
grip your imagination and not let go.

Kalinda and Zack work together to solve the puzzle of the ghost and how it all ties in with the war

Thursday, October 18th, 2018

I have been reading love stories for as long as I can remember and when I ‘met’ the classic authors like Jane Austen, Elizabeth Gaskell, Henry James The Brontë sisters, etc. during my Honours studies, I was hooked for life.

I married my college boyfriend and soul mate and after 43 years, 3 interesting and wonderful children and 3 beautiful grandchildren, he still makes me weak in the knees. We are fortunate to live in the picturesque little seaside village of Betty’s Bay, South Africa with the ocean a block away and a beautiful mountain right behind us. And although life so far has not always been an easy ride, it has always been an exiting and interesting one!

I like the heroines in my stories to be beautiful, feisty, independent and headstrong.  And the heroes must be strong but possess a generous amount of sensitivity. They are of course, also gorgeous!  My stories typically incorporate the family background of the characters to better understand where they come from and who they are when we meet them in the story.

“Kalinda Evans works for the Anglo-Boer war foundation in Canada. She’s sent to South Africa to make sure everyone who lost their lives in the war will be remembered. On her drive to the guest farm in Kimberley, South Africa, Kalinda picks up a female hitchhiker and is startled when just moments later, the woman vanishes. Kalinda would be convinced she was dreaming…except there’s still a white lace handkerchief on the passenger seat.
Extreme sports enthusiast and computer game designer Zack Carter is always after the next big challenge. He’s far too busy for romance and adheres to a three-date rule, until he meets his parents’ latest guest. When she relays the story of her mysterious experience, Zack’s family shares the local ghost story. Kalinda and Zack work together to solve the puzzle of the ghost and how it all ties in with the war and the work Kalinda is doing.
As their attraction grows, Zack realizes he no longer feels the need to prove anything to himself. He only needs to prove to Kalinda that he’s more than a good time.”

Snippet:
This Kalinda intrigued him. She was beautiful, gorgeous really. But he
didn’t like the odd knot in his tummy when he’d seen her for the first time.
And the fist of desire that followed took him by surprise. He wanted to touch
her. But when he picked up her hand, a strange thing happened – for the first
time in his life, he couldn’t talk. Words that usually came easily to him got
stuck in his throat, his mouth was dry and for a minute he was completely
thrown.

That had never happened before. For once, he couldn’t remember one of
his usual witty remarks.

Kay may never get to tell the story if she can’t find her way home, is forced to stay, or in doing either, she dies

Friday, June 29th, 2018

College student Kay Morowa goes up against warlords, poachers and human traffickers in The Phoenix Rising – Destiny Calls.

After Kay’s parents reveal that they haven’t been honest with her about her past, Kay flies to South Africa feeling bitter and anxious. Her excitement on arrival is cut short when she becomes a victim of a human trafficking ring operated by a large-scale poaching operation.

Kay flees and finds her way to a dazzling refuge called Ipharadisi. There, she meets the majestic, menacing Queen Zaina and a handsome doctor named Erec.

Although impressed by Ipharadisi’s beauty and noble reason for existence, Kay’s sole desire is to return home to her college beau (whom she has much unsettled business with) and to her mom and dad, whom Kay never thought she could miss so much.

If Kay can survive the hand-to-hand combat she’ll need to learn to survive, she may just become the kind of peace-seeking hero her classmates would never believe. However, Kay may never get to tell the story if she can’t find her way home, or if she is forced to stay, or worse, if in doing either, Kay dies.

Born
in Germany in 1976, Toni Cox moved to South Africa in 1991. Although
she has spent much of her working career in the timber wholesale
business, she is also an accomplished horse rider, has a diploma in
project management, photography and nutrition, and has a passion for
books and all things fantasy.

From a young age, her dream had
always been to put her imagination into words – give the stories
life. When she was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis in 2013, she
decided life is too short not to follow her dream. So, with the
support of her husband and three children, she began writing book 1
of the Elemental Trilogy in January 2015.
The Elemental Saga
is a fantasy story spanning over 35 books. These stories all take
place on the various Life Planets of the Milky Way galaxy. The first
4 books were published between 2016 – 2017, with 5 more books coming
in 2018.
The Andromeda Saga takes place in the Andromeda
galaxy and will be a mix of sci-fi and fantasy. Hopefully, by 2020,
we will see the first books of this saga published.
Toni Cox
also writes dystopian fantasy, and her first novel, Resilient, is due
for release in 2018.

Henry lost hope—until he lays eyes on his captor’s beguiling daughter

Tuesday, September 26th, 2017
RELEASING
HENRY
Sir
Arthur’s Legacy #5
by
Sarah Hegger

Genre: Historical Romance

Pub
Date: 8/29/2017

A light
in the darkness . . .

The
youngest son of Anglesea, the once idealistic Henry has survived the
Holy Pilgrimage, but lost all his deeply held beliefs in honor and
nobility. Captured in battle, he is sold as a slave into the home of
Alif Al-Rasheed, a wealthy Genovese merchant who has converted to
Islam. Bereft of faith, imprisoned in a foreign land, Henry has lost
hope in his ability to love again—until he lays eyes on his
captor’s beguiling daughter.

A
marriage of opposites . . .

To Henry,
Alya is a beacon of beauty he cannot ignore. But the heart of this
proud daughter of Cairo will not be won so easily. Divided by
religion, language, and culture, Ayla has little in common with the
disillusioned Englishman—and yet he has vowed to protect her life
in exchange for his freedom. As they embark on a perilous journey to
safety, their bond will grow—and be tested—in ways neither can
anticipate. For their greatest challenges will arise where Henry
least expects. With threats conspiring to divide them, will he find
the strength to stand by Ayla—and together will they find a common
ground on which to build a future?

Born
British and raised in South Africa, Sarah Hegger suffers from an
incurable case of wanderlust. Her match? A Canadian engineer, whose
marriage proposal she accepted six short weeks after they first met.
Together they’ve made homes in seven different cities across three
different continents (and back again once or twice). If only it made
her multilingual, but the best she can manage is idiosyncratic
English, fluent Afrikaans, conversant Russian, pigeon Portuguese,
even worse Zulu and enough French to get herself into trouble.
Mimicking her globetrotting adventures, Sarah’s career path began
as a gainfully employed actress, drifted into public relations,
settled a moment in advertising, and eventually took root in the
fertile soil of her first love, writing. She also moonlights as a
wife and mother. She currently lives in Colorado with her teenage
daughters, two Golden Retrievers and aforementioned husband. Part
footloose buccaneer, part quixotic observer of life, Sarah’s
restless heart is most content when reading or writing books.
