Historical Romance Series: Stories of Rebels, Adventure, and Mystery
The Rebel Series is a mixture of romance and adventure. Each book, set in the late 1700s, is a love story with mystery and suspense as a young couple and their rebel friends strive to help their country. The romance in this series can be enjoyed by young and old alike. For those who enjoy strong women characters, all three books have this in common. They are independent women who have an opinion and are not afraid to express it. The heroes in this series are rebels with a sense of justice. They are chivalrous and their feelings run deep for the young women they’re in love with.
In The Rebels of Cordovia, centuries after the legendary Robin Hood, a group of men and women find themselves fighting for the same cause. In this battle for freedom, a tender love story begins to blossom. Daniel, a rogue and a leader of the Freemen, doesn’t realize that the sweet feminine woman he has met and is falling for happens to be the leader of Robin’s Rebels. Realizing the importance of uniting all the rebel groups, Daniel tries to recruit Robin’s Rebels but they refuse. Now he has to find a way to convince them. When he finds out the leader is actually a woman, what will his reaction be?
What a fun and interesting tale The Rebels of Cordovia is. A very good story to keep you glued all the way to the end. I really enjoyed the romance mingled with the fights. It is a well-paced tale to give you entertainment for a warm day on summer at the beach, or next to a warm fire in the rain. Linda writes a good, clean, and sweet romance, for young adults and adults alike. You will enjoy the story to the end.
Robin is a young woman whose father taught her all he knows about archery and sword fighting. Her strength is great in the art of the bow and arrow. As the head of twenty-five men and women, Robin is respected and has earned a good reputation for her group of rebels. She is strong and stubborn, yet a gentle and loving woman.
When she is challenged by Daniel, the rogue leader of the freemen, she accepts. You see, Daniel doesn’t know Robin is a woman—let alone that she is the same woman he fell in-love with. She expected many trials in her efforts to recover the throne from a usurper but, what she least expected was to find love.
In book two, The Highwayman of Cordovia, the people enjoy their new-found liberty but all is not well. One year after Cordovia gains its freedom, a group of powerful men plan to take over the small country and replace the leader with a king.
In The Highwayman of Cordovia you will find secrets, forbidden romance, and a highwayman that merits a medal. This book two of the Rebel Series is an adventure that takes freedom to heart and the characters will defend it with their lives. It is another great historical novel from the pen of Linda Weaver Clarke.
In Cordovia, a man and his Kingmen want to topple the president of the country. They take away the people’s land and also their ways of life. He tries to make them believe that they will be better off if he is in power. Many believes him. Others don’t, like Christine, the pastor’s daughter, who writes an article in the newspaper about her opposing view.
Another who knows better is Austin, who, like Robin Hood, steals from the Kingmen and gives it to the poor. All seems well until he gets reacquainted with Christine and a romance grows between them.
This is a clean read full of patriotic fervor and blood. It is a great read for anyone who likes history and a clean romance. The characters are charming and well developed. I recommend it to anyone, young or old.
The third book, The Fox of Cordovia, has adventure and mystery along with a “second-chance” love story. A sinister plot has just been uncovered and its up to a former patriot and a young nurse to discover who is behind it. Caroline is engaged to the future mayor of Laketown, a man of influence and greatly respected. But all that changes when she overhears a conspiracy behind closed doors. After being discovered, she runs for her life. Caroline needs to report her findings, but whom can she trust? When she asks Jesse Conover for help, the adventure begins.
To begin, I would like to say that I love the covers of the Rebel series, they look perfect for the era just like the story contained within its pages. This historical fiction seems to be taken from the pages of a history book. It is well written with good facts and is quite charming. This story will keep you up all night.
Caroline, the daughter of the doctor who helped the rebels through the other two books in this series is engaged to be married. All falls apart when she hears her husband to be plan a kidnapping of someone important to further his political campaign. The plotters see her and she runs for her life, falling into the hands of the Fox of Cordovia, though she doesn’t know it. They embark on a quest to find the truth and on the way they find love.
The Fox of Cordovia is the finale of the clean Rebel Series and is a great one at that. Mystery, treason and love is what you will find between its covers.

Linda, what book(s) have changed your life?
This may sound strange, but the scriptures have changed my life immensely. I can’t tell you how much they have influenced me in my life. I try to read them on a regular basis. In fact, one of my favorite stories in the scriptures is Joseph, who was sold into Egypt by his brothers. It always touches my heart when he recognizes them during the famine, as they ask for help. He doesn’t hate them for what they did but rather teaches them a lesson.
Also, the story of Captain Moroni, the Title of Liberty, and the Freemen has always intrigued me each time I read it. When they’re fighting for their freedom against the Kingmen, I feel I’m right there beside them. The fight for liberty has always touched my heart.
I too love the scriptures. Who are your favorite authors?
I’m probably prejudice, but my favorite author is my daughter, Serena Clarke. I absolutely love her stories. They’re fantasy romances, but what I love about them is that each book in The Isian Series is about the fight for truth and freedom, and the women in her books are strong characters. I like that. They don’t stand idly by, allowing the men to thwart the enemy. In one way, it’s a lot like your fantasies, Anna. Your women are strong and fight for what they believe.
I agree with you, Serena’s characters are awesome. Thank you fort he compliment…Tell us why you wrote your new book. What is it about?
I absolutely love stories that are page-turners, which have some mystery, romance, and suspense. I love a romance where the man and woman know they are meant for one another. Even though there are trials along the way, they never give up on the other. I also like strong women characters in a story.
In this swashbuckling romance, a sinister plot has just been uncovered and its up to a former patriot and a young nurse to discover who is behind it.
Sounds interesting. Where did you get your inspiration for The Rebel Series?
All three books in this series are love stories set in the late 1700s. The Rebel Series was inspired by the stories of the American patriots who fought to be free from the dictatorship and tyranny of a king. It’s a theme that is dear to me. Liberty is something that I cherish. It’s a precious gift given to us by those who fought so valiantly. When I read the stories of the American Revolution, my heart swells with gratitude for those loyal patriots. When I look at our flag and pledge allegiance to it, tears well up in my eyes. When I listen to The Star Spangled Banner or God Bless the U.S.A., I get choked up. Especially when it’s sung by a choir.
I too love those patriotic songs. Where can we find your books?

From the award-winning author of the bestselling novel The Soldier’s Bride read the story of a carpenter who gave a music box to a young polio victim, but held the magic of the melody inside his heart.
