Kat, along with a tormenting demon, confined within an atmosphere suit

Friday, February 15th, 2019

Ren Garcia is a Science Fiction/Fantasy author and Texas native who grew up in western Ohio. He has been writing since before he could write, often scribbling alien lingo on any available wall or floor with assorted crayons. He attended The Ohio State University and majored in English Literature.

Ren has been an avid lover of anything surreal since childhood. He also has a passion for caving, urban archeology, taking pictures of clouds, and architecture. He currently lives in Columbus, Ohio with his wife, and their four dogs.

Raised in the dark under the lash of the Black Hat Sisterhood, when the woman who would become known as Kat, is sent on a suicide mission into the heart of the League, she was not expected to survive. Her mission: discover the identity of the fabled Shadow tech Goddess, a being who does not exist. All other considerations, including her possible death, are secondary.

But, Kat is guided by higher powers, by merciful hands that feed her, clothe her and whisper in her ear. As she watches the sun rise for the first time, she recalls their words: “Be strong,” they said. “You have much to live for.

Snippet:
The Autocon inside her body swam through her Shadow
tech like a giant parasite. It cajoled her along the way with its icy Shadow
tech voice:
“Do not die! The Black Abbess is invested in your
success. Die, waste our training in you and we will reclaim our Shadow tech and
cast your soul to Hell where it will be devoured for the remainder of eternity
… Do not die!”

Breanna Murphy has been planning her wedding for years so when her fiancé runs off with a hula dancer, she is forced to realize her destination wedding is nothing more than an exotic vacation for one.
Trying to escape the embarrassment and disappointment of being jilted at the altar, Breanna answers an ad for a job clear across the country. When the voice on the other end offers her the job, she’s excited about what awaits her in California.
Builder Calvin Comstock must make right on his daughter’s mistake regarding the nationwide advertisement and hiring of Breanna. He doesn’t know what to expect, but when Breanna walks into his office with her infectious smile, peaches and cream complexion not to mention her sexy southern drawl, Calvin is happy for his daughter’s error.
Breanna is drawn to Calvin’s mature movie star good looks, charming personality, soft voice, and strong hands. She’s trying to stay focused on the job and not the overwhelming lure she feels pulling her in to test the waters. But when the two realize the attraction is mutual they throw caution to the wind and give in to the undeniable desire to be together.

Can an ex-wife and a teenage daughter spoil their happiness or will it make them stronger than ever?

Snippet:
Calvin watched her as she walked toward the concrete stairs
that led upstairs to her room. Her gently swaying hips and auburn hair bouncing across her shoulders caught his eye, that was certain. These Louisiana girls were quite pretty, especially when they were part Creole and part Irish.
She quickly turned around as she grasped the railing. Her
wide smile infectious as everything else about her.
“I had a great night. Thanks for showing me around.”
“My pleasure. Maybe we can do it again sometime?” He dug his
hands in his pockets to help hide their shaking. It had been a long time since he’d taken a beautiful woman out to dinner.
“I’d like that, Calvin.”
“Oh, listen. Let’s not be so formal. Call me Cal.”
“Okay, Cal.” Her cheeks blushed, which perfectly coordinated
with her auburn hair.
“In that case, call me Bree.” She pulled herself around from
the railing and began to ascend the steps.
“Bree,” he called out.
She stopped.
“The floorplans.” He jogged over to his car and reached into
the back seat, pulling out a cardboard tube. “You’ll need this.” He handed her the tube then reached into his back pocket and retrieved his wallet. When he handed her the plastic card, their hands touched, and for a moment he wanted to pull her in and kiss her plump lips. Instead, he left his hand just a little longer on hers so he could pull in all the energy he felt from her, from her touch. “Here,” he said softly.
“Thank you,” she whispered.

He stepped away and then turned around. Walking slowly back
to his car, he wondered if she’d call him back and ask him up to her room. But that was just plain ludicrous. What young, beautiful woman, who you’d just only met, would do that?

Casey Wheeler is fleeing from her abusive and unfaithful husband

Wednesday, February 13th, 2019

“I was born and raised in Los Angeles, California, the second of four children. Growing up with the influence of a long line of teachers with a passion for classical education, my time was filled with lessons in violin, cello, piano, ballet…and not-so-classical Girl Scouts and softball.
At the age of twelve, I traveled throughout Europe with my Grandmother and aunts, who filled my days with the shared reading of classics such as Jane Eyre and Sherlock Holmes, developing my love of literature early on.
I pursued my love of literature into college, earning a Bachelor’s of English, a Master’s of Education, and I am currently working to complete a Master’s in English.
My first novel, All the Wrong Places, started as a short story for a creative writing course and chronicles many of my experiences living in a mortuary, raising my daughter on my own and discovering my Christian faith.
My years in college writing programs have left me with a varied collection of short stories, plays and poetry covering many personal experiences from teenage rebellion to single-motherhood and spiritual awakening.
While writing and continuing my own education, I taught High School English in an attempt to pass my love of literature and writing on to others, and continue to share that passion with students and other aspiring writers.
I currently spend my days pursuing my creative dreams and reaching out to women to share my experience, strength and hope as a survivor of sexual assault and domestic abuse.
I reside in Eagle, Idaho with my husband,  and my very large cat. “

 ~ Website ~
Driving aimlessly through the stormy suburbs of San Francisco, Casey Wheeler is fleeing from her abusive and unfaithful husband with her five year old daughter Maddy asleep in the backseat. With nowhere to go and no one to turn to, Casey loses control of her emotions and her car, crashing into a hillside below a mortuary.

Desperately seeking shelter, and more so independence, she finds herself taken in by the mortuary director who apprehensively offers her a job and a place to live. As she stumbles through the ins and outs of her new and morbid surroundings, Casey is forced into a hostile custody battle with her relentless and increasingly violent husband.

In the midst of all the chaos, she finds a new family and even love in the eccentric and protective people of Golden Oaks Funeral Home. But just when she has found all she could hope for, she will have to fight to the death to protect it.

This semi-autobiographical story of a single-mother and her journey to self-discovery, independence and a true understanding of love will keep readers captivated and yearning for more.
Snippet:
He was so becoming in his black suit, and I felt a slight and unfamiliar
kind of attraction to him. He had a warm smile spread across his face that made
me feel at home. What an odd feeling. Nobody had taken me in like he had, not
without an expectation of something in return. Would there be an
expectation?

Clearing her father’s name, will ruin her chances of a happy life with the man she love

Monday, February 11th, 2019

Didi Lawson exchanged her town car for a pick-up truck and learned to operate a tractor when she and her husband moved from Arizona to a farm in  Missouri where she now weaves her tales. Her love for writing started early in  life when  she entertained her friends with her stories, won prizes for he essays in high school and wrote road shows and poems for the youth group in her church. She enjoys the outdoors, her children and ten grandchildren, and keeps an active social calendar.

It was supposed to be simple traveling to Germany to find her roots. But nothing turns out the way Tracy had planned.

She meets a man who professes to be her half-brother and is less than happy with her visit. The villagers treat her with contempt for her father’s presumed infamous past.

Trying to solve the mystery, she uncovers secrets that had been hidden for over two decades. Wanting to clear her father’s name, she realizes that by doing so she will ruin her chances of a happy life with the man who had captured her heart.

Snippet:
Tracy’s eyes had followed the tall man’s imposing figure from under half-closed lids. Whatever the problem on the man’s mind, it must be a tough one, she decided. Both hands deep in his jeans’ pockets and a mighty scowl on his features bore witness to his dark mood. His shirt, unbuttoned at the top and tucked into his waistband accentuated his leanness and agility, but his stance betrayed no mercy, only solid determination, and she felt sympathetic toward anyone on the receiving end of such barely concealed indignation.

Diana inexperience and uncertainties have discouraged the charming Mr. John Richfield or has she?

Thursday, February 7th, 2019

For as long as she can remember, Bethany Swafford has loved reading books. That love of words extended to writing as she grew older and when it became more difficult to find a ‘clean’ book, she determined to write her own. Among her favorite authors are Jane Austen, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, and Georgette Heyer.
When she doesn’t have pen to paper (or fingertips to laptop keyboard), she can generally be found with a book in hand.

~ Twitter ~ Instagram ~

Twenty-year-old Diana Forester, a country-bred young woman, fears that her inexperience and uncertainties have discouraged the charming Mr. John Richfield.

On arriving back home from London, she learns that he has already arrived, ready to continue their acquaintance and explore whether they are suited for each other.

If Diana thought that deciding her future marriage mate was difficult in London, courting takes on a whole new aspect when Diana’s younger siblings become involved. She finds herself dealing with her own feelings, her sister, her younger brother, jealous members of a house party, a jilted suitor, and a highwayman as she falls in love with the charming Mr. Richfield.

Snippet:
Mother sat alone in the sitting room when I entered. “Come have a seat, Diana,” she said, gesturing to the space on the settee next to her. “Your aunt hinted you had something you wanted to share with me.”
“Yes, I do.” I crossed the room. The entire trip from London I had spent thinking of the best way to approach this subject. All of my planning vanished the closer I got to my mother. By the time I sat down, my hands were damp with moisture. “You recall I met a Mr. Richfield in London, shortly after I first arrived?”
“Yes, you mentioned him several times in your letters.”
Her tone was matter-of-fact, giving absolutely nothing away, which I should have expected. Mother was an expert at keeping her thoughts to herself. “Well—” I hesitated as I sought the right words. I rubbed my palms against my skirt. “At Aunt Forester’s last dinner party, Mr. Richfield asked for my permission to come speak to father.”
For a moment, there was silence. “What was your answer?” Mother asked, as calm as ever.
I bit my lip and found I could no longer meet her gaze. “I fear I may have spoken without thinking.” Back when I had said the words, I had been surprised. Now though, I realized just how mistaken I had been. “I said it’s always pleasant to have someone new visit.”
“I see. Do you like him?”
Ah, there was the question. “I think so.” I took a deep breath and let it out slowly. “He is respectable, at least as far as Uncle Forester could discover. No one ever had a word to say against him. I think he is a good man.”
“And yet, you don’t seem enthusiastic about marrying him.”
“I have only known him for a few weeks.” It felt good to be able to talk this out with my mother, now the awkwardness of saying the words had passed. If anyone could help me untangle my feelings, it was her. “Is that enough time to know a person? You knew Papa your whole life before he proposed.”
Mother’s hand came over mine. “Diana, look at me.” I lifted my eyes to hers. “You are the only one who can make this decision. It is your right to refuse an offer you find distasteful. However, you need to understand it is not likely you will have the opportunity to travel again and meet other people.”
“I don’t find the offer distasteful. I don’t think I know him well enough to accept his hand in marriage.” I sighed. “I wish I had had the time to know more about him.”
            “Perhaps you will.”
I shook my head. That seemed an impossibility. “Mama, the look on his face when I pretended I didn’t understand. I acted as if I were a senseless, empty-headed child! What kind of man would pursue me in the face of that?”
“A man who would be understanding. Someone who would realize your shy nature.”
Pulling my hand away, I reached to pour myself some much-needed tea. “There are other, much prettier girls with better dowries than I,” I remarked, adding just the right amount of cream and sugar. “I doubt I will ever see him again.”
Of that, I was quite certain. I had spent hours considering what a mess I had made of the situation. Why would he chase after me when Miss Reynolds was on hand to charm and flirt with him? I sipped my tea as I watched my mother’s face. Her smile was one I couldn’t quite understand. Why did she look so amused?

            “Mr. Richfield is already here.”

He needs this job to honor his late wife.  She needs to complete her late fiancé’s bucket list to be free

Friday, December 21st, 2018

Jennifer lives in Arizona where she writes escapist fiction she calls “Cotton Candy for the Soul.”

He needs this job to honor his late wife.
She needs to complete her late fiancé’s bucket list to be free.
Former action-movie star Chet has counted the days since he lost his wife last New Year’s Eve almost a year ago. When he’s given a shot at starring in a reboot of her favorite TV show, he jumps at it. But there’s a catch: the producers won’t hire him unless he can prove he’s regained emotional stability—by bringing a steady girlfriend to his five auditions.
Which means: five mandatory dates for this bereft widower.
Social worker Holly lost her fiancé to war. With his good life snuffed out too soon, she feels compelled to finish his bucket list of unselfish deeds. But four years later, several remain, and they’re ridiculously impossible. Until she accomplishes her soldier’s dreams, she can’t even consider moving on with her life.
When they meet on the beach at Getaway Bay, what she doesn’t know is homeless-looking mourner Chet is actually Colt Winchester, screen star and fashion icon. What he doesn’t know is that he’s a means to an end.
When their walls start to crumble on their Christmas season dates, can these two find love again, or will they forever be chasing ghosts?”

Snippet:
“Excuse me.” A server approached with a silver platter covered with frosted sugar cookies. “Would you care for a cookie?”
“Who says no to a sugar cookie?” Holly took two—a star and a snowman. “Thank you.” One bite of the star’s vanilla-almond buttercream frosting sent her mouth into ecstasy.
“These are good,” Chet ate his green-frosted Christmas tree in two bites.
“Did you try the snowman?” The frosting of her second cookie melted into a sweet coconutty heaven on her tongue. “Mmm. It’s childhood in a sugary bite.”
“Do you bake?” He spoke through a mouthful. “Mmm. Cookies are love.”
Chet caught Holly off guard. He hadn’t seemed like the type to make such a tender analogy.
“Ah, sometimes. And you’re right. Especially sugar cookies. They require so many steps I always just buy them.” She never made them. Not even for Rick. “The only thing that could motivate a person to make them is love of the recipients of the cookies.”
“That,” Chet said, “or a deep love of sugar cookies.”
“Gluttony could also be a motivator.”
“Where’s that platter? We should get more of those.” Spoken like a true hungry person.
Holly had never experienced true hunger, at least not physical hunger. Maybe Chet needed more cookies.
“If we walk around, we might run into the sugar cookie person again.” Or someone with another kind of food, if Chet needed it. However, tonight, Chet seemed a lot less like a guy who needed to fish to feed himself than he had the other day.
They walked toward a table with chairs and sat down. Chet reached across the table and took her by both hands. “I think girlfriend is right for now.”
Girlfriend. Holly stared down at their clasped hands atop the green velvet tablecloth. His were rough, like they’d held a fishing rod in the sun for a lot of hours, day after day. She’d seen him on the shore.
“So that makes you my boyfriend.” The word sounded younger than she felt. The last four years had aged her. Against her collarbone, Rick’s unused wedding ring heated up again. “You work fast.”

“Not usually.”

Historical Romances by Linda Weaver Clarke

Monday, July 9th, 2018

I would love to have an ebook giveaway and an Audible audiobook giveaway. We will pick from all who leave a comment and their email.

Who is Author Linda Weaver Clarke?

I was raised among the Rocky Mountains of southern Idaho and live in Color Country in southern Utah. I am the author of 23 books. I have several genres that I write in—a Historical Romance series: Bear Lake Family Saga, a Mystery Suspense series: The Adventures of John and Julia Evans, a Cozy Mystery series: Amelia Moore Detective Series, and a Period/Adventure Romance: The Rebel Series. I am also a missionary at the Family Search Center. I help people find their ancestors and learn about their heritage.

What draws readers to this historical romance series: Bear Lake Family Saga?

This series has strong female characters who have a destiny to fulfill. Each woman wants to make a difference in someone’s life. No matter the trial that comes her way, she is ready to fight for what she believes. I love the male characters. Even though they are strong and masculine, they have their tender moments that can melt your heart. Bear Lake Family Saga has plenty of adventure along with a tender love story.

What was the inspiration for this series?

My ancestors were my inspiration. I was writing their histories so my children would learn to appreciate their heritage. Their stories were intriguing and full of adventure. When I was done, I decided to write a historical romance series and give these true experiences to my fictional characters.

Give us a brief description of each story in this series?

Melinda and the Wild West(Book 1): Melinda is a schoolteacher. She has many challenges but it’s a rugged rancher who challenges Melinda with the one thing for which she was least prepared—love.

Edith and the Mysterious Stranger(Book 2): Edith is a nurse. When a mysterious stranger starts writing to Edith, she gets to know a man’s inner soul before making any harsh judgments. Whoever he is, this man is a mystery but is he as wonderful in person as he is in his letters?

Jenny’s Dream(Book 3): Jenny is an aspiring author. She has a dream to fulfill, but the only thing standing in her way is an unpleasant memory, which has haunted her since childhood. She must learn to forgive before she can follow her dream.

Sarah’s Special Gift(Book 4): Sarah is a beautiful and successful dance teacher but she is not an average young woman. Sarah is deaf, but this does not stop her from living life to its fullest. And it does not stop her from falling in love with a man who needs her help.

Elena, Woman of Courage(Book 5): The Roaring Twenties was a time of great change, when women raised their hemlines and bobbed their hair. As Elena fights to prove herself as the town’s first female doctor, the town’s most eligible bachelor finds it a challenge to see if he can win her heart.

Are your books in audiobook form?

Yes. I have a narrator who is narrating them for Audible. I have one narrator for Melinda and the Wild West, and then changed to a different narrator for the next four. Carolyn Kashner actually sings in Edith and the Mysterious Stranger, and she has such a lovely voice.

Who is the most intriguing character in this series?

I love all my female characters, but I feel that Elena from Elena Woman of Courage is the most interesting. She has to endure a lot of prejudice from the town bullywho feels that women doctors have no right to practice medicine. But that isn’t all. This story takes place during the roaring twenties, and Elena has decided to be a part of this new generation by bobbing her hair and raising her hemlines. That takes a lot of courage.Of course, the town’s most eligible bachelor finds her most intriguing. He actually admires her tenacity. I admire Elena, as well.

(For history buffs: Bobbed haircausedalotofcommotion.A teacherinJerseyCitywas orderedtogrowher hairbackbytheschoolboardorshe wouldbefired.Womenwith bobbedhairwerefiredfrom prestigiousdepartmentstoreswithoutanywarning.Apreacherpoundedthepulpit,sayingthata“bobbedwomanwasadisgracedwoman.”The raising of hemlines had its problems, as well.)

They developed a new vocabulary during the roaring twenties. What were some of the words you discovered while writing this story?

This was the fun part of writing Elena Woman of Courage. During this time period, they spoke a language foreign to their parents.  Here are some examples.

If you were excited about something, you say: Cat’s pajamas!

If you didn’t agree with someone, you say: Ah, horsefeathers!

If you were a feisty woman, you were referred to as: a bearcat.

If you were an attractive woman, you were referred to as: a doll.

Women were also referred to as: a tomato.

When John wanted to “spoon” with Elena, she said: The bank’s closed.

A woman’s body was referred to as a chassisand her legs were gams.

Their connection to each other is the only certainty

Tuesday, May 15th, 2018
“I kissed Edward Wolverton once. It
was everything it was supposed to be—and then some… maybe I’ll kiss him again.”

TV Producer Bea Douglas’s last confession to her former business partner and ex-best friend wasn’t meant to tempt the fates. She’s eager to escape the hypocrisy of the television industry and years of hiding her faith for the convenience of other people. Edward Wolverton may be hot, smart, and funny—but he’s also two steps out of rehab with a self-proclaimed allergy to Christianity.

But after a club night turns violent, Bea loses her sense of self while Eddie teeters on the edge of relapse. Their connection to each other is the only certainty. To
be together, each will have to let go of past pain and have faith in a love that never fades.

Off Script is an uncommon story of the power of love and resilience to bring people together in a society that does its best to tear them apart.

Liv Bartlet is the pseudonym for writing partners Becca McCulloch and Sarah McKnight, who have been building worlds and
telling stories together for more than a decade. They’ve logged hours of behind-the-scenes movie and TV footage and challenged each other in a friendly Oscar guessing game every year this millennium. Lifelong Anglophiles, their Monkey & Me world sprang to vivid life on a trip to London that included divine pastries, sublime art, and a spectacular pratfall in the British Museum.

Becca is a professor, a scientist, and a secret romantic who insisted their first order of business in London was a meandering five-mile walk to see Big Ben. She lives with her husband, children,
and an ever-expanding roster of pets in Logan, Utah.

Sarah is an Army brat, an Excel geek, and has a lot of opinions on the differences between science fiction and fantasy. She lives with her cat, Sir Jack—who is featured prominently on Liv’s Instagram —just outside Salt Lake City.

The Christmas Switch by Laura L. Walker

Thursday, December 28th, 2017

Blurb:

STORM CLOUDS ON THE HORIZON

Having been the class clown through most of her teenage years, eighteen-year-old Ashley Sweeney is ready to leave her family, friends, and reputation behind and start a new life in sunny California. But Ashley’s determination to show her dad and stepmom that she can handle herself in the big wide world falls apart when she becomes the victim of a mean-spirited prank. To make matters worse, the one guy she never wanted to see again has come to her rescue.

Collin Nichols wanted to serve an honorable LDS mission from the time he was old enough to know what one was. But when the former high school football star’s missionary service comes to a crashing halt, he’s suddenly the most unpopular guy in Forest Meadow, Idaho. Now, to avoid his parents’ disapproval and awkward stares from people who used to be his friends, he gladly accepts Ashley’s dad’s plea to help him bring her home safely. If only he can get Ashley to see his way . . . and if only he can forget the electric kiss they shared back in high school.

But getting home is only half the battle. Ashley soon is caught up in the craziness of college life and Collin is forced to stand on the sidelines and watch as she receives attention from a returned missionary who seems like the perfect match for her. But when an unwanted visitor from her past shows up on her doorstep, will she need to be rescued once again? And when the storm clouds finally lift, will a new love have formed in the mist?

Teaser:

Ashley’s dad turned to the police officer. “What about it, officer? May I have my daughter back now?”

“We’ll need to fill out some forms, then your daughter will be free to go.”

“Great.” Her dad abruptly stood and followed the officer to the door, waving at someone from down the hallway. “She’s in here. Come and wait with her while I go sign papers.”

“Sure. No problem,” a deep voice said. Wondering whom her dad was waving to, Ashley stood and turned around. A ghost from her past walked through the door, and her mouth fell open. Standing before her in all his white-toothed, well-muscled, and tawny-eyed splendor was none other than football quarterback Collin Nichols, his thick dark brown hair hidden under a baseball cap. Missionary Collin Nichols.

It couldn’t be. Wasn’t he was serving his mission in New York? “Collin? What are you doing here?”

This was the last thing she remembered before everything went black.

A sinister plot has just been uncovered…

Historical Romance Series: Stories of Rebels, Adventure, and Mystery

The Rebel Series is a mixture of romance and adventure. Each book, set in the late 1700s, is a love story with mystery and suspense as a young couple and their rebel friends strive to help their country. The romance in this series can be enjoyed by young and old alike. For those who enjoy strong women characters, all three books have this in common. They are independent women who have an opinion and are not afraid to express it. The heroes in this series are rebels with a sense of justice. They are chivalrous and their feelings run deep for the young women they’re in love with.

In The Rebels of Cordovia, centuries after the legendary Robin Hood, a group of men and women find themselves fighting for the same cause. In this battle for freedom, a tender love story begins to blossom. Daniel, a rogue and a leader of the Freemen, doesn’t realize that the sweet feminine woman he has met and is falling for happens to be the leader of Robin’s Rebels. Realizing the importance of uniting all the rebel groups, Daniel tries to recruit Robin’s Rebels but they refuse. Now he has to find a way to convince them. When he finds out the leader is actually a woman, what will his reaction be?

My Review:

What a fun and interesting tale The Rebels of Cordovia is. A very good story to keep you glued all the way to the end. I really enjoyed the romance mingled with the fights. It is a well-paced tale to give you entertainment for a warm day on summer at the beach, or next to a warm fire in the rain. Linda writes a good, clean, and sweet romance, for young adults and adults alike. You will enjoy the story to the end.
Robin is a young woman whose father taught her all he knows about archery and sword fighting. Her strength is great in the art of the bow and arrow. As the head of twenty-five men and women, Robin is respected and has earned a good reputation for her group of rebels. She is strong and stubborn, yet a gentle and loving woman.
When she is challenged by Daniel, the rogue leader of the freemen, she accepts. You see, Daniel doesn’t know Robin is a woman—let alone that she is the same woman he fell in-love with. She expected many trials in her efforts to recover the throne from a usurper but, what she least expected was to find love.

In book two, The Highwayman of Cordovia, the people enjoy their new-found liberty but all is not well. One year after Cordovia gains its freedom, a group of powerful men plan to take over the small country and replace the leader with a king.

My Review:

In The Highwayman of Cordovia you will find secrets, forbidden romance, and a highwayman that merits a medal. This book two of the Rebel Series is an adventure that takes freedom to heart and the characters will defend it with their lives. It is another great historical novel from the pen of Linda Weaver Clarke.

In Cordovia, a man and his Kingmen want to topple the president of the country. They take away the people’s land and also their ways of life. He tries to make them believe that they will be better off if he is in power. Many believes him. Others don’t, like Christine, the pastor’s daughter, who writes an article in the newspaper about her opposing view.

Another who knows better is Austin, who, like Robin Hood, steals from the Kingmen and gives it to the poor. All seems well until he gets reacquainted with Christine and a romance grows between them.

This is a clean read full of patriotic fervor and blood. It is a great read for anyone who likes history and a clean romance. The characters are charming and well developed. I recommend it to anyone, young or old.

The third book, The Fox of Cordovia, has adventure and mystery along with a “second-chance” love story. A sinister plot has just been uncovered and its up to a former patriot and a young nurse to discover who is behind it. Caroline is engaged to the future mayor of Laketown, a man of influence and greatly respected. But all that changes when she overhears a conspiracy behind closed doors. After being discovered, she runs for her life. Caroline needs to report her findings, but whom can she trust? When she asks Jesse Conover for help, the adventure begins.

My Review:

To begin, I would like to say that I love the covers of the Rebel series, they look perfect for the era just like the story contained within its pages. This historical fiction seems to be taken from the pages of a history book. It is well written with good facts and is quite charming. This story will keep you up all night.

Caroline, the daughter of the doctor who helped the rebels through the other two books in this series is engaged to be married. All falls apart when she hears her husband to be plan a kidnapping of someone important to further his political campaign. The plotters see her and she runs for her life, falling into the hands of the Fox of Cordovia, though she doesn’t know it. They embark on a quest to find the truth and on the way they find love.

The Fox of Cordovia is the finale of the clean Rebel Series and is a great one at that. Mystery, treason and love is what you will find between its covers.

A swashbuckling romance by Linda Weaver Clarke

Friday, July 28th, 2017

She has also traveled throughout the United States giving lectures on writing techniques. All her books are family friendly. She lives in Color Country, which is located in southern Utah among all the red mountains.

Linda Weaver Clarke is having a Book Giveaway, which will last until Aug 21st: Every visitor will receive 7 EBOOKS FREE if they preorder the Historical Romance: The Fox of Cordovia. For these promotional giveaways, go to https://lindaweaverclarke.wordpress.com.

Linda, what book(s) have changed your life?

This may sound strange, but the scriptures have changed my life immensely. I can’t tell you how much they have influenced me in my life. I try to read them on a regular basis. In fact, one of my favorite stories in the scriptures is Joseph, who was sold into Egypt by his brothers. It always touches my heart when he recognizes them during the famine, as they ask for help. He doesn’t hate them for what they did but rather teaches them a lesson.

Also, the story of Captain Moroni, the Title of Liberty, and the Freemen has always intrigued me each time I read it. When they’re fighting for their freedom against the Kingmen, I feel I’m right there beside them. The fight for liberty has always touched my heart.

I too love the scriptures. Who are your favorite authors?

I’m probably prejudice, but my favorite author is my daughter, Serena Clarke. I absolutely love her stories. They’re fantasy romances, but what I love about them is that each book in The Isian Series is about the fight for truth and freedom, and the women in her books are strong characters. I like that. They don’t stand idly by, allowing the men to thwart the enemy. In one way, it’s a lot like your fantasies, Anna. Your women are strong and fight for what they believe.

I agree with you, Serena’s characters are awesome. Thank you fort he compliment…Tell us why you wrote your new book. What is it about?

I absolutely love stories that are page-turners, which have some mystery, romance, and suspense. I love a romance where the man and woman know they are meant for one another. Even though there are trials along the way, they never give up on the other. I also like strong women characters in a story.

In this swashbuckling romance, a sinister plot has just been uncovered and its up to a former patriot and a young nurse to discover who is behind it.

Sounds interesting. Where did you get your inspiration for The Rebel Series?

All three books in this series are love stories set in the late 1700s. The Rebel Series was inspired by the stories of the American patriots who fought to be free from the dictatorship and tyranny of a king. It’s a theme that is dear to me. Liberty is something that I cherish. It’s a precious gift given to us by those who fought so valiantly. When I read the stories of the American Revolution, my heart swells with gratitude for those loyal patriots. When I look at our flag and pledge allegiance to it, tears well up in my eyes. When I listen to The Star Spangled Banner or God Bless the U.S.A., I get choked up. Especially when it’s sung by a choir.

I too love those patriotic songs. Where can we find your books?

Peters made another note, then pocketed his notebook and stood, frowning. “What
are you planning to do about this broken window? It’s unlikely you’ll get a
glass company out here to replace it until morning. Is there somewhere you and
Keith can go for the night?”
“Keith’s
staying at the neighbor’s.” Emma took in the glass all over the floor, the cool
breeze blowing in, and had to swallow a lump in her throat. “I don’t know what
to do about the window.”
“I’ll
help her take care of it.” James reached across the arms of their chairs and
took her hand, palm-to-palm, an offer of solid support—friendship. “Do you know
if your dad has any plywood lying around?”
“Probably.”
Her head spun as the initial adrenaline rush wore off, but she squeezed James’s
hand, grateful. “Thanks.”
He
shook his head. “Don’t worry about it.”
Peters
leveled his gaze on James. “You planning to stick around for a while?”
James
hesitated, his eyes searching hers for approval. “As long as Emma needs. I’ll
help her clean up, make sure she’s not alone if the vandal comes back.”
Something
stirred, fluttered, in Emma’s chest, soft, like the tentacles of a jellyfish in
motion. She tried to push the feeling away, but James held tight, and the warm
sensation traveled up her arm and spread through the rest of her body.
Tread
carefully, Emma. Go slow. Don’t dive in just because it feels good to be
touched, to have someone worry about you.
James
moved her in foreign ways, from places no one else had managed to reach. By all
accounts, he should be forbidden territory. She couldn’t ask him to stay, but
tonight, she didn’t relish the idea of being alone, either.
Another
officer poked his head in the door. “Lieutenant, we’re clear out here.”
“Thanks,
Brown.” Peters handed Emma a business card. “Here’s my number. I’m on duty
until two a.m., but you can call anytime.”

“Thanks.”
She ran her fingers over the card as Peters strode from the house, closing the
door behind him. Outside, the cops got in their cars, turned off the flashing
lights, and one by one, drove away.
