Ana enjoyed the calmness of the afternoon, and listened to his soothing, hypnotic voice for a while. Thoughts of a prior discussion on the vampire ceremony entered her mind, and she felt a need to understand the process better.
“What exactly do you mean bytasteyour blood?†She suddenly straightened and turned her head to stare at him.
For almost an hour Andree explained the details of the traditional vampire wedding ceremony.
“There will be two ceremonial daggers, sharp, with our names engraved on them. You will use the one—â€
“Use? Are you telling me that I have to cut you in a room—an underground room—in the presence of hundreds of vampires? Are you for real? Are you—?â€
Andree laughed and held her closer to him.
She could appreciate his gesture, but it didn’t help her feel better. It was bad enough she stood in that room the other night, under the scrutinizing glares. Adding blood to the equation wasn’t something to look forward to.
“You will cut your initial in the palm of my hand, here,†he explained, indicating a spot on his palm, right under his thumb. “I will do the same, and you will not feel a thing. Daniel will be right there with his spray. It will be quick and painless.â€
“But what about the blood? I mean—â€
“Nobody will attack you or me, guaranteed. It is part of the ceremony.â€
“I’m not sure about it. You guys in general go crazy when you see or smell blood.â€
“Ana, tasting my blood is a symbol. I am giving you my life, just as you will give me yours. It is what will bind us for eternity.†He lifted her hand to his lips and kissed her palm, sending tingles, as if a million tiny ants marched through her veins. “As I already told you, the ceremony is short, but every word we say, every gesture, symbolizes something.â€
“Can’t we do all that without the blood part?†With the tingles melted away, and a nervous energy replacing them, she dared to gaze at him.

While experts were busy speculating about vanishing star systems, astronomical impact, and the longevity of the battle that began as a result, Zyla started searching for Orion because, if the nightmares she kept having come true, they were in desperate need of a hero.

Peadlebody dies in a train wreck while traveling with his family, (a
rather dysfunctional lot of half-blood vampires) after a flood in

relatives. Gerald soon discovers solving a murder mystery meets with
a stone cold reception.
The Unconventional Mr. Peadlebody by D. L. Gardner is quite an interesting tale about dysfunctional vampires. It is a great tale, with even a nicer plot that will keep you glue to it’s pages. I enjoyed the characters and their quirky personalities. It is a wholesome tale and would be enjoy by the whole family.
Raymond wants a normal life, he doesn’t want to be a half vampire and his mother is trying everything to make it happen for both of them. His grandfather is dead and so is his father. His uncle inherited the Peadlebody Mansion and, with it, the library and all his father’s diaries. Who would want those diaries and why and would they kill to obtain them? These are some of the mysteries that await readers as they peruse this tale. Nice writing of a good story and the telling.
This story is completely different than any other vampire books out there. In a sense, it is quite refreshing and fresh in that genre. The characters are well developed and fun to get to know and cheer on. All in all, a good read for a winter’s night by the fire.

There weren’t any doorways in which to hide down this stretch of
alley, and I’d realized, once I’d started toward the restaurant, it was
deceptively longer than it had seemed upon first inspection. Every time I turned
around, the space behind me was empty, as it had been the last five times I’d
jerked my head around, certain I’d catch a glimpse of whomever I knew had
to be there. I was about halfway through the narrow, dark walkway now, my skin
consumed by the cold-running chill of fear.
Maybe I should call Caelyn? *No, Maura,* I stubbornly told myself,
*you’ll scare her to death. You’re probably imagining it.* I could envision the
near hysterics at the other end of the line and ruled that option out
completely. Besides, I was almost at the other end. If anything
should happen at this point, I was sure someone would hear me scream. Wow…I
really didn’t want cause to scream… I rubbed my hands over my arms in an effort
to calm, comfort and warm myself.
I tried to put myself at ease by telling myself anyone who smelled
as good as this guy could be no homeless drug addict. And if he meant me harm,
wouldn’t he have made his move before I’d gotten this close to the crowded
street? As I inched through the last quarter of the alley, I took in a deep
breath, just to catch one last whiff of whatever scent this guy was wearing. I
tried to store it in memory, so I could try to find some to give Ron—and
myself—as a Christmas present.
“You know I’m here, don’t you, Maura?â€
My legs felt like cooked spaghetti, and it was all I could do to
keep from collapsing in utter fear, right there on the sidewalk. Though the
deep, male voice was smooth and beautiful…it still should not carry across the
night in the syllables that made up my name.
My brain fumbled around inside itself for a reasonable
explanation. One of the teachers must have been at the library? A far more
rational part tossed out the thought that even if one of the
teachers from my school was the mysterious, sweet-smelling man in the alley, he
had been lurking around, not allowing me to catch a glimpse of him. And I just
couldn’t propose any way that could be a good thing.
Then, my brain tossed out the oddity that this person, whoever he
might turn out to be, had stalked me, frightened me, made me doubt my own
perceptions, only to let me get so close to a place of safety? He’d cruelly let
me believe I’d soon be in a well-lit restaurant, only to take it away when I
thought I was home free. My ever-increasingly volatile temper flared white-hot,
burning away most of the fear I’d felt. I irrationally whirled to face whoever
he may be, infuriated by the twisted way he’d kept me rooted to the edge of the
darkness at the very last moment.

Cheree Alsop just published the first book in her new Monster Asylum Series,  “The Fangs of Bloodhaven.”
Being a teenage vampire in a human family isn’t easy, especially in a city where harboring any monster subspecies is illegal. When Everett is injured attempting to save a werewolf, she takes him to the Monster Asylum, a place that shouldn’t exist, and introduces him to a world of acceptance and possibility. Dark creatures begin to plague the five cities. Everett’s ability to fight against them makes him irreplaceable if the human world that fears him can accept a vampire as a hero.
Cynthia how did you came up with the idea for an anthology?
Rebecca Gage was the author involved in planning this anthology and specifically seeking out the other nine authors involved. She wanted to create a fun, clean, paranormal book filled with short stories for teens and up to read and enjoy.

I have been writing for almost 3 years. My first book was published in May of 2012. Since then I have published twenty-five books. Of that twenty-five books, two are young adult and eight are children’s books.
Very nice. Tell us where you were born and where do you live now.
I was born in St. Francisville, LA, raised in Clinton,LA and currently reside in Morgan City, LA.
How do you know the idea is good enough to write a book about it?
Once I take the outline for my book and begin writing, I truly have no idea which direction the book will go. I let the words flow onto the paper, and once I am about about halfway done, the genre comes to me.
Wow! Â Who has made the greatest difference for you as a writer?
When I did decide to finally start writing, I remembered how (more…)
