When did you first know you wanted to be an author?

I don’t remember being hit by lightening exactly, but I’ve been writing as far back as I can remember. By the fifth grade, I was writing short stories and poems and entering writing contests.

A great way to start. What makes you passionate about writing?

It’s my gift. It defines who I am. To be happy, I have to write. Like at addict needing a fix, I get all twitchy when too many hours pass without finding time to write.

Interesting… What was the pathway like for you to get your first book published?

Amy is so good to have you for a visit this week. How long have you been writing?

All my life. I wrote a complete screen play at age ten. That’s right…me and Steven Spielberg. My first full length book came about at age thirteen, then two more at age twenty and two more over the last four years. Writing is an escape for me. I have done it always.

Where were you born? 

I was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah.

7 Goals for a Future Author

Some of your goals as a future author should be:
1. Learn to fix what you write
2. Learn to improve your good writing
3. Learn how to create interesting writing
4. Learn to let others read your work
5. Learn to accept criticism
6. Learn to put down all that is in your mind
7. Learn to have a discipline to write a bit every day
Now I will explain each of this goals, but keep in mind that probably there are many more. (more…)
